Chapter Eighteen
For a few seconds it was silent, my dad would look at me than at Cody shocked. While the crowd behind me started whispering and Justin made his way over to stand in front of me. The silence is soon broken by my dad starting to chuckle, okay not how I thought he would react.
"I'm sorry I shouldn't be laughing, but I don't know if you're joking or not" he laughs looking over at Cody who's face hadn't changed, so I'm gonna guess and say he isn't joking "do you really think that I'm gonna hand my daughter over to you, I'm sorry Tyler but I'm not giving my daughter to them" my dad says shaking his head as I make eye contact with Cody, not gonna lie I kind of wanted to go.
"They'll kill me if you don't! They won't harm a hair on her head, she's friends with these people!" The annoying officer shouts still trying to fight to get up, I mean could I say I'm friends with Scott we've spoken twice? But for Cody, we're definitely more than friends.
"For once this scum is making sense, we will not harm Erika in anyway, quite the opposite" Cody smiles sending me a sly wink, thankfully my dad doesn't catch onto that.
"No, I'd rather you attack the town again than give you my daughter" my dad says crossing his arms and looking to the side, well that's not a smart thing to say to people who would have no problem with attacking the town once again.
"I can assure you, that could be arranged" Cody smirks turning to look to me, my dad doesn't like that fact and grabs my hand beginning to pull me away "I'll give you a second to discus" Cody shouts as we reach the edge of the woods, this is when I stop my dad from pulling me around.
"Dad, I think you should let me go" I say which I'm not kidding when I say my dad looked mortified, fix this Erika!
"Not because of what that annoying officer said about me being friends with them, but just imagine what we could do with me on the inside" I tell him not knowing where I was going with this, I somehow had to think of the direction I was trying to go.
"And why would we want you as an insider, you've been on their side this entire time" my dad points out with a raised eyebrow, yeah I didn't really think that part through.
"That was before you told me about mum, they took my mother away from me for reasons we may never know, I wanna make them pay for putting us through all the hurt they have over the years" I whisper to make it seem like I didn't want them to hear this conversation, I knew if they did Cody would know what I'm doing "put it this way, I could be the insider giving you information on whatever they're planning and to top it all off, they trust me!" I exclaim quietly, I was really putting the effort in to leave.
"I'm not sure Erika, what you're saying does sound great, but I don't like the thought of me sending my only daughter into the enemies camp, alone" he says still holding off on letting me go, but I knew he was slowly coming around to the idea.
"Daddy I'm a big girl now, this would be our best shot on taking this pack down and making them pay for what they've done to the town, but also what they've done to our family" I say taking it back to me doing this for the greater good, if I leave I'll get the freedom I've been craving for years but also, I'll get to stay with Cody "you never know I could come across mum, there I can ask her why she did what she did and tell you she's there, this has so many pros that's it's really weighing out the cons" I say wrapping up my whole speech, just hoping my dad will cave and give in.
He's silent for a moment and I could tell by the look on his face, he was thinking. He was probably running all the different scenarios I told him about, if I was trying to convince myself this was a good idea, that speech would have done the trick. After what feels like forever he finally looks over at me, this time with an unreadable expression.
"Okay, if you really think that this is a good idea and you can handle it, but you ring me every day to let me know you're okay" he tells me pulling my phone out my pocket and holding it in front of my face, wait a call everyday that would just ruin me trying to leave.
"Calling you everyday would look too suspicious, how about once a week?" I ask taking my phone off him to slip it back into my pocket, he gives me a look seeming like he was rethinking the decision "we can set a specific time each week, when I first arrive there I'll call you than from that day on, that time will be the time I ring" I say giving my dad the same look I would as a child when I wanted something, he looks at my face letting a sigh out.
"Fine once a week, but even if you're 2 minutes late to the phone call, me and the town will storm that place" he says pointing back to where everyone was standing, I nod wrapping my arms around him just thanking him.
"You can trust me, I won't let you down" I say holding him tightly, he also wraps his arms around me telling me to be safe.
After awhile, my dad and I start to make our way back over to everyone, my eyes soon lock with Cody's where I send him a smile. A smile fills his face as he probably knows what's gonna happen, now it's getting closer I was starting to get nervous if I'm being honest.
"We have decided to agree to what you want, but I swear if you hurt my daughter I will end you" my dad says pointing right at Cody's face, Cody holds his hands up smiling "now we're gonna do this properly, so I know you don't try anything" my dad says while telling one of the towns men to hold my arms and lead me over, Cody tells one of his men to do the same.
Me and the annoying officer are led to stand right on the edge of either border, the towns man reaches and takes the officers arm in his while still holding mine. The man on Cody's side does the same thing and holds my arm, they both look at each and start to count down from three. Once they get to one they both pull, in no time I was over the border and in Cody's pack.
I turn back to where I was just standing and make eye contact with my dad, he looked beyond sad and worried stood there. It was such a weird feeling, we weren't even a foot away from each other but it felt like we were at opposite sides of the country. I start to worry that I made the wrong decision when I feel an arm going around my shoulders, I look up and see Cody stood beside me.
"You made the right decision, but let's be honest we got the better end of the deal" Cody smiles over at my dad, who didn't look as happy as Cody did "now I've loved this chat but we must get going, I have someone to show around her new home" Cody smiles moving his arm from around my shoulders and holding it up, I take his arm with my hand as he turns.
We begin our journey away from a town I call home, to a town I've never stepped foot in. I turn around to look at everyone, my dad was holding up his phone indicating I needed to call him when I get to where we're going. I nod my head before turning back around.
"I'll look after you Erika" Cody whispers as we walk, I turn to look at him smiling just as we turn down a path.
Now we were out of eyeshot from the others he places a soft kiss on my forehead, I send an even bigger smile up at him.
"Let's take you to your new pack" he smiles as the men around us start howling and cheering, I guess they're happy.
"Finally! A Luna!" One cheers from beside me fist pumping the air, I give him a strange look as the others start to do the same as him.
"When I found you, I told the pack and that's all they've been doing, they're so happy that the pack has its Luna now" Cody explains as more people join are group and continue to cheer.
Wait I am their Luna, that's a huge job and responsibility......I'm in!
