Chapter 118
Chapter 42
"Babe?!" Grayson called from the washroom. "Have you seen my razor?!"
"No!" I called back as I put on Ryder's shoes. "And why are you shaving now?! We have to leave in ten minutes!"
Grayson groaned dramatically and walked out of the washroom. "Now I have to live with stubble on my face for the weekend."
I rolled my eyes and sat Ryder in my lap. "Look, Ryder. Your daddy is being melodramatic."
"I am not being melodramatic."
"Yeah, sure," I said. "Grayson, I'll think you'll survive not shaving for the weekend. And if it makes you feel any better, you look hot with that stubble." I honestly didn't care at all if he shaved or not, but if he thought I thought he looked hot, he wouldn't complain.
He sighed and sat down beside me on the floor. "I guess I can go the weekend without shaving," he said. "Why do we even have to stay there for the weekend?"
"Because I said so," I said. "Ryder and I are staying. You can always come back."
"But you know how much I'll miss my girlfriend and son," Grayson whined.
"Oh, stop whining," I said. "Besides, I know how much you love my dad's cooking. He'll be insisting to make us breakfast and lunch and dinner."
"Let's just get ready to go," Grayson muttered. He really was being melodramatic about us staying at my parents' house for the weekend. We did last Thanksgiving and he didn't complain then. He just liked complaining about everything.
When the three of us were ready, we left our apartment, making sure we had our suitcases with us. I honestly couldn't wait until we got to my parents' house because I knew Tony was bringing Charlie to that Thanksgiving dinner and I haven't seen both of them together since they started dating. I missed seeing my OTP.
We got to the house and I got Ryder out of the backseat while Grayson got our suitcases out. Mom and Dad instantly greeted both of us with a hug, even though I saw them about two weeks ago.
Dad then told us that dinner was going to be another hour or so, so Grayson and I went to the living room where Tony and Charlie were.
And may I just say that I almost died of joy when I saw them. Tony had his arm around Charlie while her head was rested on his shoulder. They looked extremely happy to be together.
Tony saw us. "Ooh, let me see my nephew," he said.
"No way," I said as I sat down beside Grayson on the loveseat.
"Please?" Tony asked. I sighed and got up to hand Ryder to Tony.
"Oh, he's so cute," Charlie said as I sat back down. "This is actually my first time seeing him. How old is he?"
"Six months," I said.
"Now I kind of want a baby," Charlie said.
"What?" Tony asked.
Charlie rolled her eyes. "Oh, relax, Tony. I'm not saying we're going to have a baby. Besides, you're still too immature to become a father."
"Immature?" Tony repeated. "I'm not immature."
"Keep telling yourself that," Charlie said as she patted Tony's shoulder. I loved that she irritated him. It was basically her duty as his girlfriend since I wasn't around him every day to bug him.
As Tony and Charlie played with Ryder, I scooted closer to Grayson on the loveseat and intertwined my hand in his. "You know," I said. "If I had a choice to change anything in my life, I wouldn't change anything."
Grayson furrowed his eyebrows. "Really?" he asked. "Not even the assault?"
"Not even that," I confirmed. "Because if I think about it, that's part of the reason how we met. If it never happened, Belle wouldn't have hated me so I wouldn't have gotten detention that one day. She and Devon wouldn't have been bothering me so there would have been no point for you to stand up for me. So, yes, I wouldn't have changed that as well."
Grayson smiled and kissed my forehead. "You are a cheesy one, Flower." He wrapped his arm around me and I snuggled into him.
Ryder soon started crying and, of course, it was his I want my dad cry. Tony got up from the couch and handed Ryder to Grayson. Ryder soon stopped crying, snuggling into Grayson like I was. I didn't blame him. Grayson was very comfortable.
Mom walked into the living room, smiling as she looked at me, Grayson, and Ryder. "You three always look so cute," she said as she sat down on the chair.
"Hey, Mom?" Tony said. "Is Dad still in the kitchen?"
Mom nodded. "Yes, why?"
"Well, I should probably warn Charlie about him," Tony said.
Charlie furrowed her eyebrows. "Warn me about what?"
"Nothing bad, I promise," Tony said. "It's just that he can get a little... weird. You know how our students, uh, ship us?" Charlie nodded. "My dad is like that. Only ten times worse."
Mom rolled her eyes. "Yes, he's like an overgrown teenager. He goes on and on about how he ships Popson, whatever a Popson is."
"Mom, Grayson and I are Popson," I said. "You know, Poppy and Grayson. Popson."
Mom sighed. "I can never understand shipping."
"You and me both, Mom," Tony said. "Quite frankly, I blame Poppy for making Dad obsessed with shipping."
"What? No way," I objected. "I keep telling him that he's not allowed to ship people. He doesn't listen."
It wasn't long before Dad told us that dinner was ready. We all headed to the dining room and I was relieved to see a highchair there for Ryder. Mom told us that they purchased one since Grayson and I were planning on coming here more often for dinner and Ryder was now old enough to eat baby food.
Grayson and I sat down in two chairs beside each other and the highchair was put on the other side of Grayson since he offered to feed Ryder this time.
While we were eating, and Grayson was feeding Ryder baby food, Mom said, "How about we all go around and say something we're thankful for, just like last year?" she asked. When everyone agreed, she went. "I am thankful that both of my children have found someone special in their life." Both Grayson and Charlie smiled at that. "Poppy, your turn."
"Well, I'm thankful for a lot," I said. "But one of the things I am most thankful for has to be the father of my son. Because I love you a lot, Grayson."
Grayson smiled even wider than he was before. "I love you, too," Grayson said. "And I'm thankful that you, Gene and Izzy, took me in when I was in the twelfth grade when I had nowhere else to go."
What Dad said was kind of expected, to be honest. Well, for me it was. "I'm thankful that my OTP went canon two months ago."
Tony sighed. "Really, Dad?"
"What?" Dad asked innocently. "I had to wait almost a year for it to become canon."
Tony rolled his eyes. "Well, I'm thankful that my beautiful girlfriend decided to give me a chance."
Charlie smiled, and slightly blushed. "And I'm thankful that I met Tony. Because nobody has ever made me feel special like he does."
"Aww," I couldn't help but gush. "Tarlie is so cute!"
Tony sighed again. "And I should have warned you that my sister ships people as well," Tony said to Charlie.
"I only ship Tarlie," I said. "And Rolia. And Ellin."
Grayson furrowed his eyebrows. "Rolia? Ellin?"
I nodded. "Roland and Thalia. Elliot and Laughlin. And Ellin is married, so that makes me happy. And speaking of Elliot and Laughlin, how is Elliot going with her pregnancy? I haven't talked to her in a while."
"Well, I talked to Laughlin and he's about to lose it," Grayson said. "Apparently, Elliot is very moody and yells at him a lot. They just have five weeks to go. Oh, and they're having a girl and they decided to name her Elizabeth, after Elliot's mom."
I smiled. "That's sweet." Laughlin and Elliot were going to make great parents.
