Chapter Thirty-Two
It was the next morning, I didn't really get much sleep last night as my mind was just racing with all the things Austin told me yesterday. The thing I couldn't get out my head was the way he said Roman treats me, I've never thought Roman treated me badly, he's just really over protective. He's always been like that ever since we started dating, he used to walk me to and from school to keep me safe even though it added an extra hour onto his walk each day.
What also was playing on my mind all night, was when Austin told me he loved me. I didn't know how I was supposed to handle that, until Roman left I generally thought that man disliked or even hated me at times! But according to him, he's had those feelings for me ever since we met in school. But why would he constantly treat me like dirt then?
A knock on my bedroom door makes me jump slightly, within a few seconds Austin was walking in with a plate of food in his hands. That same smile still on his lips, which I couldn't help but smile back at him. He walks over placing the plate on my lap, it held three round pancakes with syrup and whipped cream over the top. I opened my mouth to speak but Austin was quick to cut me off.
'We don't have time to talk, I have planned a full day of fun for us today" he tells me walking over to my curtains opening them up, where I'm instantly blinded by the bright sun.
'Does this day have something to do with Markus?" I ask squinting my eyes to try and adjust to the light, everything that's supposed to be nice always has something to do with Markus, so it never actually turns out nice.
'Nope, Markus gave everyone a day off for some reason and I know you don't have work, why is your work having an inspection?" He asks where I just stare at him shrugging my shoulders as I went, they just sent a text saying they've been called for a random inspection and we won't have work until Monday.
'Well for whatever reason, the universe has spoken and we need to get out there and enjoy it! Well that's what you women say a least" he shrugs leaning against my door smiling at me, where I just send him a worried look back. 'Don't worry Payton, this has nothing to do with what we spoke about last night. You've done so much for me Payton, I just want to thank you" he smiles placing his head against the door, this does cause another smile to fill my lips as I take a look at my breakfast.
'Thank you Austin, you're being so sweet" I smile picking up a strawberry from the plate and plopping into my mouth, he just smiles sending me a wink before starting to leave my room.
'You have an hour and a half until we leave!" He tells me before closing my bedroom door, where I sat on my bed with a smile on my face.
I was soon walking out my bedroom fully ready for the day, the breakfast Austin made me was nice as always. As it was on the warmer side for the first time in ages, I decide to wear one of my summer dresses, actually picking my favourite white one. I make it to the living room where Austin was scrolling through his phone, but as I walk in he looks up sending me a smile.
'I'm ready, so where is it we're going?" I ask actually a little excited, I haven't had a free day without thinking about Markus in so long, I can't wait.
'We have a full day of fun planned, you're just gonna have to wait a see" he smiles taking my hand and pulling me towards the door, why's he being suspicious about all of this?!
Before I knew it, he was leading me all the way down the stairs and over to his car, let the full day of fun begin!
We drove in the car for around an hour, I kept asking Austin to give me a hint but he continued to tell me I needed to wait! I thought if I looked at road signs it would help give me a clue, but I'd never heard of any of the places we were going by! We soon pull up at a little village that was really out of the way, I take a look to Austin who was just grinning from ear to ear.
'This is open-seas flee market, my grandmother used to come here and find treasures as she'd put it. I've always known this place would be something you would love, you and my grandmother aren't that different" he smiles whilst opening his car door, I haven't heard much about Austin's family before now, from the things he's saying makes me think he has a tight bond with all of them.
I follow him out the car where he just looks around with a smile, as I reach him he wraps his arm around my shoulders guiding me towards where the main market was taking place. The village was huge, they had cute lights and bunting hanging from building to building. There were beautiful flowers hanging from every window, this place was amazing.
'This place is amazing!" I exclaim looking around trying to take everything in, I feel like even just looking around this much I wouldn't be able to see it all!
'Everything you see people selling is either grown or made right here in the village" he explains looking down at me with a smile, I think he could see by my face how much I was enjoying this place. 'People coming here is what keeps this village running, they make all their money from this market, which is why my grandmother came here every single month, it was kind of her tradition" he smiles while I look up at him, he always looks so happy when he talks about his grandmother.
'Maybe we could make that our tradition, as I don't have any of my own" I suggest with a smile, I want to come here as much as I possibly can now I know it exists.
'I was hoping you'd say that, no matter what happens in life, you and I will always come to this special spot" he smiles placing his head on mine for a hug, I smile leaning into the hug.
My first tradition.
