Chapter Nineteen
We continue on our journey for around twenty minutes, the amount of people joining our group got bigger with every second. Everyone kept telling me they're so happy that I've finally come home, which was a strange feeling. They're all saying I'm finally coming home but it's to a place I've never seen before, how could somewhere be home if I've never been there? Will it ever feel like home? Or am I gonna be so homesick it's gonna suck? There are so many questions to this which I know will get answered in time, this is a whole new life I'm about to start living which will come with a lot of unknowns.
Through this whole walk all we've been walking through is trees, just trees after trees. But now I start to see the trees begin to thin out and a clearing appears up ahead, as we reach that clearing my mouth just hangs open. There was a full town hidden away, miles bigger than ours but I've never even heard about or seen this. I look up at Cody so surprised that he sends me a little laugh, I was not expecting this!
"Welcome home Erika, this is the main town to our pack" Cody smiles as I'm led further into this amazing place, there were shops and I think we even past a school on the way "this part of town is where all the pack members live" he further explains as we come to a sort of crossroads, either side of us where streets of houses which looked as though they went on for miles.
"Now if we carry on up, the pack house is ahead here and all the important buildings and our house" Cody smiles leading me away as we pass so many people, they all send me a wave and cheer as I go by.
Not gonna lie this was getting kind of overwhelming, are these people really that happy to see me? We continue our journey where straight ahead a huge building stood, people were busily going in and out.
"Here is the main part of the pack, the pack house" Cody explains happily pointing at the gigantic building in front of me, that explains it "just down there is the training grounds, where all the border guards and fighters train" Cody points to the left of the pack house, where a huge field stood with another building at the edge.
We start to walk right of the pack building, the crowd that was following us stops outside the pack house and starts to wave at us as we went. There was only me, Cody and Scott walking down this path, I wonder why they haven't followed.
"Now this part is ours, the regular pack members are restricted from coming down this part, this is for the Alpha and Luna, his Beta and Gamma" Cody says as we continue on our journey, right in front of us where three buildings.
They were also huge, the middle one being the biggest. They didn't touch but weren't that far away from each other either, I'm not gonna lie these are huge mansions.
"This is the houses of the Alpha, Beta and Gamma" Cody says as we come to stop, in front of each house were huge gates.
The one on the right a sign read "Beta", the one on the left read "Gamma" and the one in the middle read "Alpha and Luna".
"This is where we live" Cody says pointing to the middle house, which was also the biggest out the three.
"I thought the Alpha and Luna lived in the pack house" I say still in shock at the size of the houses in front of me, I'm not lying when I say these have to be the biggest houses I've ever seen.
"Someone's been doing their homework" Scott smiles from beside Cody, let's be honest I didn't have much choice if I wanted to stay in the loop.
"Yes that is common in the werewolf world, but I wanted the pack to feel like the pack house was for them and not just our house" Cody explains which was actually really sweet "so everyone is welcome in the pack house, let's say if a rouge is wanted to turn their life around and hopes to join the pack, most Alpha's would throw them in the dungeons until they made a decision, I let them stay in the pack house where we can monitor and see how they act around the other pack members, it's really helped to speed up how long I make a decision" Cody explains while Scott laughs walking backwards towards his house, wait Martha would live there!
"That and Cody didn't like the fact that the pack members would be walking in and out of his house" he laughs still walking backwards, Cody laughs nodding slightly.
"Yeah and that, but we also have this private place where we can hold meetings and just be away from the pack members" he says defending his decision "do you think the king has random people walking in and out his place?" He asks looking between me and Scott as he spoke, Scott just laughs shaking his head while I speak up.
"He has maids and servants there constantly" I say correcting him, Cody looks surprised staring at me but soon smiles.
"Which he pays to be there" he says trying to pick holes in my statement, but I'm the pro at these types of discussions.
"Don't you pay your pack members for the jobs they do?" I ask partly not knowing and partly proving my point.
"You've met your match!" Scott laughs now standing at the gate of his house "I better get going, Martha will kill me if I don't ask, can she come around and see Erika later on?" Scott asks opening the gate, that makes a smile take over my face at hearing I could see Martha.
"Yeah we can all have dinner together in the pack house" Cody says which does make me wanna circle back to our previous conversation, but I hold off just happy I get to see a familiar face.
"I better let you get off, see you tonight" Scott smiles before turning and walking up the steps and into his house.
Cody turns to me smiling before leading me through the gate of his house and up the stairs, he reaches in his back pocket pulling out his keys and opening the door.
"Welcome home" he smiles letting me walk in first, I smile taking my first steps into the house, it was huge.
As you walk into the house there is a huge staircase leading well, upstairs. The downstairs was all open plan, with the kitchen and dining room one side and the living room/sitting area on the other. From the patio doors at the back, I could see how huge the back garden actually was. All of that's from just what I can see where I was standing, there was probably loads more to see upstairs.
"You live here?" I ask amazed still looking around, what can one person do with all this space?
"We live here, this is our house" he tells me taking me by the hands, all this was so much to take in.
"I only found out about you and what we are last night and I'm already here, it feels like a dream" I say where he just smiles placing a kiss on my head, I will never get used to the sparks that just erupt all over my face when he does that.
"Since I found you this is all I wanted, you to be home with me where you belong, I was thinking of so many ways I could have told you about us and how I would be able to get you here, it was quick but I'm so happy" he smiles pulling me closer to him, I just nod still taking in the little bits of the house "the officer crossing our border gave me the opportunity, thank you for that" he whispers but I just give him a look, I didn't admit to that!
"I have no idea why you're thanking me, I had nothing to do with that" I try to lie but can't help the smirk that formed on my lips "he deserved it" I mutter looking away slightly as Cody just lets out a laugh, in seconds his lips were on mine but I pull away.
"I need a house tour" I smile sweetly taking his hand and pulling him, he groans but soon smiles starting to show me around.
My new home.
