Chapter15
Kassandra
I followed the path for a while until the fog started to clear. Once the fog was gone, the woman from my vision appeared and she was sitting on a rock. She looked up and she smiled at me.
"I have been waiting for you for quite some time, Kassandra."
I was surprised that she knew my name and I asked her.
"How do you know my name?"
"How? I was there when you were born and you were my favorite girl in Cassina. After all, I am your Aunt."
I was shocked by this revelation and I asked her.
"You're my Aunt?! no way, that's impossible. My Father told me that my only Aunt was killed when he exiled the dragons from Cassina."
Katrina looked surprised by this and she asked me.
"Kassandra, don't you remember? your mother and I were the ones who taught you everything there was to know about casting spells and creating potions. You used to be curious about the dragons and you loved them."
"I loved the dragons? and you said that you taught me how to cast spells and make potions with my mother?" I asked a confused tone.
"Yes, don't you remember this?" Katrina asked me as she held up a four-leaf clover that was inside of a glass bookmark.
"When you were seven years old, we were in the meadow with the dragons and then you found this. I still remember how you and your friend, Zen, got dirty after searching for this. You gave it to me for my birthday."
"I'm sorry, I don't remember giving that to you."
Katrina was shocked and then she asked me.
"Well, what do you remember?"
"All can remember from my childhood was my mother teaching me how to cast spells but, I do not recall you being there. I also remembered the day when my father told me that she died. I still remember watching the dragons fly away into the sky with their hordes and they were never seen again until now."
"So it's true, Lily was right. You lost all of your memories about us and the dragons."
I was surprised when she told me this.
"What do you mean I lost my memories? I don't remember bumping my head as a child."
"I know and that means someone had done something to you to make you feel all this hatred towards the dragons and forget about us. Hold still for a moment," Katrina told me before she raised her hand and then it glowed a little.
I felt a sharp pain in my head and then Katrina pulled back her hand and she was shocked.
"What the hell was that?!" I shouted at her.
"Just as I suspected, it's dark magic!"
"Dark magic?" I asked in a surprised tone.
"Kassandra, do you remember the person who did this to you?"
"No, I don't remember," I said as I tried to think who would use a dark spell on me but, nothing, it's like something is blocking my way.
Katrina walked around me and then she touched the back of my neck and I heard her gasp.
"...I should have known, it was Zara."
"Who?"
"Zara. She is known as a dark sorceress and she was kicked out of our coven after practicing dark magic. She was also responsible for messing with your memories. I knew Scott wanted to hide the truth from you and the people of Cassina but, to go this far."
"Wait what?! my father asked a sorceress to mess with my mind? but why? why would he do such a thing to his own daughter?"
Katrina looked at me and then she sighed.
"Come with me, there's someone you need to meet and he will tell you everything."
"Who?"
"He's an old friend of yours, The Elder Dragon, Kydre."
For some reason, that name sounds so familiar but, I couldn't remember where I've heard of that name. I followed Katrina and then we got to a cave. We went inside and then Katrina spoke up.
"Lord Kydre! my niece Kassandra is here."
I squinted my eyes and then sky blue eyes appeared from the shadows and then I watched as a green-grey dragon emerge from the shadows and then I watched him rest his head and stomach onto the ground. I noticed his horns were cracked and broken, his wings were torn and worn and it looks like his scales have fallen off of his body.
'Whoa, what happened to this guy?'
"If you're wondering why I look like this, it's because of my age, Kassandra. I thought you already knew this."
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to stare. Wait! you know my name?!" I asked in a surprised tone.
"Of course, my horde and I have known you since you were a child. I used to be your favorite dragon and you always begged me to take you for a ride and you loved it."
I was surprised when he told me this and then Katrina told him.
"Pardon me, my Lord but, Kassandra doesn't remember any of this."
"What? why? what happened to her?"
"Scott ordered Zara use her magic on Kassandra's mind and now, she's filled with hatred for dragons just like him and she doesn't remember me, you or the other dragons who used to play with her including Zonar and her best friend Zen."
"I'm shocked! how could do that to her?! I knew he was desperate to hide the truth about the mate bond but, to go this far-"
"Whoa! whoa! whoa! mate bond? who had a mate bond? why does any this have to with my old man ordering a sorceress to mess with my mind?" I interrupted Kydre.
Serana and Kydre looked at each other and then he said to me.
"You will the truth in a moment but, first things first, let's do something about that terrible spell."
I looked at Kydre confused until he sat up and then he took a deep breath before I felt a strange warmth wrapping around me. I gasped a little when I felt some sort of heat hit me and then I felt something being burnt off the back of my neck. Once Kydre stopped breathing on me, I shook my head and I rubbed the back of my neck.
"What did you do?"
"I removed Zara's mark, your memories will return to you right about...now."
After he said this, I felt a sharp pain my head and I clutched my head in pain. I screamed in pain and then everything came flooding back to me. My eyes widen and then...I remembered everything.
