Isolde's POV
A strange voice interrupted our hearty conversation. 'And where do I fit in, in the plan? Aren't you guys including me?"
I turned around immediately, only to see a shadow approaching us. A tall figure with a fierce gaze, a werewolf with an imposing demeanor, Morgath the sorcerer. He's a well-known practitioner of dark magic, a hard nut to crack for years, and was banished for treason. Morgath's reputation as a dark magic believer and lover preceded him wherever he went.
As he joined our conversation, the atmosphere changed immediately, everything around him seemed complex and void of light. I can remember he was also exiled out of the Silver Moon pack two years back, actually, the first to be exiled because of his dark magic, and he's coming back now, probably for one reason: revenge.
'Ah, Morgath," What a pleasant surprise. His eyes showed that he knew what I was talking about, with a 'Your timing is impeccably needed at the moment. We were just discussing all that needed attention, including our new strategy to ensure the downfall of Jaxon Blackthorn, the Alpha."
Morgath's eyes bore into mine, assessing and calculating. 'Isolde Frostfang, Isolde Frostfeng, the great strategist that was banished wrongly. I've heard a lot about you and also your skills. From what I know back then, you were once a very important personality, a key player in our little pack that cast us away, the Silver Moon Pack. As a strategist, you can't know the value of your skills and their worth unless you put them to the test. And considering the operation we are about to undertake, I doubt if they can resist the germ on them."
I comfortably held his gaze in what looked like a competition, not ready to look away any time. His gaze with a steady stare. 'I'm here for revenge, just like you have rightly guessed. I would be the happiest, seeing my revenge plan progressing and eventually leading to the falling of Jaxon. I am here to reclaim all he stole from me, and I don't mind paying any price just to see that happening; Jaxon must go down."
Morgath nodded, a faint smile curling his lips. 'Very well, then. I think this is the point where you need me the most. I don't mind giving you my black magic, an offer that might cause something very little, insignificantly small for what you will be receiving it for, but know that it is worth everything. This dark magic will enhance your abilities and increasingly, ensure your success in this revenge mission. The price is your loyalty to me. I also desire revenge for the wrongs done to me, but I need to go through someone, and luckily, I found you. Loyalty is a very simple word, but it's very important to me; never forget that."
Elder Clatus interrupted his speech, a green snake in green grass. 'Yes, that's very right. Morgath's magic will do a lot of things for us; I believe so much that his offer to help will amplify our efforts. If we stick together and work with one objective, we will have high chances of bringing down Jaxon and destroying the entire Silver Moon Pack falls, an avenue to reclaim and gain access to all we ever desired."
As we continued to lay out different plans and did get the odds of it working out for us, the old fire that burned in me days ago pushed me to take a step toward achieving my revenge. The betrayal o my pack that had led to my banishment will never be forgotten. I had resolved that I would never forgive any member of the pack until I carried out my plans.
I was laughed at, openly embarrassed, stripp, ed off my position as the pack's strategy, and l, are cast out by my pack. They didn't look back, at least to see my good deeds in the pack, my years of hard work, my sacrifices, and my efforts, but they still cast me out at the slightest wrongdoing. Before I was banished, I was a great force to be reckoned with, sacrificing my all to a pack that doesn't care about me, but I am ready to strike back, to ensure that those who had wronged me all go down.
The plan was ready, everything was set, ready for execution. With Elder Clatus' influence and keen eye in the pack, Morgoth's supply of dark magic, and, of course, my contribution as a former strategist to the pack. I had inner knowledge of the Silver Moon Pack, their weaknesses, their strength, and even down to how they respond to situations. With our collaboration, we were more than ready to disrupt the peace in pain and create a storm in the Silver Moon Pack. Even the foundations of Jaxon Blackthorn's rule will be shaken.
As we rounded up, and I took my leave to go back to my hiding, I left the camp to come back prepared to execute my plans. The night air felt harsher, not welcoming as it tore into my skin, sending shivers down my spine. The path to vengeance was never friendly; it has always been crowded with thorns, but I am ready to walk through it if that's the only option to get what I desire. Nobody messes with me and goes free, not even the pack that gave me life; they must pay for betraying their seed.
