15. "I Miss You."
9 Missed Calls from Axel.
Olivia looked at her cell phone screen which displayed a row of missed calls. They were all calls from Axel that Olivia deliberately did not pick up.
Not just calls. Axel also sent various messages. All of them have not been replied by Olivia.
Even until tonight, Axel is still sending messages.
Like now.
[Axel: Olivia, I'm worried about you. Pick up my phone]
[Axel: Are you okay now?]
Olivia sighed heavily, looking at the messages blankly. It wasn't her wish to silence Axel. But Olivia felt that she needed time to calm down.
Her heart was restless right now. It would be unpleasant if Olivia insisted on talking to Axel. Even though her heart wanted to talk.
"Olivia," someone was heard calling from behind.
Olivia moved her gaze, turning to look at the source of the voice. It was Katness walking towards her carrying two plates. The fragrant aroma of bacon greeted Olivia's nose as Katness approached.
"Are you okay?" asked Katness as she arrived next to Olivia.
Olivia's eyes took in the bacon Katness was carrying. She cleared her throat in response.
"No way. You must not be okay," Katness replied. Her breath came in ragged gasps as she sat down next to Olivia. "Ah, why would I say that to someone who's clearly staring blankly at her phone screen?"
Laughing in amusement at that, Olivia shook her head lightly. Her cell phone was placed on the side. It was just lying there.
"Are you still hungry? You just ate two meals," Olivia asked, looking amused at her best friend.
Let's see. Katness even ate the ready-to-eat bacon with gusto and ease.
Answering Olivia's question, Katness nodded. "Sure. Do you want some?"
"No, I don't. Just you."
"Hey, you haven't touched any food yet," Katness snapped sarcastically, a look of annoyance on her face.
Olivia, however, still had her warm, sweet knot.
"I already ate your ramyeon even though it was only one serving."
Katness seemed to swallow the food in her mouth before putting down the plate of food. With an annoyed and hurried gesture, she picked up a bowl of kimchi ramyeon.
A while ago, Katness had cooked a lot of food. She said that all of this food was also for Olivia. But unfortunately, Olivia had no appetite to eat. As a result, she devoured the plate and two bowls of ramyeon noodles.
"You have to eat this one more time," Katness coaxed, handing her the bowl of ramyeon.
Olivia frowned, inching backwards to avoid it. "Hey, no need, no need," she shook her head quickly.
A scowl escaped Katness' mouth. There was no surrender. Katness kept thrusting the bowl of ramyeon at Olivia.
"No, no. You have to eat. Hey, did you know that sad people also need energy to be sadder?"
For some reason, Olivia was provoked to laugh amused by Katness' words. Sometimes her best friend would make jokes that were just plain funny. That's why Olivia couldn't help but laugh at Katness' innocence.
"Since when is someone who is sad told to be sadder? Shouldn't you be asking me the opposite?" Olivia blatantly teased Katness.
Luckily, Katness didn't take offense at all. Although she was still annoyed that Olivia thought her words were a joke.
Finally, Katness got up and leaned over to Olivia.
Hitting her best friend with a rolled up promotional flyer. Woo-ra got it when they both bought food at the supermarket.
"Aish..." Hyun-a grimaced while holding her temple. "How could you hit me? You should have been more gentle."
"I cooked, told you to eat, even left a portion for you. Can't that be called being gentle with you?" Woo-ra scolded without any hesitation.
Hyun-a was still stroking her temple with her lips curled. Not long after, Hyun-a took a bowl of ramyeon tteobokki that Woo-ra had prepared especially for him.
"You're right. People who are sad need a lot of food for energy, so they can be more sad," Olivia said as she pulled the bowl closer.
"When you're sad, you waste energy in your body, and you feel weak and even dizzy. So, you have to eat to fulfill your energy, and then you can go back to being sad," Olivia added as she stirred her ramyeon.
Katness watched Olivia closely as her best friend began to eat the ramyeon. Although annoyed, Katness couldn't help but feel sorry for Olivia. Of course, she knew what Olivia had gone through after the rumors of her relationship with Axel.
It felt like Katness' heart was secretly throbbing with pain. As an ordinary fan, they couldn't do much. They couldn't protest against such a big modeling agency-which hadn't even issued any confirmation until now.
Olivia had already gotten a lot of flak from Axel's fans. Maybe not all, just some. But still, all the slurs she got were hurtful.
Katness really felt sorry for Olivia because she just wanted to have a quiet relationship.
"Hey, are you really sad?" Katness asked, her gaze much softer now than before.
Olivia gave Katness a quick glance between mouthfuls of ramyeon noodles. She didn't respond for a moment.
"Do I look like that?" asked Olivia, forcing the corners of her lips into a smile.
"Oh my god. I'm so bad at acting. No wonder I didn't make the cut at the movie agency."
Katness sighed heavily. "It's not a big deal that you made the cut. Look at you now, you're already cool with your work. Moreover, at your previous agency, ah... you even survived despite being treated badly."
Hearing that, Olivia chuckled. She knew what Katness was talking about. Indeed, Olivia was very stupid at the previous agency-when Axel's manager had not picked her up and signed her. Olivia remembered how she always wanted to be treated badly.
"What was I thinking at the time, Katness?" Olivia asked, smiling a little. Sadness radiated from her smile. "I just thought there would be no place that would take me."
"I don't know. You're an idiot. But you're really unlucky, Olivia. Do you know that I'm glad you finally got away from that sky-high senior president of yours? Unfortunately, at your new job, you're in trouble again."
"And bigger," Olivia said.
"Yep, bigger than dealing with your pretentious senior leader. How sad your life is, Olivia."
Olivia chuckled. For some reason, when they talked about it like this, the problems seemed funny. Not just her problems, but also her life.
How could all the misfortune and sadness of Olivia's life be funny? Why was Olivia crying so much while going through these problems?
"Hey, you should talk to Axel."
Olivia raised both eyebrows. "Hm?"
"I'm sure he must have called you repeatedly, or sent you a series of messages."
"He does both at the same time," Olivia replied with a small laugh at the end of her sentence.
Katness snapped her fingers. "That's right, isn't it? Anyway, it's not her fault, and I'm sure she's backed into a corner too.
You two are having problems, you shouldn't go through this alone. You should go through it together."
Olivia's voice could no longer be heard. Olivia was busy with the ramyeon but her mind started to wander. Actually, there was an inevitable worry in Olivia's heart.
How was Axel doing? Was he alone and crying?
Hyun-a knew that Axel didn't have a warm family. Even his friends tend to want to compete unhealthily. So how can Axel calm himself down now?
As a result, Olivia's heart was touched. Olivia picked up her cell phone again and there happened to be an incoming call from Axel. She didn't know how many calls it had been during Hyun-a's conversation with Katness.
"Pick up, don't hesitate," Katness said, coaxing.
Olivia shook off her irritation and swiped the green phone icon. She pressed the screen to her ear in a slow motion.
"Olivia! Oh my God, are you okay? Where are you right now? I was really worried about you."
Olivia's heart throbbed with pain. Why was Jungkook worried about her when Olivia knew Axel himself was hurt?
