A few weeks later... Kassandra A while had passed since Leo became King. After we got back to Cassina, the villagers and the townsfolk were shocked when they saw us but, they were relieved when they saw me. However, when we told them what really happened the night my mother died and what Scott did to me, they were shocked and angry at him. As we brought Scott into Cassina's dungeons, they threw rotten fruits and vegetables at him and he deserved that. But, the best part was their reactions when they found out Leo is the real heir to the throne. Everyone saw him as Scott's commander but, in the end, they accepted Leo as their new King. After he had his crowning ceremony, Leo walked through the crowd with a proud smile on his face and then I approached him with Drago holding my hand. "How does it feel to be King of Cassina?" I asked him with a smile on my face. "Honestly? it feels weird but, exciting at the same time." "That's good to hear, but, it's not all fun and games, it comes with responsibilities." "I know and I can handle it," Leo spoke with a proud smile on his face. "Good, so, what are you going to do first now that you're a King?" "Well, I actually thought about bringing back the dragons to Cassina. I think it's about time we brought them back and show the other Kingdoms that the dragons are not as dangerous as everyone made them out to be. Crystal taught me that and so did you." "And speak of your mate, here she comes now." Drago spoke with a smile before Crystal came over to us. She looked beautiful with that light blue dress that I got for her. Leo smiled at her and then he lets her wrap her arms around his arm. "Looks like we don't need to ask who you're going to make your Queen." "Not right now, but, maybe someday I will make her my Queen but for now, Crystal and I are going to take it slow and we also talked about travelling around the world. Besides, she's not the only one who has a curious trait." I smiled at them and I watched Leo cup her cheek before pressing his lips against hers. "Oh, excuse us." I said as Drago and I walked away from the couple. We spotted my father talking with my Aunt and he looked happy for some reason. "Hello Father, how does it feel to be back in Cassina?" "Feels weird, to be honest, but, I did have some good memories here." Father looked like he was living a fond memory and I knew why. It was because he and my mother spent so much time together here. "So, what do you intend to do now? are you and the others going to stick around Cassina like last time?" "Well, a few of my warriors have found their mates here but as for me, I can't stay here. Cassina brings back too many memories and they all remind me of your mother and I need a fresh start. There is a mountain that's not too far from where you and Drago live. My horde and I will be living there from now on." "Well, that's good to hear, what about you, Aunt Katrina?" Aunt Katrina smiled at me and she said to me. "Well, I'm planning to stay here to teach young wizards and witches. It's about time someone taught them how to use their magic for good and not for evil purposes. After what I've seen with Zara, it goes to show that there are some witches and other magical beings who need proper guidance to control their powers." I liked the sound of that idea and then Father asked Drago. "That reminds me, Drago, did you ask Kassandra?" "Not yet, but, I'm going to once we get back to horde." I looked at him confused while my Aunt looked happy and excited. "Ask me what?" "You'll see when we get back home." "Okay..." I said in a suspicious tone. "Nuri, what's he up to?" I asked my dragon spirit and she said to me. "Our mate is hiding something but, I can't figure out what it is." I was surprised when she said this and then, later on, it was time to head back home. However, Drago wanted to take me somewhere first. We flew towards the top of the mountain and then we carefully land on the ground. We shifted back into our human forms and then I looked at the horizon. I smiled at the view and I remember the first time I came up here. "Last time I was up here, I was still under Zara's spell. Liz tried to get make me see the reason that the Dragonshfiters don't hurt their mates and escape was futile." "How can I forget? you were quite the escape artist. At the time, I didn't know that you inherited your mother's powers and your father's abilities as well. At least that explained how you were able to sneak out of the treasure room and into the forest without anyone knowing." I smiled back at Drago and I said to him. "Well, things have changed. I got my memories back, I have a wonderful mate and a place where I can be free." I said as the wind gently blew and it felt