I'm a Girl
They must have been walking for what felt like hours. Sweat beaded their brows. Ivy leaned heavily against a tree, panting.
"Is it just me, or am I getting tired easily?" Aria gasped.
Garsam cursed under her breath. Her chest bands were killing her!
"Let's take a break," she suggested.
Aria perked up at this. "There's no need; we should cover more ground. The longer we delay, the more she merges with that demon."
"Which is better? We get there faster but dog-tired, or we rest a bit and fight with full strength."
Aria slumped. "This is frustrating!"
Ivy already made herself comfortable. Her head tilted back, leaning on the tree. She snored softly. Aria's eyes twitched.
"I guess we can rest a bit," she conceded.
"I need to pee." Garsam turned and walked into the cluster of trees. If she didn't adjust her binds soon, she would faint.
Garsam looked and made sure no one had followed her before she took off her top. She stretched her hands behind her and loosened the binds. As her full chest popped out, she knew something was different. So it hadn't been her imagination. The transformation also affected the size of her chest. Her lips twitched. What the hell?
She wasn't flat-chested, but she was far from busty, and using a chest bind always had ensured that she did not grow much in that area. But the transformation reversed that. She looked down at the round melons on her chest. How was she supposed to hide this without suffocating herself?
They were sensitive and painful too; she poked them. She could hear Scar roll his eyes in her head.
'I wonder for how much longer you can hide it.'
Garsam chuckled aloud. "Rather, you should wonder for how much longer we can live."
"Who're you talking...ahhhhh what the hell!" Aria screamed. She waved her hand over her face, but she couldn't seem to look away. She looked a little sick.
"Urgh, my eyes! What the trans fuck is that!?"
Garsam's heart jumped to her throat, and she hurriedly pulled the top on. She couldn't even be bothered with the chest binds.
When she raised her hands trying to calm Aria down, the girl exclaimed and moved away.
"Why do you have boobs?" Aria yelled.
"I bought them at a supermarket! Why else will I have boobs?" Garsam snapped.
"You're... you're a girl?"
"Oh look, Einstein finally woke up."
"How can you be a girl?"
Garsam droned. "Well, when two X chromosomes come together..."
Aria, who had substantially calmed down, offered her a middle finger. "Don't fuck with me; you know what I mean."
Garsam straightened her shirt. "I have my reasons."
"For lying to everyone? They call you princely heir! Does your pack even know? Sick."
"I would rather have been caught by a drunk parrot," Garsam groaned. She picked up her abandoned binds and folded them into her pocket. She headed for the group.
"Hey, tell me!" Aria bounced around her. "Pretty please? Come on, we're Acabi; we should have no secrets between us."
Garsam paused and sighed, then she opened her mouth as if to speak. Aria listened in anticipation.
"No," Garsam deadpanned.
When they got to the group, Aria took one look at Garsam's full chest.
"Garsam is a girl!" She announced.
Ivy, who had been sleeping, popped her eyes open and looked at them. Ares turned as well.
Aria looked at them, expecting to see their surprised and shocked expressions as well, but Ivy licked her lips and went back to sleep, mumbling something.
Ares smiled at her. "I know."
"What do you mean, you know? How did you find out?"
Garsam also turned to look at him, she recalled how Lev had called her a girl the moment they met, had he also known since then?
Ares shrugged. "You haven't practiced magic for long. These kinds of things can't be hidden from a five-year-old witch."
Aria looked at Ivy. Ivy would have found out a long time ago as well, so she was the only one ignorant? She pouted. That's not fair, and now she felt stupid.
"Why do you pretend to be a boy?" Aria asked again, this time with a frown. She just couldn't guess why.
Garsam shrugged. "You can't call it pretence... I mean, in a way, I'm half male."
Aria's eyes widened in shock. Her eyes scanned Garsam from her head and stopped below her waist, right on her crotch; she was searching for an extra bulge.
Garsam followed her line of sight with a dark face. "Don't think nonsense! I'm simply a girl in my human form; my wolf, on the other hand, is male."
"Woah, how's that possible?"
Garsam sighed. "If it has happened before, I never heard it; I'm a wolf base pup, meaning my mom gave birth to me a wolf pup, so you can guess what happened next."
"Ooh shit, you were thought to be a male child; I'm guessing it was quite the shock when you transformed into your human form?"
Garsam nodded. "To prevent such a shock, my mom had me remain a boy."
"Your dad doesn't know?"
"He doesn't."
"I'm guessing the woman with him last night is not your mom? She seemed too young."
Garsam clenched her fist; she didn't reply.
"I left my pack this time as an envoy to Clearwater and also to run away."
"I had found a strange man on the mountains near my pack, and if the intoxicating scent he exuded is any indication, then I believe he's my mate."
"A mating ceremony will convey one of two things, the wrongful impression that I swing the other way...or the truth that I'm, in fact, a girl, not suitable to be Alpha, and my mother's position as Luna will be as good as gone."
"...Wow, that sucks; why can't you be a female Alpha?"
Garsam shrugged. "That's just the way it is... I mean, I've heard of a pack with a female Alpha, but that was long ago; I don't think the pack even still exists."
"And the man you believe is your mate, did he leave? Is he human, wolf, or witch?"
"I don't think he's any of the above; he can't be a vampire either... Also, I locked him in prison."
"There are vampires??... I'm sorry, prison? How? Why?"
Garsam looked embarrassed. "I don't know; I just saw him trespassing on our pack territories with his weird animals, so I locked him up."
"What animals?"
"You know...reindeers; one had a red nose too."
Aria blinked.
Garsam continued. "He said his name was Claus or Kriss or something."
Aria blanked. "Did he mention his dad Santa?"
Garsam saw she didn't believe her. "I'm not lying!"
Ares piped up. "She's not."
"See," Garsam exclaimed. Then she frowned and swiveled to face Ares. "How do you know that?"
"I've met him."
Aria gasped dubiously. "You have? What's he like?"
Aria leaned in close and took Ares' hand in hers. Her touch was soft and warm, and it sent a tingle of electricity up his arm. He couldn't help but smile as she looked at him expectantly, waiting for his reply.
"He seemed to travel a lot; as for his identity, he told me he came from the north so ..."
"Wow, so he's really Santa's kid! What does he look like? Cute? Handsome? Jolly?"
Ares' face darkened progressively. How could this little girl ask him about another man so excitedly?
Ares pursed his lips. "He's only so-so, plain at best."
Garsam's lips twitched at his shamelessness.
Aria dulled; she released his hand. "Oh."
She turned to Garsam. "So what do you plan on doing? If our burden is resolved and you die, will he have to remain in prison forever?"
Garsam frowned. "I'm sure he can escape just fine."
"Mmm, I don't know how you could resist him, and even throw him in prison; from what I've read, a mate's pull is pretty strong." Aria paused as she remembered something. "Oh right, it shouldn't be so hard, you know throwing your mate in prison; my so-called mate did it to me."
Garsam feigned ignorance. "Gasp. Who was that?"
"Your friend, Sinbad."
Ares watched Garsam act with a blank expression.
