50. Find The Person Behind This All

After the conversation with Gabriel, Arleena and Hugo couldn't say anything at all. They were already in the car on their way to Hugo's apartment. As she patted the baby on her lap, Arleena watched the highway in front of her. Arleena paused as she thought of the right solution for her next plan. "How do I find out who's following me?" Arleena asked. This time it was Hugo who remained silent for a few seconds. His focus was so intense while driving the car. Hugo tried to think of a solution that Arleena was thinking of. "We can look for the culprit from the cctv footage of the restaurant, the cctv of the building next to the restaurant where you are, or maybe there are cars that are accidentally parked around the restaurant," replied Hugo who explained slowly. Hearing Hugo's words made Arleena nod her head slowly. But secretly Arleena was still thinking about how the plan Hugo said. "I didn't think about that. Maybe we can also search through CCTV footage at Gabriel's apartment," said Arleena who remembered about the CCTV camera near Gabriel's apartment. Hugo immediately snapped his fingers with an enthusiastic expression. He seemed to have just remembered because of Arleena's words. "Right! I just remembered that there's CCTV footage of Gabriel's apartment!" Hugo replied, then curved an enthusiastic smile. "Alright. We need to start devising a plan to figure out how to find the culprit who's been stalking you. So, first of all... maybe we should look for footage from the restaurant you were at first. After that, we'll look for footage from cars that might have been accidentally parked around the restaurant." Arleena didn't want to argue with Hugo's words. Arleena's gaze dropped to the baby in her arms. Arleena watched the baby for a split second, intensely. Arleena considered when she should find out who was following her. "What about this baby?" asked Arleena, turning to Hugo. Hugo glanced at Arleena, then moved to the baby on his lap. Hugo looked at the baby on Arleena's lap several times while looking at the highway in front of him. "Do you want to leave the baby back to your family or mine?" Hugo threw his question to Arleena. The situation between the two of them became silent. Arleena thought about the answer to Hugo's question. For some reason Arleena was now thinking about the condition of the baby on her lap. Ever since this baby came, even though they hadn't been together too long, Arleena felt uneasy about leaving this baby. "I don't know why I feel uneasy about leaving this baby," Arleena replied without moving her gaze from the baby on her lap. "I don't know, since Justin's arrival, I don't feel safe leaving the baby." Hugo looked at Arleena with a touching look. He sensed how Arleena felt just from the look in her eyes. Hugo knew how much Arleena cared about the baby. Especially since Justin's arrival who spread the word about the baby they were taking care of. "Yes, I understand how you feel. But unfortunately we have to do this plan so that we can find out more quickly who the perpetrator is following you," Hugo replied with a serious look. Beside Hugo, Arleena looked at Hugo with an indecisive expression. On the one hand, Arleena wanted to find out who was following her. But she was worried about leaving the baby she was taking care of with Hugo while they searched. Arleena was only afraid if the person who followed her turned out to be desperate to follow her to her parents' apartment as well. "Right... what you're saying isn't wrong," Arleena replied with her tone slowing down. Arleena seemed to be nodding languidly. Her growing concern made it seem as if she could not breathe calmly. "We'll start leaving it tomorrow. I'll probably look around our apartment," said Arleena who had begun to speak in a calm tone. Hugo had noticed Arleena who had turned her gaze towards the front. On the other hand, Hugo also felt relieved that Arleena no longer looked very worried like a few moments ago. Hugo suddenly smiled realizing that Arleena was willing to calm herself down. Not wanting to talk too much, Hugo reached out his hand and held Arleena's hand. Hugo deliberately stroked the back of Arleena's hand in order to give Arleena peace of mind. "It's okay. Everything will be fine, Arleena. I'm here to keep you company," Hugo replied.
