Chapter Sixty-One

Austin just looks at me for a second, I had to try and act like I was somewhat surprised over what Markus had said. But I knew before Markus knew what was going to happen, Jacob gave me the heads up a few days ago. 'I mean I'm happy that you're taking us into consideration, but Payton and I can't go on the run with you Markus" Austin says turning back to talk to Markus, I knew Austin didn't want to because he knew I didn't like being around Markus but also, because of the predicament that I was currently in. 'I know it's not the ideal situation, but you're going to have to if you don't want the police to turn their sights onto you" Markus says not getting why Austin was so hesitant, I was more shocked Austin was kind of telling Markus no for once. 'We can't psychical go on the run" Austin said looking to me as he said it, I think he was trying to spell it out to Markus who clearly, wasn't getting what we were trying to say! 'Sure you can, I have been on the run before I came here and yes its hard, until you get to the place you have to sleep in car. But even when you get there, you have to keep your head down but act like nothing is wrong so no one expect anything" Markus begins to explain the ins and outs, I was more shocked that he actually just admitted that he had to go on the run once before, what the heck has this man done in his life?! 'Yes it's a physical challenge, but you two are young you'll be able to handle it" Markus says throwing his arms, Austin looks down at me sighing before turning to look at Markus. 'No you're not getting it, we can't because Payton is pregnant" Austin says spilling my little secret, my eyes go wide as I turn to look at Austin shocked, I didn't know we were going to openly tell Markus that! Markus looks away from Austin towards me with a shocked face, that wasn't information that I wanted someone like Markus to know! His eyes moves down to my stomach, which only makes a huge wave of discomfort to take over my body. 'Is this really true?" He asks looking at me as he went, does he really think that Austin would lie about something like that, what would happen in a few months when no baby comes out?! I look to Austin before nodding my head, now it was out in the open there wasn't much point hiding. Yes, it was weird to admit it as I don't think I've fully taken it in, but now Austin has opened his mouth I have to go along with it. Markus looks even more shocked as he looked around, but after a second he shakes his head. 'See this is just proof and more reason why you both need to go on the run with me, you two have so much more on stake now because of it. You don't want your baby growing up without a father" he says looking over at Austin, before he takes steps closer to me and kneels down so his face was right near my belly. He places his hand on my belly which did take me off guard, my head snaps to Austin to look for any help. This man wasn't really placing his hand on me without asking, or in general! Austin looks shocked at first but that shock, soon turns to anger as he looked down at Markus. 'Hello little baby, this is your uncle Markus, I promise that I'm going to make sure that nothing happens to you or your mum and dad" he says while I just look over at Austin for more help, this man wasn't now talking to my belly, what the heck is going on?! As I look down at him, my mind begins to wonder if this man was having some sort of breakdown. I know he's been through a lot, all of which is has done to himself. But that doesn't mean he's now turning his attention towards me or this baby, he can shove off! After he whispers something, he gets to his feet with a new smile on his face. 'This is amazing, you two need to head home and pack essentials while I get all the little parts sorted out. You just focus on you and I'll handle everything else" he says pulling his phone out, well his mood changed very dramatically. 'Meet me in this carpark in an hour" he tells us before he runs the opposite direction, so he's not even going to let us give him our opinion? We stand there in silence for a few seconds, yes I know I was expecting him to tell us we had to runaway with him. But I didn't expect him to start whispering things to our unborn child, what the heck is going on in that man's mind?! 'What the heck is happening?" I ask looking over at Austin shocked, I could tell by his expression that he was as shocked as I was. 'I don't have a clue but I do know, we can't run while you're pregnant Payton, it's not safe" he tells me which I had to agree with, being put in that situation isn't the safest. I was agreeing with him but I also knew one thing, I had to be there when Markus gets arrested. Not only because that is something that I want to see, just so he can see that I'm someone he shouldn't have messed with. But also, us being there is a big factor in Jacobs plan. 'Didn't you always tell me that whatever Markus tells you to do, you have to no matter what. What would happen if we didn't show up?" I ask looking over at Austin as I spoke, this was probably the first time I'm trying to fight to be in the same place as Markus. 'You aren't telling me you want to run off with Markus are you?" He asks a little shocked at what I was doing, but I couldn't let him catch on! 'Of course I don't, you know that I always try my hardest to stay away from that man! But I have to admit what that crazy man is saying is true, we have so much to lose now" I say looking down at my belly before looking back at him, I didn't like that I had to play this card but I didn't have a choice. Austin walks over placing his hand on my belly, this time I didn't feel uncomfortable because I liked it when he held me. 'You know that I will always do anything to protect you and the baby" he says looking me in the eyes as he went, I place my hand on his as I look back. 'I know, but you know what we're going to have to do then" I say with a little sigh as I went, he looks down but does nod his head agreeing with me, before leaning over and placing a kiss on my lips.
