"Somehow I still feel that Justin is the possible culprit following you, Arleena." Hugo gave his opinion as soon as he heard about the CCTV footage explanation from Arleena.
Arleena was already sitting beside Hugo with an astonished expression. One of her hands was placed on the back of the sofa as a support for the side of her face. Arleena was silent thinking about all the pieces of clues she found a moment ago.
After she had gotten an explanation from the CCTV surveillance guard, Arleena went straight back to her apartment. Arleena explained everything she found, explaining in great detail. Her explanation made Hugo look so enthusiastic to find out who was the perpetrator of Arleena's stalking.
"I can't conclude yet that the person described by the CCTV security guard or caught on the CCTV camera is Justin," replied Arleena in an agitated tone.
Arleena still felt uneasy. Even after getting the pieces of clue, Arleena didn't know clearly who was stalking her. Arleena felt the curiosity in her chest become so intense that she couldn't resist finding out who was following her.
"Ah, I feel even more uneasy after getting those pieces of clues," Arleena said as she exhaled a rough breath. She closed her eyes as she leaned her head against the back of the sofa.
Hugo looked at Arleena through somewhat pitying eyes. He felt worried when he saw Arleena who looked so anxious. It was true, the two of them had not yet found certainty about who was following Arleena. Because what they found were indirect clues.
"Did you bring the cctv footage?" asked Hugo because he suddenly thought of something.
Arleena did not answer. But at that moment Arleena swiftly took something from her pants pocket. A flashdrive was taken out and given to Hugo.
"What are you going to do?" Arleena asked Hugo with an astonished expression.
Without answering Arleena's question, Hugo got up from the sofa. Hugo took the laptop that was on the table under the television. He brought the laptop back to the living room table, right near the sofa where he and Arleena were sitting.
Hugo put down his laptop and turned it on.
"I need to make sure in person." Hugo answered Arleena's question. "By the way, did the cctv supervising security guard give out the cctv footage so easily?"
Arleena had changed her sitting position to leaning her back against the back of the sofa. Arleena nodded her head while crossing her arms in front of her chest.
"I don't know why the security guard gave the footage to me so easily," Arleena replied. "Actually, you can't give it to me carelessly. But it seems that the security guard felt sorry for me after learning that I was being followed by someone. So he gave it to me for free-although, to be honest, I know he was a bit hesitant and considered whether or not to give me the footage."
Hearing Arleena's answer made Hugo nod his head. A sign of understanding. She didn't answer and shifted her focus to the laptop screen. Hugo had installed the pendrive in a special place on the laptop. After that, Hugo seemed to fiddle with his laptop for a few moments.
"Actually I already felt something was wrong when you said about the suspicious person knowing about certain points that were not covered by CCTV," replied Hugo without looking at Arleena. His gaze was so focused on the laptop screen that was looking for the cctv recording file of their apartment.
"I didn't expect it either when I heard that explanation," said Arleena. "On the other hand, I'm also worried. He might be someone close to me. She can disguise the parts of her face that could be suspicious. Also, if she knew how to avoid the CCTV footage-like turning her back to where the CCTV camera was or deliberately putting her face aside, then she knew that I would find out. She must have also guessed that I would confirm through the CCTV cameras."
Hugo immediately stopped his movements after hearing Arleena's words. His face slowly changed to show that he also realized something that was left out of his mind. Hugo then straightened his sitting position and turned to look at Arleena.
"That means, she already knows what your habits are and what you're going to do," Hugo replied. "He can even read your movements, Arleena. Don't you get goosebumps?"
Arleena frowned. To be honest, she didn't really care about that. But after Hugo asked her a question like that, Arleena felt her goosebumps rise instantly. The look on Arleena's face slowly turned into one of anxiety. There was nothing Arleena could say at that moment.
Arleena let out a rough breath as she turned her face away. She thought of all the possibilities about who could be the perpetrator. If indeed the person recorded on the CCTV camera was the one who could read her movements...
"He also knows that we're going to find out about him, right?" asked Arleena after a split second of silence between her and Hugo.
Hugo immediately nodded his head with an equally panicked expression.
"If we're going to look elsewhere, does she also know which places we're going to?" asked Hugo in the midst of his worries.
Arleena bit her lower lip. Before Arleena said her answer, she glanced at the laptop screen. Then she flicked her chin towards the laptop screen.
"Try watching the video footage first," Arleena said as she pushed very gently on Hugo's left shoulder, signaling Hugo to turn his gaze to the laptop.
After getting Arleena's reprimand, Hugo then started playing the CCTV footage. The two of them were immediately silent without anyone talking at all. At that time Hugo looked at the laptop screen very seriously as if he wanted to find out the pieces of clues told by Arleena.
"You see that," Arleena said as she pointed to the footage of the area in front of the main gate. "I felt very odd when I saw that footage. There, there's a fairly luxurious car that looks like blue but also looks like purple. Perhaps because this CCTV footage is set in a dark background, the color of the car is not clearly visible. But, what I find strange is how did the owner of this car know that he had to park his car in that area, instead of parking in the area near this main gate where two other cars were also parked?"
As Arleena explained her opinion, Hugo tried to think hard. Hugo propped up his chin with a very intense gaze watching the laptop screen. His brain was trying to figure out what it was that felt off about the appearance of the car footage.
"I feel that the car should still be parked in this area," Arleena continued while pointing at the area in question. "But the owner of that car seems to have deliberately wanted to get rid of the license plate number so that it wouldn't be caught on the CCTV camera in front of the main gate of this apartment."
"That car... doesn't belong to a resident of this apartment, right?" replied Hugo who was looking at Arleena seriously.
"I don't think so. The security guard also told me that the person who came to the security post didn't look familiar."
"He could say that even though half of the suspicious person's face was somewhat covered," Hugo expressed his opinion.
"Anyone who is used to keeping an eye on things around them should know what is different and unfamiliar, Hugo," Arleena said.
Hugo exhaled heavily as he relaxed his seated position that had been somewhat tense. Hugo watched the screen thoughtfully, flinching once again for a few seconds. Before finally Hugo frowned as he realized something was suspicious.
"Wait..."
