Chapter 48 Wedding Plans
"-I can also pay for your gown! And then I can also sponsor for the cake!" Mom rambled, "I can also call my friend, to call her friend that has a connection with the best priest in Rome from her cousin's mother in law!"
"Uh..." I muttered as I awkwardly look at Charlie.
He's simply smiling and an amused glint was shining in his eyes. Of course he's enjoying this.
"What do you say, Charlie?"
"I think it's good." He smiled and encouraged my mom to ramble more about her plans for our wedding.
"Great. I'm also thinking about vanilla not chocolate as your wedding cake-"
"Mom, we can pay for our own wedding." I cut her off, quite offended and flattered.
"Oh, I know." She gushed out, "I just really want the best for my daughter's wedding."
"That's the thing, it's her wedding. Gice them the chance to choose." Dad tried helping me but failed when mom literally brushed him off.
Dad silently groaned as mom continued rambling, "I remembered the time Ivan proposed to me. It was at our highschool graduation and everything was perfect." She laughed, "Well, it's perfect for me anyway. Hey-!" She looked at Charlie, "Your mom was there too! Same goes with your dad! Ooh, I think reed graduated as our validictorian-"
"Yes, yes he did." Charlie nodded.
"Yes, of course." She laughed, "Anyways, the wedding was also perfect! I remembered choosing the perfect gown for my perfect wedding, the perfect cake for my perfect wedding and the perfect groom for my perfect wedding!" Then she sighed, "Memories..."
Dad coughed awkwardly, "Yes, love. Now, why don't we let Vanchel make her own memories too?"
Mom pouted, "B-because I want the best for my daughter..."
"Do you trust her?"
"Of course."
"Then trust her to choose the best decisions." Dad smiled at me and my fiancé, "If ever they'd make a mistake, then let it be. They'll learn from it and take it as an obstacle -a challenge. It will stengthen their relationship, alright?"
Mom sighed longly before smiling and grinning like a fool, "Alright." Then she looked at me, "But I'm still paying for the cake, deal?"
"No problem." I laughed, giving my dad a 'thank you' look.
"So? What are your plans?" Mom asked, making me smile slightly.
"Well..." I looked at Charlie, "He said that he'd be the one making the plans."
"What?" My parents asked, making me scratch the back of my head awkwardly.
"Dad, Mom." Charlie started, "I, well, want to plan our wedding. Don't worry, it would be perfect."
"But..." Mom frowned, "What about the theme? What's the theme?"
"Oh, easy. Fairytale."
This time, me and my parents asked at the same time. "What?"
"Our love is as pure and as cliché as the one in the books, plus, my love for Vanch is like how a prince loves his princess -I want it cliché."
"... that's weird..." Dad muttered silently as Mom shrugged, "If... that's what you want." Then she whispered to dad which I coincidentally heard, "I'm blaming you for their... learnings."
