Liora's POV
He gazed at me, determination reflecting in his eyes. "We must stick together, Liora. If he attempts to isolate either of us, it'll weaken our bond's strength—and that's when he'll strike. But the only people are the rest of the warriors, if any of them betrays us it might affect the bond ."
"Agreed," I stated firmly. "But if we play our cards right, we could reverse the situation. We could make him believe we're weak and vulnerable, enticing him into a trap of our own."
A smile spread across Jaxon's face. "So, we allow him to think he's victorious. Draw him near the pack borders where the artifacts' power is greatest—then shut him down, forever and he would never disturb us."
"Yes!" I felt a surge of excitement, a hope that we could finally end Morgath's reign of terror over our lives. "We'll signal the warriors to position themselves. Once we sense his dark magic approaching, they can surround him. With the artifacts' power, we should be able to deflect any sorcery he hurls our way."
Pride shone in Jaxon's eyes. "You're brilliant, Liora. Together, we'll ensure that no darkness touches the Silver Moon Pack."
I squeezed his hand. "And we'll guarantee he never threatens our bond again."
For hours, we refined our plan, leaving no detail unattended to and overlooked. As the first light of dawn broke outside, we leaned back, feeling the calm certainty of being fully prepared.
"We're set," Jaxon murmured, wrapping his arm around my shoulders. "No matter what happens, we'll safeguard our pack. And each other."
I leaned into him, drawing strength from his presence. Together, we were unstoppable, united by love and the ancient power of the moon's blessing. Morgath may have his tricks and allies, but we had one another—and that was a force he could never defeat.
With the sunrise creeping in through the windows, a sense of unease lingered with me. Seraphina's information was helpful, but putting complete trust in her? That was a risk I wasn't willing to take just yet.
I looked over at Jaxon, deep in thought with a furrowed brow as he studied the map once more. "Jaxon," I started, "I understand Seraphina gave us a warning, but... a betrayal is still a betrayal. She's only here because she's afraid of ending up like Alpha Rhys."
Jaxon nodded, a sharpness in his eyes. "Exactly. We can't lower our guard, even if she claims to be on our side now. She may have her own hidden motives. She could even be playing both sides, for all we know."
"Agreed," I said, crossing my arms. "If Morgath is as powerful as she claims, there's no way he would just let her go. He could have easily used her to lead us into a trap."
Jaxon reassured me with a hand on my shoulder. "We'll take her information, but we won't blindly rely on it. We'll stick to our plan—using the artifacts and the pack's protection. And if she tries anything..."
I smiled grimly, feeling the newfound strength flow through me. "We'll be prepared."
With our decision made, we finalized our arrangements. Seraphina would lead us, but our warriors would monitor her closely. She would only have limited access to the pack grounds, and any hesitation would not go unnoticed.
As we completed the preparations, Jaxon turned to me. "She may believe she's deceiving us, but we will outsmart her. We won't allow her, or anyone else, to endanger the safety of the Silver Moon Pack."
His determination fueled my own. I knew that whatever challenges lay ahead, we would face them together—stronger and more ready than ever.
Jaxon's POV
The night air felt thick and greatly oppressive, a strange calm covering the pack lands. I sensed something ominous looking at our borders, like a storm about to unleash. Every instinct was on high alert, warning me of the impending danger. Morgath had arrived, and he was not alone.
Looking at the altar in the pack hall, the artifacts from our journey seemed to glow softly, almost as if they were aware of the encroaching darkness. They pulsed faintly, a reminder of the power we had brought back to protect our pack.
I turned to Mira, who stood next to me, her eyes wide but steady. "Mira," I commanded, keeping my voice firm yet low, "sound the alert."
Without hesitation, she nodded and vanished into the shadows. Within seconds, the alarm bell rang out, breaking the silence and spurring the pack into action. Warriors emerged, ready to defend our home.
Liora appeared beside me, her expression calm yet intense. Her eyes scanned the treeline where dark figures started to appear. Gripping my weapon tightly, I watched as Morgath, Darius, Isolde, and three sorcerers approached. Their arrogance suggested they believed victory was assured.
