Chapter5
Kassandra
I didn't know when I fell asleep but, it was one of the peaceful nights I had in a while before I had that vision about the black dragon and the priests. I opened my eyes and I found myself in the cave when we arrived last night.
I sat up and I looked at the dragon and he was still asleep. I looked down at myself and I was wearing a white sleeveless dress. Memories of last night came back to me and I knew that I had to get away before the dragon decides to eat me for breakfast. I carefully and gently pushed the Dragon's talons away from me so he can loosen his grip on me.
Once I can move, I climbed out of his grip and I took a few steps away from him. I sighed in relief and I fixed my skirt before sneaking away from him. However, his tail shifted and it blocked my exit. I gasped in fear and when I look over my shoulder, the black dragon had woken up. I trembled in fear and then I ran the other way to escape but, the dragon curled his tail around my waist and he pulled me back towards him.
The dragon uncurled his tail and I collapsed onto my knees. The dragon stared down at me as he stood up. I scrambled onto my feet and I tried to run again but, the dragon quickly moved in front of me to stop me from escaping. The dragon growled a little before he stalked towards me. I backed away from him until I landed onto the pile of gold coins. I leaned back as far as I could until the dragon moved his snout closer to me and then he started sniffing me.
I didn't understand why he was sniffing me unless he was playing with me or should I say his food.
"Oh for crying out loud! if you're going to eat me just get on with it!!" I shouted at him as I shielded my face with my arms.
The dragon growled a little before his body turned into black smoke. I sat up a little and I saw a man emerge from the black smoke. He has black hair that reached his shoulders, pale skin and aburn eyes. He also wore black pants and I also noticed his 8 pack.
"Why would I want to eat you, my beautiful mate?"
I was slightly in shock when I looked at this man up and down.
"What...? how...huh..." I was completely speechless as I stared at him.
"*Chuckle* I always get the same reaction."
"What are you? I thought you were a dragon."
"I am, well, sort of. I'm a shapeshifter, basically, I'm a dragon that can shift into a human and into his or her true form."
"A shapeshifter?"
"Seriously? you've never met a shapeshifter before? but then again, what would the people from Cassina know about us since we were exiled many years ago?"
The man spoke with a smirk on his face before he came closer to me. I quickly got back onto my feet and I ran to the other side of the room.
"Stay away from me!"
"Hey take it easy, I'm not gonna bite you. Unless you want me to," He asked with a flirtatious look on his face but, I wasn't falling for it.
"I don't believe you! my father told me the dragons are not to be trusted or else they will betray that trust and kill you!"
The man suddenly started laughing at me and then he said to me.
"You honestly believe what your old man has told you about us? Listen, little mate, there's nothing to worry about, your father has clearly spread lies about us."
The man came closer to me and I tried to get away but, he was quicker than me. The man grabbed me by the waist and he pinned me against the wall.
"Now enough talk about this, my name is Drago. I'm the leader of the horde and I also go by the title Dragon Lord. What's your name?" Drago asked me as he sniffed my neck and shoulder making me shiver a little.
I gasped a little as Drago continued to sniff me and then he ran his hands from my wrists to my waist and torso.
"What's your name?" Drago whispered before kissing my neck.
"Hmm...my name is Kassandra...I am the Princess of Cassina."
Drago smirked against my skin and he said to me.
"Kassandra, huh? that's a pretty name for Princess like you. So you're related to King Scott huh? interesting."
I glanced at Drago and then he pulled away from my neck with a smirk on his face.
"Who would have thought my mate turned out to be not only the Princess of Cassina but, the daughter of the King who exiled us and killed one of my brethren."
"That's because he killed my mother!" I glared and shouted angrily at him.
"Are you sure about that? because that's not how some of us remember that day."
"What are you talking about?"
Drago smirked at me and he stroked my cheek.
"I'll tell you when you stop hating us and falling for me."
I smacked his hand away from me.
"I will never fall for you! you kidnapped me!"
"I didn't kidnap you, the dragon priests did and they brought you to me, you are my mate now."
