CHAPTER 6
CHAPTER SIX: PLAN OF HIM
ETHAN POV
Underneath the ice-cold exterior, she burned and crushed the feminine side of her before it could emerge. I gaze at Rose's back as she leaves the house. I have no doubt that she is not conscious of the slight sway in her hips because of how she walks, with assurance and broad steps.
But it's not entirely gone.
The idea of breaking into her life and exploiting those hidden, secret features of hers makes my lips tremble. My gaze follows her to the entrance even though Eya, one of her most faithful warriors, meets and follows her outside.
Yes, only Rose would choose a woman as one of her closest guards. She always did things differently and flipped the world on its finger.
She thinks she can fight beside me but doesn't know that the fight has been going on for a long time. She can only complete the task she was given because she cannot change the hand dealt to her.
Watching her tear up would be painful, but winning without sacrificing anything is useless.
My thumb brushes against my fingers as I savor her skin's feeling against mine. She is extremely fragile, like flawless silk, and would easily bruise based on the red scars on her neck after I released her.
I'm not sure why, but that information makes me happy. Because of my dirty nature or the simple truth, I've always enjoyed smashing things and then watching them disintegrate.
People become raw and show their most profound, hidden agendas.
The most recent addition to the group will be Rose. Given how she pierced me with those sad eyes as if it were her favorite sport, it's evident that it won't be easy.
My thing throbs against my jeans as I return to the moment; I grasp her throat and feel her pulse in my fingers.
Rose could seem to be everything, but at that moment, her breathing became a strength, and I could see a hint of her muted desires.
I'd be more than pleased to investigate your desires.
I walked around and softly walked back to the dining area while putting my hand in my pant pocket. I stopped at the corner when I saw the four kings leaving with their guards.
I wait until the front of the room is quiet before slowly approaching. I don't snoop around the front of the room like a jerk. That will identify me with any of the nearby guards.
Instead, I grab my in-ear plug, tuck it far inside so it's undetectable, and tap it while I stand in front of the hallway mirror. I obtained this device from the best hackers among my friends.
Given that it doesn't exist, the guards who sweep the area daily for bugs have no hope of ever discovering it. It seems to be a typical light wire.
Before the voices enter, there is a slight rustle from the opposite side.
"What is so vital that all the others must leave?" Raven asks in a low tone.
Ian speaks in the same language, generally so silent you don't hear him, "You're the only one I trust with this information, especially considering the current circumstances."
"The brotherhood is being stolen from us," someone said.
"What?" Raven snarls. "Who has the guts to take from us knowing they will be executed? Does it belong to us?"
"I'm not yet certain. Background checks must still be performed before I can know the precise figures. What I know for sure is that throughout the past year, money has been carefully transferred from the management to a number of accounts located overseas. It was initially something I dismissed as inconsequential, but the sum is about $8,000,000."
"Is there a connection to money laundering here?"
"No. That is odd.
"What would you advise that we do?"
In addition, he is this brotherhood's brilliant architect. Ian's intelligence and strategic planning, not the brutality of the four kings, are why they consistently manage to elude capture. Usually, he can identify the right influential folks who can provide them with immunity.
He predicts solutions to events that haven't happened yet, and that's why he's the best ally I currently have. However, that doesn't change the fact that he will turn into my worst enemy in the future. As much as he keeps away from the limelight, Ian's loyal to this brotherhood to a fault.
"Let Rose collect all the financial reports and then send me a copy," he said to Raven. "I will be able to figure out if it's from the inside."
"You got it."
"I will also need numbers."
"Are you suspecting Rose?" Raven's voice hardens, taking offence on behalf of his niece.
"Everyone is suspect, Raven. The family is not an exception. If my assumptions are accurate, I'll—"
When I sense a presence observing me from the corner, I automatically stop the feed and pretend to button my shirt in front of the mirror while humming happily.
"Why are you in this place?" Hades approaches me and tries to frighten me with his large, tall frame.
Poor he doesn't realize that he would not stand a chance if I quickly stabbed him in the throat. But at this point in time, that would be unnecessary bloodshed.
I then smiled at him. "What do I appear to be doing? While I wait for my father, I admire my good looks."
"Nathan left the building."
"Ah, so he did? Since, you know, I was speaking to Rose, I was unaware of that.
As he approached, he just smiled. Devily smiled. "I'll rip the life out of you if you touch a hair on her head."
Despite my smile, I pushed him away. "Nice to see you still supporting the Ambers. You don't need to threaten me, though. I'm going to work with her."
He closes his eyes. "How can I help?"
Now it's my turn to confront him. "This is a husband-and-wife issue. Stay away from it."
I have no idea why I said it. I don't want to irritate Hades, since I want to be everyone's favourite. She was always close to him, and it appears she still is, which irritates him greatly.
Ask me why I'm upset about it. Do it now.
"I have no clue."
I passed him to depart by saying, "She's not your wife yet." I paused and exchanged looks with him.
"She'll be."
Since there is no question in my mind that she will become my wife. Not even entirely as a result of the plan.
Before me, Rose will stoop to her knees, similar to how everyone else will.
