Chapter 81 His
"What's happening?" I asked Jay silently as we walked towards his car. We're currently in the university's lot and is planning to grab a meal in Burger King.
"What?" He asked while putting an arm around me. "What do you mean?"
I looked down and muttered, "The missing people, Jay."
Suddenly, he was stiff and stopped walking, making me stop too. I looked up since he's taller than me, "Jay?"
He gulped, "Riles..." I frowned and raised an eyebrow, "What...?" He pursed his lips and sighed, "Let's talk in the car."
"Okay..." I muttered as we continued walking. His car came to view and we entered it. Once seated, I waited for his door to shut and immediately pestered him, "So?"
He turned on the engine and pulled out of the driveway. "What do you want to know?"
"The missing people, Jay." I told him, "Why are you killing them?"
"Not everyone." He muttered, "I sometimes arrest them if they don't pull out a gun..."
"Oh..."
"...or a knife..."
"Ah..."
"...or a blade..."
"Mhmm..."
"...or a-"
I rolled my eyes and cut him off, "Or anything that us deadly, right?"
He smiled sheepishly at me, "Yeah... if they pulled out any weapons."
Sighing, I asked. "Why?"
"They're dangerous."
For all the brownie eating aliens sake; I know they're dangerous. It's a weapon for crying out loud!
I frowned at him, "I never knew you only have a maximum capacity of two when you are answering, Jay." I rolled my eyes from my sarcasm. "Explain."
He grabbed my left hand and squeezed it gently, "I can't..."
"Jay we talked about this-"
"It's confidential Riles..."
Sighing, I crossed my arms and pouted. "Well, can I atleast have the general details?"
He sighed, "Some are drug lords, and some are a part of illegal shippings such as human trafficking"
"What?!" I gasped, "We're still in college! Aren't they too young?!"
He shook his head, "Crime has no age."
"Oh my gosh..." I whispered. Wait a minute... "Isn't it the cops job to do that?"
He scoffed, "Oh please, they're too scared since some are related with big families."
"What? There's no one related to some bug families in our university-" I gasped, "Jessa Knelm!" To confirm my accusation, he nodded.
Jessa Knelm is the biggest female dog when we were still in middle school. She's the granddaughter of this really big business man. She's pretty but a real meanie -and also Jay's crush.
"But... but you liked her!"
He scoffed, "No, I didn't."
"Uh yeah." I frowned while crossing my arms, "Remember when we were 14? When I barged in your room and caught you stalking her? Which by the way ended up with you stating your lame excuse which was that she was hot."
At first he was silent, but then realization washed his face and he started wiggling his eyebrows teasingly. "Are you jealous?"
Obviously.
"Me?" I scoffed, "Jealous?" I started laughing awkwardly as he raised an eye brow which meant that I was fooling no one. "Yes." I snapped angrily.
He laughed, hard. Which is why I stomped his left foot with mine. Did that make him stop from laughing? Of course not. "Well I was just making up excuses to stalk her."
"Why?"
"Turns out that she was working with her grandfather that is earning big by selling off girls."
"Oh my gosh." I gasped, "I thought you liked her...!"
"Well I didn't." He picked up my hand and kissed it, "It has always been you."
I scoffed loudly and rolled my eyes. Pulling my hand from him I faced outside the window. "Yeah right."
He laughed, "I swear!"
I crossed my arms and frowned at him. "What happened with 'I don't love you so please stop loving me' hmmm?"
He awkwardly scratched the back of his head, "Hey I told you, I had to push you away for your safety."
Pursing my lips, I sighed and slumped on my back. "You were so cold."
Jay suddenly slowed down and stopped on the side of the road. He took my left hand and gave it a light squeeze. "I'm really sorry..."
Our eyes connected and sincerity was shouting from his beautiful eyes. Understanding the situation, I gave him a nod, "I know."
"I loved and will always love you, Riley Langston." He brought my hand to his mouth and gave it a light kiss, "And that's all that matters."
I smiled and gave his hand a light squeeze too, "I know."
He chuckled, "Aren't you supposed to say something too?"
"Like what?" I teased him while holding back a smile.
"Something like you love me too?"
"Nah," I shrugged nonchalantly. "Although, I really am hungry right now."
"Oh right!" His eyes widened and continued driving, "Sorry!"
"Hey Jay."
"Yeah?"
"You're forgiven."
He glanced towards me and gave me a thankful smile, "Thank you." And with that, his eyes went back to the road.
"Hey Jay?"
"Yes Riles?"
"I love you too."
Finally, the goofy smile that beamed from his face had satisfied my insides. -No, not my stomach.
~-~
"Oh come on, Riley!"
"Shut up." I frowned, slamming his car door close and angrily walked towards his mansion's porch.
"Riles!" Jay laughed as he jogs beside me. "Why are you so angry?"
"Angry?" I scoffed, "I'm pissed Jay, pissed."
"Why?"
"Why?!" I stopped walking and glared at him, "You insulted the waiter, Jay!"
He suddenly frowned, "He wrote his number on your table napkin. What was I supposed to do? Stay quiet and let him flirt with my girlfriend?"
Aww.
"No, but literally farting in front of his face is not making the situation any better!"
Just like a thin thread was cut, he bursted out laughing. "You got to admit, that was good."
Yes, he farted at the poor waiter's face. How? Well after receiving the table napkin with his number on it, Jay had "unintentionally" dropped it -which by the way means harshly grabbing it from my grasp and throwing it on the floor. Jay stood up and walked towards me, just in time for the waiter to kneel down and get the napkin. All he wanted to do was to pick up the table napkin and breath oxygen like any other humans do, polluted or not as long as it's oxygen; but Jay had other plans. While bent down, Jay had purposely farted infront of the guy's face. I pity the guy, really. And no, not Jay, but the waiter.
"I'm glad that you find the situation entertaining." Frowning, I gave him one last glare before continuing on my walk.
"Riley-"
I stopped on my tracks and turned around. "You didn't even ask for an apology!"
"So you're in his side?!"
"I'm in the customers-that-was-eating's side!"
Once inside the mansion, I was suddenly pulled back and was immediately face to face with the man I love.
"I'm sorry..." He breathed out. "I just didn't like the fact that he dared to flirt with what's mine in front of me."
'what's mine' ?!
"I'm not an object, Jay." I frowned slightly, "I'm not yours."
"Like hell you're not." His eyes widened, "You're my girlfriend, Riley. Mine."
I pinched his arm, making sure that my nails dug in. "No bad words."
He flinched in pain, but instead of loosening his grip on me, he secured his arm tighter. "You're mine. Say it Riles, say that you're mine."
"Honestly speaking, you sound crazy..."
"Crazy for you, I am."
Smiling, I felt the butterflies inside my tummy go haywire. "I'm yours."
He leaned in closer, "And I'm yours too, I promise." He was about to kiss me when I remembered that we were in his parents' mansion.
"Nope." I walked away from him and chuckled when I heard him whine. "Your parents are here. Same goes with your sister."
"Uh nope." He wrapped his arms around my waist as we climb upstairs towards his room. "She's not here."
"Huh?" I asked, "Where's Cobie?"
"She's back in New York."
"What?!" I gasped, "She didn't say bye!" I sighed, "Why so sudden?"
"She wants to escape Elliot."
"What? Why?"
"He's joining the police force and she didn't like it."
"What do you mean El's joining the police force?!" I gasped out loud, "That's impossible!"
I mean, Elliot's part of the organization that is capturing the illegal stuff illegally!
"Then nothing's impossible." Jay muttered, taking a seat beside me.
What is happening?!