"What does that even mean?"
Drago smirked and he caged me in his arms. I blushed a little and then Drago said to me.
"It means you are my soulmate and you belong to me now. Why do you think I kept sniffing you and stopping you from escaping last night?"
"I don't believe in soul mates and even if I did, I don't want my lover to be a dragon, the same creatures that killed my mother!"
Drago growled and then he gripped onto my arms tightly. I flinched in pain when he did this and Drago then told me.
"How many times do I have to tell you? we were not responsible for your mother's death!"
"Stop it! you're hurting me!" I shouted and then Drago snapped out of his anger before releasing me.
"I'm sorry, I have a really bad temper."
I backed away from him in fear and then Drago gave me a soft look.
"Hey, don't look so afraid, I'm sorry."
"Stay away from me!!" I shouted before making a run for it.
I left the treasure room and I ran through the halls. I came to a halt for a moment before memorising the way we came in and then I took a turn.
"Kassandra! come back!" I heard Drago shout but, I ignored him as I continued to run.
I found the exit and when I got outside, I was shocked and amazed at the scenery. I saw dragons in different colours and sizes flying about and I also watched some of them shift into their human forms and they also have women with them too but, I couldn't tell if they were dragon shifters or human. I didn't have time to explore, I needed to get the heck away from that man.
I ran away from the cave and I tried to find the hole where Drago flew through last night but it was hard to spot it. I came to a halt when I saw more dragons and then I hid behind some bushes before they spotted me. I panted a little before I saw Drago running towards the ground of dragons.
"Sparx, Midnight!"
The two dragons and their mates turned to look at them before the dragons shifted into the human forms.
"Oh hey, boss, when did you get back? did you get your mate?" The man called Sparx asked him.
"Good news is, I have found her but, the bad news is, that little vixen ran away from me."
"Well, she couldn't have gotten too far, come on, let's go and find her."
I got up from my hiding spot and ran into the forest. I didn't get very far because a tall man with dark green hair and golden eyes caught me by the waist and he said to me.
"Going somewhere, sweetheart? Hey Drago! I found your woman!"
"No! Let me go!!" I shouted as he dragged me back to Drago.
Drago and the others looked at me and then he smirked at me.
"Good work, Taurus," Drago spoke with a smirk.
"Try not to lose her again, here you go."
The man called Taurus released me and gently pushed me into Drago's arms.
"Thank you," Drago told him before looking back at me.
"Now I've got you, my little runaway Princess."
"Get off me! let me go!" I shouted at Drago.
"*Chuckle* she's a feisty one, isn't she?" Midnight chuckled as he had his arm wrapped around a blonde-haired woman's shoulders.
"She's not gonna be feisty with me for much longer once I've dealt with her, come on, Kassandra."
Drago said to me before throwing me over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.
"Ah! hey! put me down!!" I shouted as I punched his back.
"See you guys later."
"Let me go! you stupid reptile!!"
I shouted as I continued to punch his back but he refused to let me go.
"Stop struggling, Princess or else I'm gonna drop you."
I frowned angrily when he carried me back into the cave and then he took me back to that treasure room only for him to put me down on the animal skin bed and chaining my ankle. I was shocked by this and then Drago told me.
"Until you learn not to run away from me Princess, I have no choice but to chain you to the bed."
"You cannot be serious."
"Deadly serious," Drago spoke with a serious look on his face.
"There are unmated dragons and dangerous creatures that lurk in the forest, you were lucky that Taurus was the one who caught you and not a werewolf."
Drago turned his back towards me and he told me.
"I've got some business I need to deal with, someone will come by with some food later. Until I get back, behave yourself."
"I am not a child and I am not an animal either!" I shouted as Drago walked out of the treasure room leaving me alone in the room.
I tugged on the chain that was nailed against the wall and it wasn't coming off. I gave up and then I laid down on the bed and I curled up into a ball. I didn't know what going to happen to me but, I've never felt so scared in my life as I laid there chained up like some kind of slave girl.
