33. Do You Want To Make A Child? (2)
Arleena spontaneously hit Hugo's back softly in surprise at what he had just said.
When Hugo turned his eyes to Arleena while grimacing in pain and surprise, Arleena just glared at him. But Hugo didn't feel there was anything wrong with his words at that time. Instead, he wondered why Arleena hit him just because of that question.
"Papa, he's often careless when he speaks, isn't he?" asked Arleena as she laughed awkwardly to Bernard, Quinn, and Albrack.
While Hugo was still stroking the spot where Arleena had hit him, Bernard was frowning with an amused smile. The three Hugo family members looked at each other and chuckled, realizing that Arleena's situation was awkward.
The truth was that Arleena just didn't want to have a discussion like this. Because she was not ready to face a request that was more responsible. But Hugo just blurted out and made her think of the issue of children.
"Yes, he does like to talk out of turn," Bernard replied, nodding his head in agreement.
Quinn and Albrack who realized that Arleena was feeling shy also laughed. But they didn't really talk about it.
"What's wrong with the way I talk?" asked Hugo with a silly look on his face, looking at all the family members so innocently.
Arleena immediately sighed. Although she looked calm, Arleena secretly pinched Hugo's lower left waist. Her reaction made Hugo cry out in pain and surprise.
"Oh my. Why are you..." Hugo's words immediately stopped when he saw Arleena's eye gesture. It was as if Arleena was telling Hugo not to talk more about children. "... so cruel. I know you're mad at me for wanting to feel embarrassed about talking about children, right?"
Arleena's harsh sigh came out as she rolled her eyes in disgust. Arleena could not stop herself from getting annoyed with Hugo. Finally Arleena decided not to answer anything and did not want to ignore Hugo anymore.
"If you don't want to stop talking, how can the food in front of you run out?" Albrack said while pointing at the food in front of Hugo using a chin gesture.
Hugo looked at the food in front of him, then let out a rough breath. "Gosh, that's right. After all, Arleena and I actually had lunch and ate after work."
Quinn raised both eyebrows. With a gentle facial expression, Quinn replied, "Oh, yeah? You guys have been eating together since earlier?"
Hugo looked at Quinn questioningly. Chewing, Hugo replied, "Why would mom ask that? It's like it's a new thing that Arleena and I ate together."
Quinn chuckled. "Gosh, of course it's a new thing since you guys ate together after you got married."
Again Arleena choked at Quinn's teasing words. She hurriedly put her face aside while covering her mouth to block her embarrassed expression.
Arleena's reaction immediately made Hugo turn his head with a look of astonishment. Throughout the coughing, Arleena was patted on the back by Hugo.
"You've been surprised repeatedly, why are you overreacting so much?" Hugo grumbled later. In between his left hand patting Arleena's back, Hugo was still eating his food leisurely.
"Hey, get rid of your hand," Arleena said irritably as she threw Hugo's hand away while straightening her sitting position. "I'm not overreacting. I was just surprised. Mama
..gosh, why do mom and dad have to act so weird just because the two of us got married?"
Seeing the astonished look on Arleena's face, Quinn and Bernard looked at each other. They couldn't help but laugh more intensely than before. For some reason, it felt even more fun to watch Arleena's shy reaction.
"Arleena, you don't need to be so coy," Albrack retorted in return.
At that moment, Arleena tried as hard as she could to cover up her shy expression. Also, to keep her gestures from accentuating her nervousness too much. Arleena tried to turn her attention to the food.
"She always does that in front of everyone. You know, the original, Arleena-aw!" Hugo again gasped in surprise as he exclaimed once. His gaze shifted to look at Arleena's hand, which was again pinching his right hand.
Arleena signaled Hugo not to say anything. Arleena's gaze was so sharp that Hugo could immediately understand the meaning of her gesture.
After an exasperated groan, Arleena then turned her gaze towards Bernard.
"Hugo, you are very ignorant of Arleena," Bernard commented. "At this rate, it looks like my wish won't be realized soon enough."
Arleena and Hugo's movements stopped in unison. They both looked at Bernard while chewing curiously.
"What did papa ask for?" asked Hugo.
Arleena remained silent, waiting for Bernard to say the answer.
"Actually..." Bernard paused his sentence because he suddenly felt hesitant. At that moment, his gaze fell on Arleena. "Papa imagined that you would have children. But, seeing how you're always arguing, it doesn't seem possible for that to happen anytime soon."
Arleena shot a surprised look. Just as she was worried earlier, Bernard brought up the subject of children. Her guess didn't miss at all as she was well aware that a couple getting married would definitely be asked about children.
There was no answer that Arleena or Hugo could give. Both of them immediately pretended to be busy and didn't want to talk about anything anymore.
"Papa, don't talk about silly things. It's true that the wish will be difficult to do," Hugo replied, then pointed at himself and Arleena in turn. "Just look at us, there's no stopping the arguments."
Arleena didn't want to answer anything, choosing to be as mute as possible.
"Yeah, they'll have a hard time doing that."

"Oh my..." Arleena immediately flung her body onto the sofa while letting out a long breath.
Finally Arleena and Hugo returned to the apartment that Hugo had given them. After going through dinner with a conversation dominated by the topic of children, Arleena was able to leave and get away.
She didn't mean to be rude. Arleena was just uncomfortable. Seeing Bernard and Quinn who seemed to be serious about wanting a child from Arleena and Hugo, Arleena felt guilty.
"Hey, how about that dinner conversation last night?" Hugo, who had just come from the bathroom, suddenly asked.
Arleena still closed her eyes as she lay down on the sofa. For a few seconds, she just wanted to let out all the tiredness in her body. Her heart was irritated by Hugo's question because she knew exactly what he was talking about.
"Hey, Arleena..."
"Shut up. Don't talk, I'm tired," Arleena replied quickly in a snappy tone. "I don't want to discuss your question at all. You're ridiculous to bring up children."
Then shortly afterward Arleena felt the sofa on her right side sway slightly. It indicated that someone had just sat down next to her.
Arleena groaned in annoyance while clucking. She changed her body position to face Hugo.
"Will you just shut up? Why do you have to sit next to me?" asked Arleena in a grumbling tone.
Hugo watched Arleena who kept her eyes closed as if she didn't want to see him. Hugo curved an ignorant smile and tilted his head so that he could see Arleena's face more intensely.
"You're so sensitive, constantly grumbling," Hugo replied. "I'm asking you to talk about something important."
"What? What discussion?" Arleena's tone sounded annoyed as she opened her eyes and straightened her sitting position.
Hugo was surprised when Arleena suddenly sat facing him. Moreover, Arleena's eyes looked at him sharply.
"Oh my. Don't react so suddenly," Hugo replied with a horrified look at Arleena. His voice almost squeaked in fear. "I just wanted to talk to you about papa's wishes. There's no way we can keep running away."
"So what do you want?" asked Arleena.
Hugo immediately fell silent, unable to say anything. Looking at Arleena's fierce figure at him, as if preparing to kill him right then and there, Hugo was at a loss for words.
"Do you want us to make a baby now?"
