Chapter 73
Chapter 42
Grayson walked into my bedroom, laying down beside me on my bed. "Are you still mad at me?" he asked.
I sighed. He was asking that every single hour for the past four days. "Grayson, I'm not mad," I said.
Grayson frowned. "I don't know about that. Recently, it feels like you're ignoring me. Be honest. Are you still mad?"
"Honestly?" I asked. He nodded. "Mad, no, not really. I'm just a bit hurt. What you said was the meanest thing you've ever said to me and I never thought you would ever say that. And I know you didn't really mean it, but... It still hurt."
"I promised I would make it up to you," Grayson said, moving closer to me, his lips hovering over my ear. "And I don't break my promises, especially to my Flower. My incredibly sexy as hell Flower."
"I thought you were incredibly sexy as hell," I said.
Grayson scooted closer to me, one of his arms wrapping around my waist. "I can settle to giving you half the title," Grayson said with a smile. "Mostly because if I piss you off today, you'll most likely tell me to screw off."
"Don't worry, I won't," I said. "Probably."
"Good," Grayson said. "So, about me making it up to you. I hope you're up to going out somewhere today."
"Do we have to?" I asked. "I'm not really in the mood to go out anywhere?"
Grayson pouted, giving me a begging look. "Please, Flower. I really want to make it up to you after what I said."
"You don't have to," I said.
Grayson pulled me closer to him, using his other hand to brush the hair out of his face. "What I said was hurtful," he said. "I know it was. And I want to make it up to you because you said you're still hurt by it. So we're going out today, okay babe?"
"I don't want to go anywhere," I said.
Grayson gave me a smirk and I immediately knew what he was going to do. "I bet I can change your mind," he said mischievously.
"No, Grayson, don't do it," I said.
"Too late," Grayson said before angling himself so his lips trailed kisses down my neck. His lips were so warm and comforting. I loved when he kissed me, but I hated when he did it so he could convince me to do something.
Well, I wasn't going to cave in this time.
I had a plan that was probably not going to work, but it was worth a shot. "You know," I said as he continued to kiss my neck. "I do enjoy you kissing me."
"I know," he murmured.
"And you're kissing me to get me to agree," I said. "And by not agreeing, you're going to keep kissing me. So the answer is still no."
Grayson pulled away and looked at me. "You just confused the hell out of me," he said with furrowed eyebrows.
"Let me make it clear for you," I said, placing my hands on the back of his neck. I pulled him towards me, keeping his face inches from mine as he hovered over me. "I am not going out today and nothing you say or do will change my mind. I promise that I am not mad at you and it won't take me that long to get over what you said. You don't have to make it up to me."
"No, let me make it clear for you," he said, moving his face closer to mine. "We are going out whether you like it or not. I don't care if you're going to get over what I said. It was hurtful and stupid for me to say. I told you that I keep my promises and I promised to make it up to you. So get out of bed before I force you out."
"You're not taking no for an answer, are you?" I asked.
"I never take no for an answer, Flower," he said, laying a kiss on my forehead. "Come on. Time to go."
I sighed. I was so determined not to cave in this time, but sometimes, I couldn't say no to him. "I really hate you sometimes," I said.
"Now that's not a nice thing to say," he said with a smile. He got off of me, taking my hand and pulling me up with him. I sighed as he pulled me down the stairs and to the front door. I was seriously not in the mood to go out.
After our shoes were on, we went to his car. For the whole ride, I was wondering where we were going. I tried asking Grayson, but he just ignored me.
When he pulled into a parking lot, I couldn't contain my smile. "The arcade?" I asked.
Grayson turned off his car and turned to me. "Yup. I know how much you wanted to go and we couldn't go the day after it opened because of... yeah, anyway, I decided it was time to come."
"Suddenly, I am less hurt about what you said," I said as I took off my seatbelt. "Thank you, Grayson."
"Of course, Flower," Grayson said.
We got out of the car and walked into the arcade. It. Was. Huge. I absolutely fell in love with it.
Grayson bought the both of us a few tokens. We walked around for a bit, trying to find something we wanted to do first. I then spotted something I definitely had to try. "Grayson," I said, smiling up at him. "We have to do Mario Kart."
Grayson chuckled, looking at the four Mario Kart Arcade GP's. I always wanted to play it and now I had the chance.
Luckily, all four of them were currently empty, so we sat down on two of the chairs. Right after we put the tokens in, two boys sat down one the empty chairs. I couldn't help but notice how recognizable they looked, but I knew I never met them before. They must have been brothers because of how much they looked alike.
"By the way," the older one said, looking at me and Grayson. He couldn't have been older than thirteen. "You're going down."
"Oh, we have a competitive little boy here," Grayson said. "Fun."
"I'm not a little boy," he objected. "I'm a teenager. I'm thirteen."
"Wow, congratulations," Grayson said as the character selection appeared on all of our screens. I picked my favorite: Yoshi.
I couldn't help but snort when I saw Grayson's pick. "Really?" I asked. "Princess Peach?"
"What? She has good acceleration," Grayson objected.
"She's not as good as Bowser," the thirteen year old boy said.
"You're really competitive, aren't you?" Grayson asked. "Because I'll have you know that nobody is as competitive as me. I'll crush you."
