Chapter29
Kassandra
Zen and I raced each other through the sky as we headed back to Drago's horde. I was surprised at myself because I was flying very well for my first shift as a dragon. Zen was also impressed when he noticed how well I was doing for the first time.
I did have a few hiccups here and there but, I trust Nuri to help me with my dragon form. Once we got back to the horde, the other dragons snarled and growled at me and I know why.
"Uh, Zen? what do I do now?"
"Just picture your human form and then you'll turn back to normal."
Zen explained to me before mist appeared around me and I was back in my human form. The other dragons looked shocked and surprised when they saw me. Just then, Drago came over to me and he said to me.
"It worked?"
"It worked, did you see my dragon form?"
"I sure did," Drago spoke as he hugs me tightly.
"I'm so proud of you, I only wished I could have been there to see it."
Zen came over and he said to me.
"I hate to interrupt your little romantic moment," Drago glared at him as he continued. "But, after I told Lord Zonar the good news and he's just told me that King Scott is in the forest with his army and Zara is with him."
I frowned when he told us this and Drago growled.
"If he wants a fight, he's got one."
"He sure does and I can't wait to see the look on his face when he finds out that I'm no longer his daughter and that witch's power will not affect me this time."
I spoke with a smirk and then Drago said to me.
"Don't get cocky, Kassandra. You only mastered your dragon form but, you still need to learn your new powers too."
Aunt Katrina came over to me and she said to me.
"He's right but, we don't have that much time. I guess you'll need to learn as we fight King Scott while rescuing Zonar."
I nodded my head in agreement and I couldn't wait to see him again. I looked at Leo but, he looked angry for some reason.
"He's angry and upset," Nuri spoke through the mind link.
"How do you know?"
"Like you, I also have a special ability. I can sense another person's emotions and I can also tell whether they're telling the truth or spreading lies."
I was impressed with her ability but, I was also worried about Leo and I had a feeling there was something that he wasn't telling us.
Leo
After I heard that woman is with the King, I couldn't help but frown angrily. I walked over to the edge of the lake and I sat down with a frown on my face.
'How long has it been since I last spoke to her? I must have been 10 years old before I left home for good and losing all contact with her.'
"Leo?" That angelic voice spoke up.
I looked up and it was Crystal. She walked over to me and sat beside me and she asked me.
"Are you okay? you looked angry when Zen was talking about Zara and King Scott."
"I'm fine...I guess...I'm just worried about Kassandra's safety and yours too, even though the both of you are powerful dragons."
Crystal giggled and she then rested her head on my shoulder.
"You don't have to worry about me, I can take care of myself and I'll be sure to keep an eye on Kassandra. She is gonna need someone to teach her how to use her breath attacks as well."
I nodded my head in agreement before I rested my head on top of hers. Just then, Kassandra came over to us and she asked me.
"Am I interrupting something?"
I jumped away from Crystal and I said to her.
"Uh, how long have you been standing there?"
"Not long," Kassandra spoke with a smirk but, she loses it afterwards.
"But seriously though, I noticed that you looked angry when we mentioned Zara. My dragon spirit Nuri also spotted it too. Leo, is there something you're not telling us?"
"No..."
"Lier."
Kassandra spoke bluntly and then I noticed her eyes glowed a purple color which did scare me a little. I sighed in defeat and then I told them.
"All right, all right you got me. The truth is...I know Zara."
Kassandra
I was shocked when he said this and then Crystal asked him.
"You know her?! but, how do you know her?"
"It's because..." Leo hesitated for a moment before he told us. "It's because we're related."
I was surprised when he told me this and then asked him.
"Related? you mean you're blood-related or half related?"
"Somewhere among those lines...Kassandra, remember when I was first assigned as your bodyguard and you asked me if I had family members left?"
"Yeah, I remember. Why?"
"Well...I lied about that. I only said it because I don't like talking about my family because of my mother. She hates me and she saw me as her mistake and when I was 10 years old I left home."
"That was round about the time when Scott was looking for recruits for his army even if they were at a young age."
Leo nodded his head and Crystal asked him.
"But, how does all of this related to Zara?"
Leo was silent for a moment until I realized something.
"No way...Leo, is your mother...by any chance?"
"Yes. Zara the Dark sorceress, is my mother."
I was shocked when Leo revealed his mother to us and I was not expecting her to be Zara of all people. Crystal was just as shocked as I was when he told us this.
"She's what?! Leo, why didn't you tell us in the first place?!"
"It's because she saw me as a mistake."
I was even more shocked when he said this and then he continued with his explanation.
"*Sighs* when I was little, my mother didn't pay much attention to me and when she does, it was always 'go and play with your friends Leon' or 'Go find something else to do, Mommy is busy right now, Leon.' I didn't know why she tried to push me away and ignore me but, that was when I discovered something. The reason why she hated me, it is because of my father."
"Your father? you mean, he doesn't know that you exist?"
"Well, yes and no, he has seen me but, he doesn't know that I'm his son."
I was confused by this and then Crystal asked him.
"What do you mean? is your father in Cassina?"
"He is..." Leo looked angry before he continued. "And, he's also the same guy who we're supposed to defeat."
My eyes widen in shock and then Leo nodded his head.
"That's right, Kassandra. The real heir to the throne is me. I'm King Scott's son."
