Virgo's Reason
"I'm sure you have a lot of questions."
Aria glared at the witch; she had changed back to her original form. Aria longed to tear her apart, but she was afraid of hurting Sue. Then again, even if such a fear didn't exist, she couldn't do any harm to the witch now because she couldn't move, the witch had her frozen in place. She had tried to use her scream, but that didn't work either; instead, it seemed to serve as a source of amusement for the witch as she watched her struggle.
"Why are you doing this?"
"Do I need a reason to be bad?"
"Of course you..."
The witch interrupted. "But then again, I do have a reason. You know, death is not the end of anything; it certainly wasn't the end of my hate and anger."
As she walked towards Aria, her figure shrunk until she was Sue.
"I'll start from the beginning. I wasn't raised like a normal child, or even a normal witch. Powerful, my coven called me, and they trained me to harness that power and become their greatest weapon."
"I had no complaints since it was the only life I knew. Soon, it was time to carry out the mission I prepared my whole life for: seduce a minor pack Alpha."
"Surprising, right? I was also surprised. I thought I would have to take down the Royal Pack or any pack within the top five, but instead, my mission target was a minor pack. 'Destroy from the inside,' they said, and as their puppet, I accepted."
"Getting to Clearwater Pack, I was seductive, an enchantress. My target was the Alpha, who knew before I'd even look for him, he would find me himself. 'Mate,' he called me." Here she smiled fondly. Such an expression on Sue was rather odd.
"I was pleasantly surprised and glad too. My mission would finish even faster than anticipated. I was to turn the whole of Clearwater Pack to ferals; what better way to achieve that than as their beloved Luna."
Aria's eyes widened in shock.
"You see, I have such power, but it can only be effective at a close range; hence, I accepted his mark and became Luna. Perhaps my innocence and ignorance made me forget they were my enemies."
"Tch, you fell in love?" Aria scoffed. She couldn't move; it didn't mean she would just be content staying still.
"Bingo, I fell hard, so hard I really didn't feel like destroying his pack anymore, so hard... I got pregnant."
"But good things are not meant to last, especially for someone like me. He found out my secret, he cut ties with me and... he killed my baby."
She caressed something tied to a chain around her neck; she raised it up, and Aria saw what it was. It was a shrunken head. It was prune-like and all wrinkled up.
The witch/Sue raised the skull and pressed it to her lips. "My baby girl, she didn't deserve to pay for her mother's crimes; her death broke whatever reservations I had, so I cursed, fought them, I lost and I was killed, my heart and core were imprisoned."
Aria perked up at the word 'core.' Perhaps she has not found it yet, meaning Sue was still in a safe zone.
"I've recovered both, and I can finally get my revenge."
Aria yelled in frustration. "So what? Do you think destroying Clearwater Pack can bring you any consolation?!"
There was a sinister expression on Sue's face. "It might not—but wiping wolves and witches from the face of the earth might do the job."
The witch curled her lips and slowly returned to her own form. "I should get busy; your lover is trying so hard to get in; I can't bear to keep him out."
She waved her hand, and the large doors swung open just as Ares released a powerful strike. With the door open, the attack passed through and headed for the witch. Aria's eyes widened in fear. But the attack simply bounced off of the witch and struck down the pillar beside Aria.
Ares rushed to her. Stone and debris poured down. Ares raised a small protective dome covering both of them. The witch walked out freely, and the heavy doors shut behind her.
When Ares ascertained that it was safe, he removed the dome. Aria could also move again, and she began fearing for their mission. Ares' attack had bounced off like a harmless fly, and she had been frozen in place; how exactly could they even stop the witch and rescue Sue?
Ares held her face. "Are you okay? She didn't hurt you, did she?"
"No, no, I'm fine."
"That's good."
Aria stepped away from him and rushed to the door. Just as she expected, when she pushed it, it didn't even budge.
"Shit, she locked us in!" Aria cursed.
"Can't you do something?" she asked Ares.
"It's protected by powerful magic. I can't do much."
"We can only wait for help; Garsam and Ivy should be back soon." Aria paced anxiously.
How much longer did Sue even have before she fused with the witch?

"They're inside," the pathfinder squeaked; she flew towards Ivy and changed into a crystal. Ivy gently caught her in awe.
"Awesome," she gasped, the crystal flushed pink. Ivy pulled out a string and hung the crystal around her neck. Garsam rolled her eyes.
They both walked towards the warehouse. Garsam sniffed. The faint scent of Ares and Aria lingered in the air. Garsam pushed against the door, but it was locked.
Garsam shook the door. "Guys?" She called out.
She heard movement from the inside.
"Finally! We're locked in," she heard Aria say.
"How?"
Ivy came over. "What's wrong; you can't get in?"
"The door is locked," Garsam replied. She shouted, "Move away from the door; I'll try to break it down."
Inside, Aria and Ares moved away just in time to hear a thump. The door remained shut. Outside, Garsam hissed as she rubbed her arm. The door was like a brick wall, not even budging a bit.
'I can break it,' Scar said.
Garsam nodded and bent, shifting immediately. Ivy was startled by Scar.
"Scar?" She called out. Garsam had told them the name of her wolf.
The wolf turned its large head to her. It growled. Ivy stepped back.
'Behave,' Garsam warned in his head.
'I'm just teasing her,' he replied with a mental smirk.
BANG
Scar broke through the door on the first try. The broken door fell right at Aria's feet, raising dust. Garsam shifted and regained her form.
"Are guys okay?" She asked as she looked around the empty warehouse. "Did you try to take her on alone?"
"Of course not," Aria answered. "She kidnapped me and locked us in."
She looked behind Garsam. "Where's Ivy?"
"Over here," Ivy answered as she walked.
Ares frowned. "The witch is headed for Clearwater."
"What?" Everyone turned to him.
"Why?"
"I don't know, but we have to return."
"Why did she leave to begin with!? To make us chase her around?" Garsam groaned.
Aria shook her head. "I think she came here for something; her core, she mentioned it. Sue doesn't have much time left."