"Seriously?" I asked my boyfriend. "Stop being so competitive."
"No way, Flower," Grayson said. "He's going down."
"That's what you think," the boy said. "You're the one going down, old man."
"Old man?" Grayson asked. "Old man? I'm nineteen, not ninety."
"You probably drive like a ninety year old," the boy said.
"Munro, how come you do this to everyone?" the boy's younger brother asked. "It's just a game."
"You're just jealous because I always beat you, Nick," Munro said.
Nick sighed and shook his head, looking at his screen. I couldn't blame him. Munro was just as competitive as Grayson. The two of them were already trying to 'crush' each other and they didn't even know each other.
The game started and Munro already pulled ahead. He sent a smirk to Grayson, who immediately glared at him. For the whole race, Munro and Grayson basically competed against only each other. They were only using their items against each other, completely ignoring me and Nick.
In the end, Nick ended up winning after he threw a bomb and it hit both Grayson and Munro. I was ahead of them when it happened, but Nick pulled ahead of me. Grayson ended up in last since Munro hit Grayson with a shell and stopped him from crossing the finish line.
Grayson was really grumpy in the end.
"In your face!" Munro said to Grayson.
"What are you talking about?" Grayson said. "You came in third."
"And you came in last," Munro said with a smile. "So technically, I beat you."
"Well, I beat you," Nick spoke up. "I came in first."
"Yeah, for once," Munro said.
Nick frowned. "You don't have to be so mean about it."
"What are you going to do, tell Laughlin?" Munro asked. So that was why they looked so familiar. Unless they were talking about another Laughlin, I was positive the two boys were Laughlin's younger brothers.
"Laughlin?" Grayson asked. "As in Laughlin Wilde?"
"Yes," Munro asked. "And before you ask, yes, he can probably beat you in a fight."
"Holy crap, not everything is a competition," Grayson said. "I was asking because I know his girlfriend."
"Elliot?" Munro asked.
"Yeah, she's my cousin," Grayson said. "And may I just say that I like Laughlin a lot more than I like you."
"Wait, you're related to Elliot?" Munro asked. "Man, I feel bad for her."
"You know what?" Grayson asked, looking extremely pissed off. "You are..."
"There you two are!" a voice said, cutting off Grayson, thankfully. I know Munro was younger than Grayson, but that wouldn't stop him from cussing at him.
Laughlin and Elliot approached Munro and Nick. "Do you two know these two?" Munro asked Laughlin and Elliot.
Laughlin nodded. "Yeah. That's Elliot's cousin and his girlfriend." Laughlin looked at me and Grayson. "How are you guys?"
"Horrible," Grayson said. "No offense, but I'm not a big fan of your brother."
Even thought Grayson didn't say which one, Laughlin looked at Munro. "Munro, what did you do?"
"Nothing," Munro said. "He's just mad because I beat him in the game."
"You barely beat me," Grayson said.
Munro shrugged. "It's just a game. You don't have to get so mad about it."
"You called me an old man," Grayson said. "And you said I drive like a ninety year old. I'm the same age as your brother."
"So you're nine?" Munro asked, stating his younger brother's age.
"Munro, stop being annoying," Laughlin said. "Or do you want to go home early?"
"I didn't say anything!" Munro objected. "The old man is lying!" Ironically, he said it was a smile on his face.
"Holy sh..." Grayson began, but I slapped his shoulder to shut him up.
"Munro, shut up," Laughlin said. "Do you want me to take all your tokens and give them to Grayson?"
"Who's Grayson?"
"The old man," Grayson said through his clenched teeth.
Munro looked at Laughlin and shook his head. "No, no way. They're my tickets."
"Then stop being a brat," Laughlin said.
"Yes, Dad," Munro muttered, crossing his arms over his chest.
"You know, that's funny because I'm your guardian, so..."
Munro scowled at his older brother, now in a bad mood. Well, not as bad as Grayson. He looked like he was about to blow up any second.
"I think Grayson and I are going to check out some other games," I said, standing up from the seat. "Come on, Grayson." I wrapped my arm around his elbow and pulled him up. I looked at Elliot and Laughlin. "It was nice seeing you two again. And it was nice meeting you, Munro and Nick."
"You're nice," Munro said. "So why are you dating that?"
Grayson was even closer to blowing up. He didn't even care that Munro was six years younger than him. "I swear, say one more word, and my foot will be up your..."
"Grayson," I said. Even though Munro was being annoying, Grayson didn't have to snap at him. "Come on, let's just go play other games."
"And you, Munro, are so much closer to going home," Laughlin said, looking quite annoyed.
I pulled Grayson away from them, intertwining my hand in his. "How on earth is Laughlin related to that... that devil spawn?" Grayson asked.
"I know he annoyed you, but name calling doesn't make anything better," I said. "Let's take your mind of it and play more games, yeah?"
"No," Grayson said. "I'm in a bad mood now."
I sighed, but I knew how to make him feel better. I cupped his face in my hands and pressed my lips on his. "There," I said. "Now are you in a good mood?"
"Yeah, I guess," he said with a smile. "And you? Are you still hurt by what I said?"
I shook my head. "No. I know you didn't mean it. You were angry and you snap when you get mad. I forgive you."
"Thank you," Grayson said. "Now let's do what we came here for."
