Virgo is Big Bad
"A pocket full of posies..." The witch hummed and rocked side to side on the table. Sinbad could do nothing but stare. His face had turned beet red in an effort to move. Suddenly, she stopped with an eerie smile.
"My my, we seem to have some meddlesome visitors outside," she turned her head at an odd angle to look at Sinbad behind her.
"Would you like to see them?"
"Vade," she whispered.
Sinbad didn't understand until he noticed the walls crack and begin to crumble. Like an old building, the walls crumbled around till it faded away, and he could see the open sky. Only the table she sat and the chair he was currently frozen in remained. It was already late, so everywhere was dark. The sky was moonless, but his werewolf vision allowed him to make out the group of people before him.
He saw Garsam, Aria, and two strangers. Aria! His heart leapt. Get out of here!
He wanted so badly to yell, but he couldn't even move an inch, and his voice was silenced as well.
Ares held a surging bolt of magic in his hands. Aria and Ivy got close. And Garsam, with her claws revealed, growled at the witch.
Sinbad was shocked by the sight. They looked so different, the power they radiated too was overwhelming. He had never seen Aria like that, so she really was a witch and a strong one at that.
Aria noticed a figure in the chair. She could make out Sinbad's features. She hadn't faced him in a long time. If this meeting happened two days ago her heart would skip a beat, but now she glanced at him with a small frown. He wasn't moving; he just stared angrily straight ahead. Had Virgo frozen him too?
"Do you want to fight me?" Virgo asked. She swung her legs. "I didn't even do anything to you; the hostility is uncalled for."
"You're in my sister's body!" Aria yelled in fury.
"So? I'm not in yours."
"Kch," Aria let out a frustrated grunt. "There's no reasoning with you; let's fight!"
Aria straight away grabbed Ivy's hand. They ran towards Virgo.
Virgo laughed. "I don't just turn wolves to ferals; I create them."
Her eyes turned even darker, such that looking at it could suck you in. The ground around her trembled. Dark sinewy limbs shot out from the ground.
The ferals stood tall and thin, their limbs elongated and spindly. Their heads were narrow, with a wide jaw and jagged teeth. The body was covered in matted fur, with patches of exposed skin that were covered in scars and welts. Its eyes were red and beady, glinting with cruelty and hunger. They were larger and oozed more malevolence than the other ferals they had fought.
The ferals stood between Aria's group and Virgo.
"Attack," Virgo ordered.
Like unleashed beasts, they charged forward. With Ivy's hand in hers, Aria screamed. The scream was like a physical force, an intense blast of force that hit the oncoming ferals like a tidal wave and pushing them back. One could see how strong these ferals were. They shook their heads and charged forward again.
They stood farther apart so she couldn't attack them at once.
"Sentient!" Garsam hissed. Just like the one that took Ivy.
She howled and charged at a feral. The feral did not go down from her attack but instead struck back. Garsam became tangled up in her own fight.
Ares was not idle either. Some ferals loosely surrounded Aria and Ivy. He drew down thundering bolts of energy burning the one that attacked him to a crisp. He fought to reach Aria. She could not leave his sight.
"Ahhh," Aria screamed until she was hoarse. She was starting to get weak, and they only just started. The few ferals she had knocked down stood up and lumbered towards her!
Bang, it knocked against something when they got close. Aria felt a rush of warmth when she glanced at Ares. Even while fighting, he still made sure to place a shield for her.
"Let's use it now," Aria said to Ivy. Ares was busy fighting, so the shield might not hold on for long; they need to end this now.
"It's a one-shot thing; shouldn't we wait till the ferals are gone? What if we use it and one of them takes the blow?" Ivy replied. She was getting tired and a little dizzy. It seemed the greater their power, the faster they were drained. Since she was holding Aria and helping her amplify her screams, she was also losing energy.
Aria looked at Ivy's pale face. "That's why she said we could only use it once; if it drains a great amount of energy, then using it more than once would kill us."
"We'll die anyway; let's find an opening to attack, for now... let's just hang on," Ivy said, just as the shield fell.
Aria screamed, knocking a feral towards Virgo. Before it could reach her, it was slashed into two by an invincible force. Black blood sprayed about.
Virgo touched her stained face with a dark expression.
"That's enough!" She roared.
The ferals melted into the ground. Virgo spun to the other side of the table and pulled Sinbad by his neck from the chair.
She had a sinister smile. "Our main character is here."
There was a loud howl. A large black wolf loped into view, its powerful muscles rippling beneath its sleek fur. Its eyes were fierce and glowing with anger.
"I guess that useless Alpha didn't do you much harm."
The wolf bent down, and the sound of bones breaking and shifting could be heard in the silent night. Garsam cringed at the sound; thank Selena she didn't have to go through that when she shifted.
Alpha Kain appeared before them in short briefs. "Don't you dare hurt my son!"
The witch tightened her hand around Sinbad's neck; she laughed. "Oh my, do you think you're in any position to make threats?"
"A life for a life; you killed my baby girl, I kill your son and we'll call it even, hm?"
Alpha Kain growled. "Don't do something you'll regret!"
"Oh? Tell me how I'll regret it? I spent years in the underworld tearing you apart, time and time again in my head, so how could I ever regret?"
She held up the tiny skull around her neck.
"Remember it was cold that night when you threw my baby into the snow,"
"You had yelled 'Take your cursed child and leave' even though I begged on my knees for a doctor."
She laughed shrilly and shook her head. "And then you had the audacity to find a new mate and be happy."
Her eyes turned malevolent. "How could you? How dare you!!"
Manic energy surged around her. Her hair blew about her head like seaweed, and her clothes leaked black ink.
"Even dead, my soul harbored hatred like a festering wound till I was consumed by it."
"So tell me! How will I regret it?"
Alpha Kain struggled to speak. He didn't want to. It was a secret to his grave. He just had to find a way to...
Boom.
Sinbad spat out a mouthful of blood. Alpha Kain staggered back.
"Don't worry, it won't kill him, but he'll wish he was dead," the witch said. She raised her palm again and struck Sinbad on his chest.
Boom.
Another mouthful of thick blood.
"How do you like it?" The witch taunted. "Is it fun to watch your child die?"
Boom.
Alpha Kain couldn't watch anymore. "Stop! Stop!! He's your son!!!"