I have agreed to the collaboration of Darius, Elder Calitus, and, Morgath, but my plan is right inside of me. We are all struggling for a place at the top, aiming only for one position, and it's only one person who will take that. But with this collaboration, they will just be a means to an end for me.
Jaxon's POV
WE MET AGAIN
How did we arrive at this point? The Silver Moon Pack, my pack, was on the brink of going extinct; threats kept flying in from all angles, anchored by angry wolves coming back for revenge and ungrateful household enemies. From all that had been gathered, Darius Nightsha, along with a few others, was seriously making plans to destroy the pack, angry about being exiled years back for their unfaithfulness.
As the day continued to count, I can tell you that the rumors weakened our defenses. All efforts to revive the warriors were proving abortive, and at that point, I knew we needed allies if we were to scale through and survive.
In my search for allies, I had journeyed to a nearby pack for help, the Night Howlers. I was desperate for support, so I approached their encampment. But my little search for help led me to an answer that I had been longing to get.
As I got closer to their camp, my heart tore into pieces at a fighter that reminded me so much of Liora. The only difference was the carriage. Liora was never a fighter and never raised her chin high, but this figure has her body but the opposite of her qualities. "Or could it be Liora? How did she get here?" I kept wondering, but I would soon get the answer.
Yes, it was Liora, the beautiful Omega I had rejected foolishly, now everything I never imagined she could be. Tall, more beautiful, and gracefully ethereal. She transformed into a stronger lady; her aura was impeccably exuding confidence and power. The beauty that was once in my palm, but I had pushed her away foolishly, I was speech and void of how to react. Who could have thought that she was still alive and, most importantly, the best version of herself?
Her beautiful eyes met mine briefly, and she smiled genuinely. What a pure soul. It is only wisdom and growth that could make someone do that. The genuine smile showed that her growth was not only physical but deeply rooted in her personality.
The woman I had once rejected and humiliated publically, disgraced and pushed out onto the cold streets, now stood before me, not just as an Omega, but as a powerful figure, her beauty radiating and a reflection of her inner strength.
'Liora, is that you?" I finally found my words. 'You've transformed so much into someone that I… I can't even recognize again…"
She smiled even more, and with the sweetest and smoothest voice ever, she responded, 'Alpha Jaxon Blackthorn. It's been such a long time. What brings you to Night Howlers?"
I was shocked at her calmness. That says a lot about her personality and about her growth. I expected to see traces of bitterness or anger, or for her to show displeasure at what we did to her before, but none of such happened. She was just an embodiment of serene confidence.
Taking a deep breath, I rehearsed my scripts in my head before saying them out. 'I ...I went to Night Howlers to find allies. But just seeing you alone has made my journey successful, even if I end up not getting the help I wanted. At this moment, I can't even express how I feel. Maybe awestruck at your transformation. I must commend you for not allowing all we did to you to keep you down. You've become incredible at your craft, and I am happy for you."
Liora narrowed her eyes at me jokingly, noticing how uneasy I was. 'Thank you so much. I've worked really hard to get to where I am today. It cost me a lot to become who I am now, and I am grateful to you for pushing me to be my best."
I moved closer, with an apologetic gaze. 'I owe you a lot; I and many others at Silver Moon Pack owe you an apology, Liora. For everything we put you through, even though you were a part of us. Starting from the rejection and the humiliation, they were too much, and I was wrong. I regretted my actions after you left our pack, and I have never been the same again; everything turned upside down."
She continued, smiling radiantly. 'I don't think there's a need for apologies; we shouldn't dwell on the past, Jaxon. Everything that happened is in the past and is behind us now. All that matters now is just the present, and the present we shall live in."
With regrets. 'You've done so well for yourself in becoming a formidable force. And once more, I'm truly sorry for the way I ended things foolishly between us. I wish I hadn't made such a mistake and allowed others to push me around and dictate what I do with my life. I wish I had put the effort into discovering your worth and helping in shaping you."
This time around, Liora took a step closer by herself, still smiling brightly. 'It's alright, Jaxon. The past has, in one way or the other, taught us different lessons, which shaped us into what we are today. We wouldn't have grown if we were together, but the most important thing is that we all handled the challenges well, turning them into positive energy.
