Chapter 34 : Finale: Part 1
WHILE going to the arena mentioned by the king, Linus' father, my heart pounded faster than usual. I even heaved a deep and that caught Ms. Dory's attention. And she did say that all I must relax.
I hope that was easy. I never thought that we will be brought into this situation. It is so hard to love. All I ever thought is that we're fine having a relationship privately, I thought I will never experience this kind of thing like I usually watched in movies, but behind everything, I remain tough, and I knew that when you love, you sacrifice. You will take any risk and you will do anything when it comes to love. You will do everything to make your relationship last.
I roamed around the place. In every hallway, guards were wearing black suits. All I have ever known, royal guards should wear those red and black pants like Queen Elizabeth royal guards in England. But I was wrong. As years passed by, things are getting in trend. They dress according to trend. They all have black earpieces, but when we say royal guards, they have to stand still like a statue not unless they were alarmed. And no matter what you do in front of them, they will just ignore you. Not unless you need their help.
And I'm thinking to remove the aviator of one of them, but I don't want to be kicked out of this place. What if he'll shoot me, then I'll be dead on the spot? If that was the case.
"Ms. Dory, do the magic chamber exist?" I asked and equaled her pace.
Ms. Dory let out a soft chuckle. "That was an old tale and we're in the modern world. When I was young, that's what they told me. they always told me about the tale of that magic chamber but until now, even if I often go here, I didn't even see it. or where it resides, I don't know.," she answered.
"Ah. I'm just curious because Reina and my friends always talked about it. you know, they love prince and stuff," I said.
Ms. Dory laughed. "I'm liking Reina's personality, she's always a positive thinker. So, you must be like her. It's hard when you mix negativity in everything—though we can't avoid that, it's more optimistic when you will always stay positive no matter what, which boosts your confidence. It will empower you."
I nodded, "yes ma'am."
"Okay. We're here," she said and stop right in front of the silver door. the texture of the door shouts luxuriousness and its design is fantastic. There were two guards on both sides and one guard opened it for us. Ms. Dory said thank you and I just bow my head.
I don't know why but that moment as we enter the room, things that happened turn into slow motion. When the guard opened the door, when my eyes darted to the man who keeps on shouting as he exerts force punching the black punching bag inside the ring… and if Ms. Dory didn't talk, I may still like a statue.
"Linus," Ms. Dory called him, but the man didn't stop. I heaved a deep sigh. I pulled the hem of my dress down because I get irritated. I'm not used to wearing short stuff. I always wear dresses that have a length below my knee. But they told me that it suits me, and I don't want to dismay Grandma Agatha. I'm not a petite girl like those models in a ramp but I have the figures.
We walked closer to the ring. And God forgives my eyes for its sin. Linus was just topless, and his back is so sexy. I want to hit myself as I'm thinking of one thing that I wanted to see—his sparkling abs. Forgive me, Lord, if my mind started to be flirtatious.
"Linus…" called Mrs. Dory and at that moment, he turned to us.
His fist stopped on mid-air and his eyes widened when his gaze darted into mine. I wanted to laugh over his reaction, but I realize that he was still at fault for me. I just crossed my arms and raised my brow.
He lowered down his hands and stood still. He didn't utter any word. He stepped closer to us and in a swift move, he jumped and crossed our distance.
I gasped when he snaked his arms on my waist and hugged me. "Hey," he just said.
A tear fell from my eyes as I hugged him back. I saw Ms. Dory smiling at me and nodded. She gestured the way out and I understand what she means, I just nodded.
Ms. Dory then walked outside.
All I ever thought Linus was battling with his guards, but it turned out that it was just the punching bag.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry," he said countless times and hugged me tightly. He should've known that he was bathed with sweat, though he still smells fine.
"Why don't you get change first?" I asked. He then loosens the hug.
"I'm sorry," he said, and I just smiled. "Come on. I'll take you to my room," he said, and I nodded.
