Unknown POV
Watching Jaxon stressed out and struggling to maintain his legacy was fun and satisfying. He was desperate for a solution, and trust was a luxury commodity, which he was careful to pick up from. His trust for his workers dropped drastically, and that was him trying to protect vital information from the traitor, but that was a wasted effort. I still have access to all the information concerning the pack. There was nothing he could do that would stop that. I got all the information that I needed from the pack, and without stress!
I wished for him to struggle, to cry for help from other packs, especially rivalry packs, and that's the direction he's moving to. It would only take a little time, and everything would fall in place the way I always chose them.
They were still oblivious to my identity. That was perfect, the type of deception that would keep them running around aimlessly. They do not know where their problem is coming from or where to attack from. The elders in the council were the worst ever produced. How can they agree to pointing fingers at each other, instead of stepping up to identify the real betrayal? Well, that was my gain, as it gave me more opportunity to continue feeding information to Seraphina and Morgath, and that way, the pack was crumbling beyond repairs.
This was no longer the treasure trove of recognition and loyalty, it was more of a struggle for power. And soon, sooner than expected, the Silver Moon Pack would be history. I would make sure even Morgath and Seraphina don't take over the pack as he planned. I am the one in charge!
Morgath's POV
I stood and marveled at the works of my hands. The chaos I cast upon the Silver Moon Pack was too much, but I still don't care. I will continue until I get all I want. This is just the starting point. Even the most powerful healers could not undo my curse on the pack. They tried, and I felt it, but it didn't work. I had to strike one of them dead, as he would go home and bring more forces to destroy my labor. I gave no room for such.
Likewise, I am the control planner, and no one dares challenge me in this game of power. I would rule the silver moon pack, and the entire werewolf race.
But, I am just starting; I am yet to introduce the veritable force into the game.
Today, I wasn't launching another attack again. I came with another strategy. I had come with something fun; I had brought with me entertainment. I signaled Seraphina to tag along with me. I had to include her in the arrangement so that she would remain loyal to me. She didn't know my true intentions of attacking Jaxon's pack. All her struggle was to displace Liora and become Luna, Jaxon's Luna, but I have other plans. I intend to wipe the memory of Jaxon out of existence. It was his father who banished me from my pack, and today is my turn to ensure none of his descendants sit on the throne of Alphas again. But for now, I would pretend like I am helping Seraphina until the right time to kick her out of the picture.
As she moved, she headed straight to the pack house with a smirk plastered all over her face. She was just the pawn I needed to finish this game. The exact definition of fighting your shadow.
On arrival at the pack house, most of the pack members who were still strong gathered around to identify the reason for our visit, but I had not come for them but for Jaxon. 'I need to speak with the Alpha. Get me the Alpha right away!" I thundered, and those that know me ran off to get Jaxon for me. His views widened at seeing me. He never expected that I would show up myself. I had sent a message to him before, demanding that he surrender, and I would heal the pack, but he replied rudely, insisting on not surrendering to me.
I glanced at him and I noticed his eyes lingering on Seraphina. Seraphina has been a nightmare to him since they met. She made him reject his fated mate, just for power, but all that was now a waste of effort and time.
"Why are you here, betrayal?" He asked with venom in his voice.
'To win you back as I promised you on our last encounter. You have always belonged to me, but I had to lend you out to Liora to have a feeling of love, at least, for once in her life. But I am here now, here to reclaim you." She replied to him, and I could sense all the adrenaline in his system responding to that.
Cutting them short, I spread my arms wide in a mocked greeting, ready to go straight to what brought us there. 'The great Alpha Jaxon, I've come with something that would help your pack recover again, a proposition restoration."
He made no effort to speak, but his fist was clenched tightly. Good, the response I expected.
I grinned, pleased with the tension I was creating. 'I am ready to stop all this darkness hovering around the pack, and all suffering from your pack. Ensure everyone is healed, and the magic won't disturb this pack again, but it would come at a price."
Jaxon's eyes carried coals and could burn the entire pack. 'What is the price to be paid?"
I moved close to him, and with false sympathy, I began, 'Forget everything about Liora. She is no more useful to the pack as when she first returned from Night Howlers. She claimed to have healing power, but can't heal your pack, she has lost relevance in protecting them, and from all indications, she may never rise to that height again."
Jaxon took more steps forward, his eyes blazing with fury, ready to devour all that came toward him but not me. I could sense him struggling to maintain his calm so as not to initiate a fight. That was perfect, the exact reaction I planned eliciting in him.
I gestured dramatically toward Seraphina, who smirked at holding eye contact with Jaxon. 'Take Seraphina, make her your Luna, the Luna of this pack. Renew your engagement vow immediately, and commence the wedding preparations. In exchange for that, I would stick to my side of the bargain. The pack will be back to how they used to be."
Jaxon gave out a loud and annoying laugh. 'Wake up from your dreams. Are you in any way expecting to betray Liora for your trap of a promise? I should leave my perfect mate and get stuck with Seraphina? Read my lips. That can never happen!"
But now, if looks could kill, I would have been dead, as his face was full of rage, ready to devour, and I was enjoying it.
I let out a mockery laugh. 'Did you just say that, mate? A mate that you rejected, humiliated and abandoned at her lowest. Do you still deceive yourself that she's yours? She is a weak Omega, and that's what she would remain, Jaxon. She has exhausted the power that attracted you to her. Everything is gone now. But Seraphina has a new plan for this pack. She's bringing promise when all has lost hope. I assure you, she's the best you can ever have. Having her means having me by your side. I will restore your pack through her."
I leaned in, my voice coming out now with venom. A grudge that I have been holding for so long, but I wouldn't expose it here until the appropriate time. I will keep plotting, first by planting Seraphina inside the pack. Our source of information from within the pack has misbehaved. I would clear that mess later, but until then, I have to plant Seraphina right here, my unaccustomed eyes. 'Reject my offer, and you would live to regret it." I would make you the Alpha of a graveyard, as they will remember this place for nothing."
I watch as he struggles with himself. He did not know which one to choose. He has always been indecisive, and this is another opportunity to push him around again. The pack was in trouble but he had pledged loyalty to Liora.
I had brought with me the offer that made him confused. He's once more on the bridge of responsibility and love. I had it all planned out. This is one way to draw the pack members to me. When they see he would never change in his indecisiveness, it would leave them with no choice other than to follow me.
Seraphina seized the opportunity to move closer to him, her eyes darting everywhere but between his lips. She was harboring, intending kissing him even amid this. Anything to make him coo in would be fine. 'This offer is the best you would ever have. Taking it will not only favor you, but the whole pack. I don't know Morgath to be generous like this in his offer, but he did it for you, a sign of how much he cares about you and the pack, Jaxon." She cooed. Liora has lost all relevance in this pack. She's an ordinary Omega. Nothing can change that. But I am here to bring healing to this pack, I am the good news."
The silence that followed her speech was deafening. Jaxon was hooked once more. The struggle to accept the offer was visible on his face. His indecisiveness was taking over again, after all.
I smiled in victory. This was playing out easier than I had planned. I never expected him to give in so easily. But he still kept quiet.
