Liora’s POV
The journey could be perfectly described as stressful, almost draining out all our energy. Battles everywhere, some irrelevant but just to test our strength, to know if we were fit to have the artifacts in our possession. Now, when we finally crossed the last border, the very one that would take us to the temple of the moon, I breathed in relief.
Everywhere was calm, free from struggles for power, free from strange happenings, even nature itself obeyed. The sacred ground was no place for any one, not when you are not qualified to enter. The moon goddess must give you a pass before you can access it.
The temple was a beautiful sight to behold, adorned with ancient stone pillars, a beautiful craft that twisted up toward the sky. The draping in ivy, and mystical haze that surrounded it got me thinking. Despite the fact that we arrived very late, almost midnight, and darkness encroaching everywhere, there was a gentle light which illuminated the path ahead of us, radiating with great intensity. Jaxon held my hand, then gave it a gentle squeeze. On his face was a glint of wonder.
Suddenly, we realized that we weren't alone any more, an invisible presence had entered, stirring the air in an uncontrollable manner, but filling everywhere with its warmth. We both halted on our track, trying to figure out what was happening. The force was sacred, unseen and untouched, yet its presence could be sensed right there.
And then, just when we were confused on what to do next, a voice, cool and soft yet powerful, finally spoke to us. It was filled with wisdom, screaming serenity beyond explanation, and I knew it could only be coming from one being: The Moon Goddess.
"Jaxon Blackthorn, the Alpha of the Silver Moon Pack, and Liora Nightingale, the true Luna of the Silver Moon Pack."came the voice, enveloping us in its warmth. "Welcome, great nobles, to the sacred grounds, originating from the old, the Temple of the Moon."
The hairs on my body stood at attention, her voice soothing the pain we had encountered on our way to the temple. Jaxon noticed my reaction, and held my hand even tighter, his eyes moving to and fro, carefully observing what was happening in the temple. The force persisted, becoming stronger each second. We knelt down, bowed our heads in reverence, and acknowledged her divine presence.
'You both have been tried in many ways, had come face to face with trials set to weigh you down, a test to your bond, to what you share in common," the voice paused, but continued after a few seconds, but it came out softer than the first time. 'And right here, you will not face any trial but to complete the step, which is the final one."
As we continued kneeling down, a silvery glow started to engulf us. It was like a rhythm with our heartbeats, resonating our inner selves. As we were still in the position, I could feel a strange power enveloping me. It was like a refillment, like the old power in another higher form. It kept growing stronger each second, it was beyond me. What amazed me was how fierce it was, but yet gentle. It was an ancient power, from my bloodline, a timeless power.
"The bond I form between fated mates is what strengthens such a pack," the Moon Goddess explained, "but if the mates happen to come from royal background, the bond must be sealed, and in the night under a full moon, and that's why you are here tonight. The sealing of the bond at the temple makes the bond more stronger and have much impact on the pack they would be ruling. It had the power to unify, protect everything in the pack, and of course, fortify the pack Silver Moon."
Jaxon glanced at my side, his eyes holding a strange light I had seen before, but now intensified. It was his love for me, the depth of his affection for me. On the other hand, I saw the responsibilities weighing him down, those coming from taking care of a pack.
I held his gaze, pouring out my heart, the content of my heart in my eyes for him to see. The light engulfing us intensified, and before we knew it, we were swimming in great intensity of light, the glow coming out in silver flame.
Just then, the full moon that we had been waiting for appeared in the night sky, and the silver glow intensified the more. The light that came from the full moon came out different. It was purer, with no dirt, illuminating a special type of light.
The goddess came vibrating through the entire place, but even in its intensity, it was nothing but a whisper.'Tonight, a sacred night to remember, under the full moon, the journey to become mates would probably be sealed. It would be your rising, the chosen Alpha and Luna of a special pack. And yes, you would operate with great power, to protect your pack, and the surrounding packs. You are different from your kind, a special breed."
The incredible power continued surging in, and I noticed I wasn't the only one experiencing it, Jaxon was also receiving a great dose of the power. This was the power entrusted to me by the spirits of my ancestors, and the moon goddess herself. It was a special power from my bloodline of royalty, something that I discovered not quite long.
Under her coverage, the new covenant of the seal, we were no more ordinary. We were just Jaxon and Liora, the Alpha and Luna of Silver Moon Pack, but with her power, the new seal, we had become great protectors. The moon goddess herself had blessed our union, something very rare, hard to come by, but it happened, we benefited from it.

The temple became as quiet as the graveyard. Immediately we felt the moon goddess leave the temple. The temple was among the most sacred places in existence. By this time, the moon had risen high on the sky, the stillness resonating with the energy surging through us.
Right there with Jaxon, standing in total silence, he gently took my hands, affectionately caressing my knuckles, and leading me toward the altar, the altar of the moonlight.
"Liora," Jaxon whispered, his voice coarse. The softness in his voice also showed in his eyes, it was mixed, and all I could see was affection and gratitude. "All these... and even more that we had achieved together, none of the accomplishments would have held water without your presence in my life."
My heart melted just staring into his eyes, his wolf, Storm growled inside of him. He was the best part of my life, a life I would have been miserable without him in it. "Jaxon, hearing this from you gladdens my heart. All the trials, the challenges were all molding us into our better version. I am also glad to have you in my corner."
As our bodies touched, he detached our intertwined hands, his right hand slipping away from mine to brush off a stand of hair from my face, his thumb pausing and resting on my cheeks. He stared into my eyes intensely, his gaze holding me captive from moving. I felt my legs wobbling, I was growing weaker every second, my legs barely carrying my weight. The temple shrank in my imagination, and only both of us existed there, not even the temple existed.
'I made you a promise before you accepted me back, that I would live the rest of my life proving my repentance, my love for you, my worth to you, and I have done great still doing great, and would even do more." He assured me. He brushed his lips on my nose, his breath fanning my face, and closing the distance between us, he pulled me into his warmth arms, and my heart started breathing wildly in anticipation.
Without saying anything, tired of talking, he captured my lips with his. The kiss ignited something dark and deep within me, searching my soul with his lips. It was soft and gentle the first time, but became fierce, going even harder on the next attempt. I became breathless when he deepened the kiss, gasping to catch my breath.
I rested my head on his broad shoulders as we parted slightly. He left no gap between us, but pulled me even deeper. His breathing was too heavy, at some point, I was beginning to suspect he enjoyed it more than I did.
"Jaxon," I called him sweetly, stylishly tracing invisible lines of the shape of his lips on his broad chest. I removed my hand, but took it to his hair. I ruffled his hair like a kid, his jaw dropping low. "Being around you is the best experience ever."
We stood with eyes closed, ensuring to devour the warmth from our voices. The moon goddess had found us worthy , to carry the lineage that was broken before by a cursed Alpha of the pack before.
