Part 3: Chapter 77
Chapter 1
Living away from my parents was probably the most difficult thing I had to go through. Okay, not the most difficult seeing as I was paralyzed from my waist down for a few months. And the boy I loved tried committing suicide three times. And he was in a coma for two weeks.
But not living with my parents was way up there. They weren't there to wake me up for school or make me meals. I had to do that by myself.
In fact, I also had to wake up my roommate and make him meals because he was the laziest person I knew. I couldn't wait for classes to start so he would get his butt out of bed.
I looked at my watch and sighed. The university meet and greet was in ten minutes and he was still in bed. Looks like I had to wake him up.
Again.
I walked towards the bedroom, seeing Grayson Prince laying on the bed, his arm rested over his eyes. I heard his quiet snores and as adorable as it was, I had to wake him up.
I hopped onto bed, the sudden movement causing Grayson to groan. "Must you wake me up?" he muttered, keeping his arm rested over his eyes.
"Yes," I said. "The meet and greet starts in ten minutes and you're still sleeping."
"I was," he corrected. "Can't I sleep for five more minutes?"
"Grayson, it's almost two," I said, laying on my stomach. I propped myself up on my elbows and rested my chin on the palms of my hands. "Please get up?"
Grayson sighed, removing his arm from over his eyes to look at me. His ocean blue eyes look exhausted, which made no sense because he has been asleep for over twelve hours. "I love you and everything, but you're depriving me from my sleep."
I smiled, leaning down and pressing a kiss on his lips.
When he pulled away, he groaned. "Why did you pull away?" he asked. "I like kissing you."
"Yeah? Well, I don't like kissing you when you have morning breath," I pointed out as I got off the bed. "Come on, the meet in greet is in ten minutes. I want to check out the university and meet future students."
Grayson sighed, sitting up and rubbing his eyes. "Do we have to go?" he asked.
"Yes," I said. "Get ready. Please?"
"Fine," Grayson muttered as he got off the bed. I smiled at him before walking out of our bedroom to leave him to get ready.
About five minutes later, he was dressed and ready to go. After putting on our shoes, Grayson grabbed his apartment keys and we walked out, him locking the door behind us.
"So," he said as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder. "Want to walk there or take my car?"
"I'd rather walk," I said. "It's a five-minute walk so there's no point of taking your car."
"Fine by me," he said, moving his arm from around my shoulder to hold my hand instead.
By the time we got to the university we were going to be attending, many students were already there. The whole purpose of the meet and greet was to check out the school for those who weren't able to do it yet and to meet new people.
"Can we go back home now?" Grayson asked. "It's boring here."
"We just got here," I said. "Stay for a bit, please?"
Grayson sighed. "Stop giving me that...that big eyes and pouty lip look. I can't say no to it."
"That's the point," I said with a smile. I had my ways to get my boyfriend to agree with me, and he had his ways to get me to agree to him. Though most of the time, I was able to say no to him.
"Half an hour," he said. "Then I'm leaving."
"That's good enough for me," I said.
"Poppy!" a voice called. I looked in the direction and say one of my best friends, Belle Jones, hurrying over, pulling her boyfriend along with her. "How are you?"
"Good," I replied. Belle and I didn't really see each other much during the summer since I was adjusting into my new apartment and she went on vacation with her boyfriend. "How was vacation?"
"Amazing," she said. "I'm happy Devon invited me because I was able to get away from my family before I moved out. And now I'm at university with my friends and my boyfriend. No more Ben."
"Exactly how I feel," I said with an eye roll. I hated her older brother.
"Belle, do me a favor," Grayson said. "Drop out of MDC."
I sighed. Grayson and Belle did not like each other at all. One time, he finally decided to push his hatred for her aside, but then he claimed to hate her again. And since he hated her, she hated him.
"Screw you," Belle said with a glare.
"Screw you," Grayson shot back.
"That's Devon's job," Belle said with a smirk.
I covered my ears with my hands. "I don't want to hear it!" I said. "Can you two stop arguing for once? It's annoying."
"Whatever," Belle said. "Devon and I are going to walk around and be far away from your stupid boyfriend."
I sighed once again as Belle took Devon's hand and walked away. I turned to Grayson with a pout. "Do you have to hate her?" I asked. "She's my best friend."
"No, I'm your best friend," he pointed out. "She's second in line for that. And yes, I do have to hate her. She's a devil spawn."
"I'm not even going to argue anymore," I said. "Let's go check out the building."
Grayson and I walked into the university, hand in hand. Many people were there, talking to each other and getting to know one another. Grayson and I toured the huge building for a bit before deciding that it was time to go home.
I told him that I had to use the washroom first because I couldn't hold it in any longer. When I finished in there and walked back to Grayson, he threw his arm around me. "Guess who got a party invitation," he said.
I raised an eyebrow. "You?"
He nodded. "Yeah. Someone told me there was a sort of kick off party tonight before classes begin and that I can bring as much people as I want. Want to go?"
"I don't know," I said. "I'm not really the party type."
"I know," he said. "I just thought about asking. How about we watch a movie tonight instead?"
"You're not going to go?" I asked. "I thought you loved parties."
"Yeah, but I don't want you to be left alone," he said.
"If you really want to go, don't let me hold you back," I said. "I won't mind if you go."
Grayson looked as if he was thinking for a bit before he asked, "Are you sure?" I nodded. "Positive? You won't mind?"
"Grayson, we already live together," I said. "We don't have to do everything together. I really won't mind if you go. I promise."
Grayson smiled before kissing my cheek. "Thank you, Flower. And until the party starts, we'll watch a movie at home."
We went back to our apartment, taking our shoes off and sitting down on the couch. Grayson turned on Netflix and picked a movie before wrapping his arm around me and pulling me close to him. "Have I ever told you how much I love you?" he asked.
I smiled up at him. "All the time," I said before I rested my head on his shoulders. "And I love you, too."
Grayson kissed my head and rested his head on top of mine. After almost a year and a half of dating, I couldn't be happier to have Grayson in my life. He was the best thing that had ever happened to me. We had our ups and downs, but we made it work.
As long as he was by my side, I was able to get through university life. It was going to be easy.
That was what I thought. I had no idea what I was in for.
