29. Something That Will Crash Our Relationship
"Justin? What are you here for?"
Arleena couldn't contain her annoyance when she actually saw Justin in the lobby of the building where she worked. This was not what Arleena had expected. There was no word from Justin that he was coming to the building. Especially now, Justin seemed to be looking at Arleena intently.
"I don't think you can live in peace after what you've done," Justin said with a snarky gesture.
Arleena could see the annoyance and unacceptance on Justin's face. Seeing this, Arleena was instantly reminded of scenes in novels or movies where the male protagonist doesn't accept being hurt.
Finally, Arleena couldn't help but laugh sarcastically as she looked away.
"I don't know why you came here, Justin. What happened a few nights ago should have been enough to wake you up," Arleena said. "And, what are you saying? I can't live in peace?"
Justin's jaw hardened. He didn't answer, just watched as Arleena took a step forward. Both pairs of their eyes were locked together, as if they couldn't help but show each other's pain.
"Why shouldn't I be able to live in peace? You're not the only man I can date," Arleena retorted, forced to be deliberately arrogant in front of Justin.
Hearing Arleena's words made Justin gape in disbelief. At that moment, Justin seemed to see a figure of Arleena who was much different than what he had known so far. Justin was speechless for a few moments.
"How can you say that?" Justin almost stammered out his question.
"Arleena, it's lunchtime. Why should we respond to a guy like him?" Sassy's voice broke in between Arleena and Justin's conversation.
Arleena's gaze shifted to Sassy who was already staring at Justin with an intimidating look. Sassy showed her hatred for Justin.
"Why did you come? Your business and Arleena's business is over." Sassy pressed her sentence deliberately.
Justin also returned Sassy's gaze with annoyance. As he moved closer to Sassy, Justin raised his face and looked at the whole body. His gaze was so intense and detailed that it looked like a dismissive person.
"You better shut up. I have nothing to do with you," Justin said guiltlessly to Sassy.
Of course, Sassy didn't want to be conquered so easily. She also looked up at Justin, grinning sarcastically.
"Arleena is my favorite person, and you've become a parasite on her," Sassy retorted, her tone soft but with a firmness to it.
"Woah..." Justin laughed unintentionally at Sassy's reply. "Why do I feel so offended? You're purposely making me-"
"Enough!" Arleena immediately broke up Sassy and Justin. Arleena's slightly smaller body slipped between the two people. "Let's not cause an inappropriate scene here. Justin, I don't want to see your face right now. Go away!"
Justin frowned. "Arleena, you've unilaterally canceled our wedding and suddenly have a groom to replace me?"
Arleena was silent. But her eyes, which were trembling and sharp with emotion, looked right into Justin's eyes.
Arleena had guessed this. Having been in a relationship with Justin for years, Arleena already understood his character. Therefore, since deciding to ask Hugo as a replacement groom, Arleena had prepared herself.
"So what?" Arleena showed no guilt. Although her heart was tight, she tried to suppress her pain deeply. "Don't you see yourself? You're almost married but you're in a relationship with another woman."
"You're no different from me," Justin snapped, provoking Arleena further. "If you look down on me, you look down on me with your actions."
The corner of Arleena's right lip spontaneously lifted, forming a lopsided smile.
"That's all right. So, what's the problem?" asked Arleena. "Do you think I'm going to beg you? Cry to lament that you cheated on me behind my back?"
Justin was speechless.
Meanwhile, Arleena deliberately stretched out both hands to fix the collar of Justin's black blazzer. Arleena looked so calm that Justin became nervous.
"There's no way I'd do that," Arleena shot back. "You should be with another woman who can fulfill your self-esteem. With me, you'd feel trampled because you failed to conquer me - and... because I didn't beg, right?"
Arleena's movements halted. She lowered her hands from Justin's blazer collar. Now her eyes looked at Justin very intently.
"Think carefully about how you can conquer women. I think... you're still pretty lame," Arleena continued.
"Oh, one more thing, you're obviously guilty. You should know that blaming others without realizing your faults... is a demeaning act, right?"
Without thinking about how Justin felt, Arleena turned to face Sassy and Gabriel. The three of them walked away, leaving Justin to be led away by the security guard of the company building. Leaving Justin with irritation... and regret in his chest.

"I heard that Justin came to your office building."
Hugo's call made Arleena sigh heavily. Arleena was actually too lazy to remember about Justin's arrival.
"Justin was just venting his frustration that I dared to break off our relationship unilaterally," Arleena replied in a rather languid tone.
On the other side of the phone, Hugo had realized that Arleena was feeling distracted. Hugo had also just gotten information from his personal aide who had been sent to watch Arleena.
Justin's arrival was not what Hugo had expected. Because Hugo also felt that Arleena and Justin's relationship was over.
"Are you going to tell your parents about this? If you feel disturbed-"
"No, don't," Arleena cut in immediately.
Hugo frowned.
There was a pause of a few seconds, then Arleena spoke again.
"I've already believed it to be the past. Don't let it drag on."
