Chapter20-21
Kassandra
After seeing my Aunt again, more memories came back to me. It felt nice to have them back again. At least that also explains why I couldn't remember much about my childhood aside from the ones that I spent with my mother. Although, a small part of me was wondering what happened to that evil sorceress Zara after she messed with my mind but, I didn't let that bother me since I was with my mate and my new home.
Right now, I was at the lake practicing my magic since my Aunt hasn't arrived yet but, considering the fact that Kydre is getting older he does need someone near him before he passes on. It's a sad thought I know but, that's the cycle of life.
I raised my hands and then I started to create a large water serpent. It was shaky at first but I managed to maintain it. I looked at Siren, the water dragon, and I asked her.
"Siren, are you sure you want me to attack you?"
"If you want to get stronger then yes, don't worry my dear, I'm a water dragon, it won't hurt much."
"All right and again, sorry about this."
I thrust my hands and then the serpent went straight for Siren. She took the hit and fell underwater. I was shocked by this and then I looked for her and called out to her.
"Siren?! Siren! are you still alive?"
Siren popped her head out of the water and she shook her head. Thankfully, she wasn't too badly hurt, looks like fighting a water dragon with water magic didn't even hurt her.
"Phew, thank goodness for that," I spoke in a relieved tone.
"See? I told you I'm all right."
"Well? how did I do?"
"On a scale of one to ten, I'd say you're about a seven."
"That powerful huh?"
"With a little bit more work? then yes, your water spell can become very powerful."
I smiled at this and then Drago came over to us.
"How's the training coming along?"
"Not bad actually, Siren here was helping me with my water magic."
Siren nodded her head and she told him.
"Her powers are still slightly weak but they're getting stronger and stronger."
"That's good to hear, now why don't you take a break from training?"
"No way, I've got 10 years of training to catch up on and I don't have time for breaks."
I looked at Siren and I told her.
"All right, now let's try some ice magic."
"Oh no, you don't!" Drago stopped me before picking me and throwing me over his shoulder.
"Ah! Drago! put me down!"
"No way, you're taking a very long break from training with me and I will not be taking no for an answer."
I laughed when he carried me over his shoulder and I didn't mind whatsoever. Drago chuckled and he said to me.
"You know, the last time I carried you over my shoulder, you kept complaining about me carrying you like this and now you don't care."
"That's because I'm your mate and I told you I'm not going to leave you."
"That's the best news I've heard all day."
Drago told me before dropping me onto the soft grass. He got on top of me and I giggled as he kisses my cheeks.
"I love you, Kassandra."
My heart skipped a beat when he said this. I smiled at him and I wrapped my arms around his neck.
"I love you too."
Drago smiled back before he leaned down and kissed my lips. Being with a Dragon Lord as the lover of my life is the best thing that has ever happened to me.
King Scott
It has been weeks since Kassandra was taken from us. We've been searching high and low for her and so far nothing. Leo hasn't been helping much and I haven't heard from him since he left to search for Alfred. What was taking him so long? did he and Alfred left to look for Kassandra on their own or did he...? no, Leo wouldn't betray me! he's the captain's guard and Kassandra's bodyguard, he wouldn't dare betray me.
I looked all over the maps and every time I send someone to go into the forbidden forest they're never seen again. I can't believe I'm saying this but, we're gonna need a Dragon to help us but, where are we going to find one?
I sighed heavily again with a goblet of wine in my hand and I gulped it down in one go. I looked at the maps again and I mumbled.
"What to do? what to do?"
"My, my, looks like someone is in distress," a familiar voice spoke up.
I jumped in fright and then I stood up from my seat.
"Who goes there?!"
"Hehe, it's been 10 years since the last time we spoke and this is the welcome I get? well, can't say I blame you, King Scott."
I looked in the shadows and then a woman wearing black robes appeared. I squinted my eyes and then I recognized her face.
"Zara?"
Zara smirked from under her hood before she took it off revealing her red hair, green eyes and pale skin.
"Long time no see, King Scott."
I looked at her up and down and I said to her.
"You haven't changed a bit since the last time we spoke."
"Well, we sorceresses and witches tend to live a lot longer than you humans so, that's why I still look so young," She spoke with a smile.
I frowned a little and I sat back down before speaking to her.
"What are you doing here? the last time I asked for your help was after..." I trailed off and then Zara spoke up.
"Yes, I'm aware that was the last time we spoke. I wouldn't have come here unless I have some news to share or it has something to do with your...step daughter?"
I frowned angrily and I shouted.
"Don't call her that! Kassandra is my daughter! my flesh and blood!"
"Except, there is a small chance she has dragon blood running through her veins."
I stopped talking when she said this and then I calmed down afterwards.
"Anyway, I can only guess why you're here. You know about my daughter don't you?"
"I do," Zara sat down across from me and she said to me. "The mark that I placed on her after I erased some of her memories has disappeared."
"What?" I asked in a surprised tone before she showed me the list of the people who were marked by Zara and Kassandra's name is gone.
"What happened? is she-"
"No, my marks don't disappear like that. It seems the mark was removed by someone."
"Who?"
"I would have said it was Katrina but, she has no power to remove it. My guess is, it might have been removed by someone who is powerful than a witch or a sorceress."
"What are you saying? are you suggesting a dragon has removed the mark?!"
"It's starting to look that way I'm afraid."
I frowned angrily and I told her.
"This is bad, if the mark is removed then that means..."
"Kassandra has regained her memories. That also means Katrina and the other dragons might have told her the truth by now."
I was shocked by this and then I told her.
"Then why the hell are you here?!"
"I thought you wanted to know where she has gone so you can find her and bring her back."
"You know where she is?"
"I do."
Zara spoke with a smirk before she looked at the maps. I watched her run her finger past the dragon priests' village and the forbidden forest before pointing her finger at one of the mountains.
"She's right here, she's at Drago's mountain."
"Drago? Do you mean that Black dragon who is the leader of the horde has my daughter?!"
"I'm afraid so."
"But how can we get there? Leo hasn't returned with Alfred and those who are camping at the village are getting lost in that place and they're never seen again."
"Don't worry, I can help you and your men with that."
"Oh yeah, what do you have in mind?"
"Follow me," Zara spoke with a smile before I followed after her.
We went into the dungeons and I was confused until I heard snarling and growling. I saw men dressed in weird-looking armour and they were strapped with various weapons.
"Who are these people?"
"Dragonslayers, they're a gift for you, King Scott."
"Oh yeah?"
"That's not all I brought."
I continued to follow Zara as she explained to me.
"10 years ago, you claimed that you killed Zonar but then, your wife followed afterwards. However, I have discovered something and you will be pleased or angry about this."
"What are you talking about?" I asked her before we got to one of the cells.
"Take a look," She spoke with a smirk.
I opened the door and when I did, I found a man with his head hanging low and he was chained. He was sitting on his knees and both of his wrists were chained. I noticed that he was shirtless so I was able to see the many scars that he had received.
"Who is this and what happened to him?"
"He's someone that you once knew. We found him three years ago on the boarders of Cassina. The dragon slayers and I were able to capture him. He put up a good fight but, he never backed down from our torture devices and very soon, he will be the one to take us to Kassandra and fight for us. He won't have much of a choice in the matter."
"What makes you say that?"
"Look at his face and you will see why."
As I walked closer to the man, he finally spoke up.
"It has been 10 years since we last spoke, hasn't it, Scott?" He spoke with venom in his tone.
My eyes widen when I recognized that voice.
"No...it can't be..."
The man slowly raised his head and I took a few steps back when I saw his face.
"Z-Zonar?!"
"Long time no see, King Scott."
