Chapter 111 Escalation
"Did she answer your calls yet?" I asked Elliot, who was busy pouting on my bed.
"She still wouldn't." He groans, "It wasn't my fault that the phone connection was choppy."
"Choppy?" I asked.
He nods. "Choppy."
Okay.
"Riley is probably busy tending her boyfriend's wounds, El." You know, the one you and your brother did. Because of a misunderstanding. Because of you.
He sighs while shaking his head, "This is terrible."
"Aww." I cooed as I sat down beside him and giving him a hug, "Don't feel too bad, it wasn't totally your fault," it's true! "Verizon should also take the blame."
He rests his head on my shoulder, which has to be uncomfortable for him because he's tall. "You're the only one who doesn't hate me."
I chuckled. I encouraged him to lie down and rest his head on my lap.
"That's because I love you," I told him while gently brushing his hair through my fingers, "I will always love you, El. I don't care if it's you and me against the world." I kissed his temple, "It wouldn't matter because you are my world."
He smirks, "Aren't you being sappy, Ms. Emerson?"
I squeezed his nose between my pointer and middle finger. "And you just ruined it."
He laughs without swatting my hand away, "Bring back Sappy Cobie. I like Sappy Cobie."
"Oh do you now?"
"I do." He grins beautifully.
I took my hand off his face and bent down to kiss the mark I left on the tip of his nose, "I love you, Elliot."
He smiles mischievously and lifts his head to reach my lips, "I love you more Cobie."
With that, his lips kissed my soft and fluffy pillow.
"HA!" I laughed as I try to push him off me, "THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR RUINING THE MOOD!"
As he rolls down my bed with an "oomph" I crawled farther on the bed and reached for more ammunition, aka pillows, because I know that I just started World War III.
His head popped up from the edge of my mattress and there was a playful glint written on his eyes, "Oh, it's on."
I screeched out pure laughter as I throw a pillow at him to which he easily dodged. Ugh, reflexes.
And so I continued tossing another two at him as he keeps on saying, "Not the face. Not the face!"
With one remaining pillow, I stood up on my bed and pointed a finger at him. "I'm not going to lose to you, Langston." I said in my lame-manly voice, "This war shall end on a victory for the Emersons!"
He sighs, "Why did I have to fall for the weird Emerson one?"
I gasped and hurled the last pillow at him, which hit his handsome face, "You didn't have a choice. It was either me or my brother."
"I told you not the face!" He growls playfully and started tugging on my comforter, which pulls me towards him.
I screeched louder with laughter and automatically covered my face when he raised a pillow, "SHIELD!"
"Doesn't matter," He laughs. "FULL COUNTER!" And with that, he started smacking me with my pillow. After a few seconds, the worst thing happened. He started tickling me.
"NOOOO!" I screamed while laughing as I try wriggling away from him, "YOU'RE SUCH A DORK, ELLIOT."
He suddenly stops and bent down to look at me in the eyes, "But I'm your dork."
I grinned, "You're my dork."
"YO EL, WE HEARD YOU INTENTIONALLY LIED TO BEAT UP JAY!" The door was slammed open, revealing a grinning Weston. His brothers follow him in.
When he saw my boyfriend and I's compromising position, he simply laughed. Easton rolls his eyes while flicking his glasses before walking towards us and pull El away from me. East shook his head and said, "El, I didn't know you have it in you to hurt anybody. I can't say I'm not disappointed."
Northon snorts, "Well I can." He looks at El and raised both of his thumbs, "You did well."
I facepalmed. "He didn't do it intentionally."
West makes a shushing finger and said, "Don't worry, we won't tell anybody."
El grunts. "It's the truth. I meant no harm to anyone."
North laughs loudly. "And you expect us to believe you?"
East flicks his glasses. "He is a cop."
Noth shrugs. "Not all cops are nice."
"I'm not saying he is nice," East crosses his arms on his chest, "I'm saying that he can't do any crimes."
"There's a lot of cops that turned into criminals." West grins sheepishly. "Most of them just hide their tracks."
East scoffs. "Are you saying that Elliot Langston is a criminal?"
West raised both of his arms up in surrender, but North smirks at his brother and said, "If the shoe fits."
Irritated, I tugged on North's ear. "The shoe does not fit because my boyfriend is no criminal."
"Ow. Ow. Ow." North whines.
Elliot's phone blasted out of nowhere as I continue on tormenting North.
"As much as I enjoy seeing my brother's dismay, I must say, your phone is ringing," East said.
"It's mine. You can continue, love." El winke before walking out of the room.
I pursed my lips and yanked it for the last time before letting go and glare at the triplets. "I thought we had a conversation before where the three of you are not allowed to enter my house."
"Your mom let us in," West answered.
"Yeah, wait till I tell her about what happened."
East flicks his glasses. "It was just a dollhouse, Cobie."
"It is not!" West gasped dramatically, "It's more than just a dollhouse."
East rolls his eyes. "You're not helping your case here."
"It's not even our fault. It was all West." North grumbles while rubbing his now red ear.
West, once again, gasps dramatically. "Yeah, throw your brother under the bus!"
North scowls at him. "I definitely would."
West, for the love of guacamole, gasps dramatically -again. "Are you not going to stand up for me East?"
"I would." East shrugs nonchalantly.
I groaned out loud. "You guys are such pain in the-"
"COBIE!" Elliot rushes into the room and grabs his truck keys. "Lexus. Police station. Let's go. Now."
And that's how I left my house with triplets alone in my room. Whatever happens later doesn't matter. My car has finally been found.