"They think they have us trapped," Liora muttered defiantly. "They have no idea what they are up against."
Morgath's voice was mocking and chilling. "Didn't expect us, did you, Jaxon?" he sneered. Stepping closer, he taunted, "Thought ancient artifacts could shield you?"
Unwavering, I stepped forward. "I anticipated your arrival, Morgath. I knew you would emerge from the shadows like the coward you are."
A menacing growl escaped Morgath as his smug smile faltered. "Coward? You think you are invincible, Jaxon? Do you believe old magic can save you from us?"
Standing tall, I felt the unity of the pack behind me. "I don't think—I know. You came, expecting an easy victory, Morgath. But you face a different Silver Moon Pack now."
Darius jeered, his cold glare fixed on me. "Bold words, Alpha. But words won't protect you when we are done with you."
Liora's voice cut through the tension, sharp and resolute. "You underestimated us, Darius. This is not your night. This is our land, our home—and you are trespassing."
Isolde, her gaze sharp and calculating, laughed bitterly. "Home? How amusing. Your precious home will not remain standing after we finish."
"Then try," I stated firmly, my voice powerful yet low. "If you believe you are strong enough, then come and try."
Morgath raised his hand, signaling his forces forward, his grin widening. "So be it. If you are so eager to die for this pack, I will gladly oblige."
And chaos erupted.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
As soon as we found out about Morgath's intentions, I understood the importance of preparing for a full-scale attack. Liora and I put in endless effort to ready every part of the Silver Moon Pack for the impending threat. This was not just about power, but about survival and safeguarding our family and way of life. We had come too far to let someone like Morgath destroy everything we had built.
Before the alarm even sounded, Elder Marcus was already in position, holding the artifacts we had retrieved from the temple. They emitted a calm, steady light, as if they possessed a life of their own, infusing ancient power into the surrounding air. Elder Marcus, with his wisdom and reassuring presence, was exactly the leader we needed. He began chanting, calling upon the strength of the artifacts to shield us against whatever Morgath and his followers might throw our way.
Liora took charge efficiently, organizing our warriors and ensuring they were fully prepared. Her composure instilled confidence in them. I could see it in their eyes - the faith, the certainty that with her and the artifacts on our side, they were untouchable.
We were not alone in this. Malcolm and Nico, always loyal, stood by Liora, tirelessly coordinating the defenses, distributing weapons and armor, reminding everyone of their roles and the strategy. Mira moved swiftly among them, offering encouragement with a firm voice and fierce gaze. Even Calder, who usually stayed back, was actively reinforcing the borders, emphasizing the importance of unity among our pack.
Even before the enemy approached our borders, we were ready. With the artifacts' power, every member of our pack would be shielded and protected, impervious to harm. No injuries would mar their bodies tonight - no matter how intense the attack, they would endure.
As the enemy forces drew closer, I surveyed my pack. They stood proudly, united and courageous. A surge of pride filled me - we were not just defending ourselves, but our history, legacy, and future.
Just then, I felt Liora's hand grasp mine. She squeezed it, locking eyes with me in determination. "We're prepared, Jaxon," she said confidently. "No one will harm us tonight."
I nodded, sensing the artifacts' power humming around us. "Let them come. Tonight, they will witness the true might of the Silver Moon Pack."
As Morgath's forces charged forward, time seemed to slow down, each moment brimming with heightened intensity and power. The artifacts' glow enveloped us, a pulsating wall of light that shielded every member of the pack. Morgath's warriors, expecting an easy victory, crashed against it like waves against a cliff, pushed back by an incomprehensible force.
Morgath's enraged roar pierced through the chaos, his face twisted with anger. "This isn't over, Jaxon!" he yelled, venom dripping from his voice.
I met his gaze, unwavering. "You brought this upon yourself, Morgath. This is the consequence of messing with the Silver Moon Pack."
With the artifacts protecting us, and my warriors ready, I knew that no matter how hard Morgath tried, he would not be able to defeat us. Together, strengthened by the bond Liora and I shared with the pack, we would prevail tonight.
