Jingle bells
SAM
Scar turned in a spot
'what was that' he growled
Sam wasn't sure so she didn't reply. The tip of Hound rock had broken off in the impact of the crash and lodged in the snow right in front of her.
"Let's find out"
Scar took the path once again up Hound rock.
They could hear the pained groans of the reindeers, and the sound of faint cursing.
The crash site was not as bad as it had sounded. Snow was heavy in the mountains so they crashed on snow padded ground. But it was still quite the impact. The reindeers were groaning but otherwise looked fine. On the other hand the sleigh had capsized, trapping it's rider underneath. Two of the four reindeers were furtively trying to turn it over.
At the sight of a large wolf they abandoned their task and stood in a defencive arc around the sleigh.
"What's wrong? Get me out!" A deep male voice called out. He probably felt their pause and wondered why. Sam sneered in her mind at the foolish reindeers. In her human form ten of them couldn't stop her talk more of now that her wolf was in control. And two of them even looked shaken.
Scar sidestepped the quad, he let out a threatening growl that forced them to retreat. But they still glared at him with their big brown eyes. Especially the red nosed one. Scar noticed him, he was probably their leader, looking as the others seemed to hide behind him. Sam smirked and took control from Scar. The cold hit her first. She walked to the sleigh. Behind her she could feel the now more than ever, frightened gaze of the reindeers.
'I guess they've never seen a shifter before'
She thought
With a small heave she reached under and flipped the sleigh back up.
"Woah" the man called "haha you guys did it...who are you?"
The seat belt had kep him firmly in place. His dark hair was messy with snow and his pale face looked nearly bloodless, but his eyes were dark forming a sharp contrast to his pale skin.
Sam just stared at him. He was dressed in a red shirt and red shorts. If not for the fact that he looked so casual not to mention very young she would have thought he was Santa.
"Who are you?" She asked in return.
"Nope" he replied as he unlocked the seat belt and jumped down from the sleigh "I asked first"
"You're in my territory, you either answer or—well I have many ways to make you talk"
"Territory?" He seemed to ignore the not so subtle threat and looked around "we're on a mountain, and as far as I know you can't buy land here...can you?" He didn't seem very sure.
"It is the land of my ancestors"
"Oh...Kay er fine I'll go first since it's polite, my name is Claus, but you can call me Kriss" he added with a charming smile
Sam raised an eyebrow, Claus? Was that a coincidence or...."why will I call you Kriss when your name is Claus?"
"It's... You know what never mind"
Sam turned "follow me"
"Oh where?"
"To my pack"
"Pack? Like your friends? Can I bring my reindeers along?"
"Whatever"
Along the way he tried talking to her but she didn't bother replying.
She mindlinked her omega.
'prepare a cell'
She turned to the group behind her and added
'a big cell'

The pack grounds was in sight. She could see the small plain inconspicuous building at the edge. The building led to the underground pack cells. She turned to the man that had been talking all the way down the mountain both to her and to his reindeers.
"You" she started. He turned to her eager to finally receive a reply "are worse than a parrot"
His face fell so fast she found it hilarious. But her cold expression didn't change. She turned and continued walking toward the pack house.
At the pack border. A—larger than normal—number of warriors were guarding the entrance. Sam subconsciously furrowed her brows, she would have to ask her father the reason for the sudden increase in security.
When the guards saw Sam they straightened their backs and respectfully bowed. Sam didn't pause, she gave a small nod in acknowledgement and continued walking.
The guards' eyebrows twitched at the sight of the black haired stranger and the reindeers but they didn't stop them.
"You got security" Claus exclaimed in a low voice "how fancy"
Sam wanted to roll her eyes.
Sam took them to the prison house. Her omega was standing at the door. She bowed when Sam got close.
Without giving her a chance to speak Sam asked "is it done?"
"Yes sir"
Sam turned to Claus, her tone was dismissive "she will take you to your room" her expression didn't change even as she told a blatant lie.
Claus nodded in satisfaction "I can't stay long but thank you, and my reindeers?"
Sam glanced at the hooved quad behind him her voice was dry "it's a very big room"
"Ahh, thank you for the trouble then"
Sam didn't reply instead she left but not before throwing her omega, Ayra a glance "you know what to do"
Ayra whose head had been down all along bowed even further "yes sir"

Her father's office was not too far from the pack house. Her father's omega stood outside the door. He bowed in greeting. She nodded.
"Is father in?"
"He is in, Alphas from nearby packs arrived today bearing bad news. They called an emergency meeting"
Sam frowned "what is the problem?"
Kale shook his head "I do not know"
Sam put her hand to the door, she shut her eyes. As a wolf base she had keener senses.
She could hear a gruff voice arguing "what do you mean? Should we ignore them because it does not affect us yet?"
Another voice retorted "of course not. I mean if we send our people over now what if they get turned?"
Sam frowned, turned? Turned to what? She focused and continued listening.
"We should at least send some representatives to scope out the situation"
"I will not send my men out to certain doom"
A different voice spoke gravely "we can't wash our hands off of this or act like we do not know"
"I already said I do not mean for us to totally ignore them, we can send some medicine to subdue the..."
"Near my pack" the solemn voice interrupted.
"What?"
"Near my pack" he repeated " a feral was found near my pack, that's only a short distance from yours and even shorter in distance to the royals"
Sam realized who he was, Alpha of Silver Wolf pack the second best pack in the world. They were not special in strength or glory, but they were great in the fact that they were the richest pack in the world, their wealth gave them a great advantage, also he was the father of her best friend. Sam caught another keyword 'ferals'.
She was no stranger to the word. In the early days of werewolf kind a night out during the full moon turned a wolf feral, but as time progressed wolf became immune to the mutating rays of the moon. Sam frowned in contemplation.
The door handle shook. Sam snapped out of her thought and slinked to the other side of the room. Kale smirked in amusement, Sam chuckled as the door opened. Four men stepped out. Her father was the last. The alpha of Silver Wolf pack smiled kindly at her
"How are you boy"
"The heir of Royal pack greets you" she straightened from her slight bow "and how is Logan? he has been out of reach for the past few days"
The Alpha's eyes glinted but he chuckled "don't mind him, he's probably off playing somewhere"
Sam didn't believe him but she nodded. Her father gave her a dismissive glance and looked away. Sam subconsciously clenched her fist. He had always been like this cold and apathetic. He never cared for his 'son'. He only spoke to her if it was related to pack matters. Sometimes she imagined telling him that this his son likes boys, just to see his reaction, the shock and red faced anger, but she wouldn't dare.
He could not find out that her mother never gave birth to a male child or else forget losing her position as heir he might actually kill her and her mother. He was that uncaring. Her mother the Luna always said she took after him. But Sam knew she could never be as cruel as he is.
She recalled the words he spoke to the other alphas right before the door had opened
"We will offer them a show of assistance, so that if ever we need it they will be forced to help us, even if they can only end up cannon fodder"