nice. Drago held my hand and he said to me. "Kassandra, there's a reason why I brought you up here. After everything we've been through and after hearing about your parents' past, I realized life can be short for some of us and we don't know when fate might turn against us." My heart started beating excitedly because I had a feeling he was going to ask me something. "I guess what I'm trying to say is, Kassandra..." Drago got down on one knee and I smiled at him with tears in the corner of my eyes. "Will you marry me and become the leader of the horde?" Tears of happiness spilled out of my eyes as Drago showed me the ring. "Yes!" Drago smiled at me and then he puts the ring on my finger before kissing me passionately and dipping me. We stood upright and then I asked him. "Shall we tell the others?" "I think they already know." I was confused for a moment until I heard the sound of dragons roaring in the distance. I looked up and I saw them flying above us and I heard them all say to me. "Congratulations! Lord Drago!" "Welcome to your new family, Lady Kassandra!!" I giggled at their comments while resting my head against Drago's shoulder. "I love you, Kassandra." "I love you too, Drago." I spoke with a smile on my face before we kissed. We pulled away and then I smirked at him. "Let's go and join the others in the sky." "Fancy a race?" Drago asked with a smirk. "Hmm..." I had a little think as I walked towards the edge. "No thanks." I fell backwards while Drago looked shocked as I fell. I shifted into my dragon form and then I flew into the skies. "Oy! you little cheater! come back here!" Drago shouted before he turned into his dragon form and chasing after me. I laughed as we raced each other while the other dragons watched us. We flew to a clearing in the forest and we both landed. We stayed in our dragon forms before Drago approached me. He sighed happily before he nuzzled his face against mine. I nuzzled him back before we spoke in the mind link. "I love you, Kassandra." "I love you too, Drago." We both laid down and then Drago rested his head on top of mine. "Let's stay like this for a while before we celebrate our engagement." "Sounds good to me," I told him through the mind link as we laid there together as soon-to-be Epilogue Kassandra A few months later, it was our wedding day. I was in our room and the girls were helping me to get ready. I couldn't wait to be his wife but, I was feeling a bit nervous since I was not only going to be his wife but I was also going to be his equal as the leader of the horde. I only wished my mother was here to see this day and give me a few comforting words. The women from the Dragon priests' village came to help and they were going to bless us too only this time they weren't offering me as the dragon bride's like last time. Annie was also here since she wanted to help me get ready and spend time with me since it had been a while since we last spoke before I was brought to Drago's home. I felt a few tugs on my hair until some of it was tied back. The dress that I'm wearing is white and the top rested on my upper arms to that my shoulders were exposed. The sleeves were see-through and they reached the back of my hands. The skirt was long and the back of it was being dragged across the floor and I'm wearing flat shoes since I didn't want to walk in high heels. 'Are you almost done?" I asked Annie. 'Almost, just one more thing needs to be added onto your hair. I watched Annie add a flower onto my hair and then she applies some makeup on me. Once she was done, she took a step back and she had tears in the corner of her eyes. 'Oh, Kassandra...you look beautiful." 'Do I?" I asked in a surprised tone before she helped me onto my feet and leading me to the mirror. I smiled when I saw my reflection. I couldn't believe the woman in the mirror was me. 'I look beautiful," I mumbled before Aunt Katrina and Father came into the room. Aunt Katrina smiled at me when she saw me and she said to me. 'Wow! Kassandra, look at you. Oh, Karen would have been so happy for you," Aunt Katrina spoke with tears in the corner of her eyes. 'Oh, Aunt Katrina, don't start you're gonna set me off." I told her as I hugged her. Father smiled at me and then he said to me. 'Everyone is waiting including Drago." 'How is he?" 'Excited and happy that he's marrying you. Karen would have been happy for you if she was here." 'She'll always be with us Father, right here." I told him as I pointed at his chest. Father nodded his head before Annie gave me the bouquet of roses. 'Shall we get going?" Father asked me and I nodded my head. I wrapped my arm around my Father's arm before he led me out of the treasure room. We decided to have our ceremony here on the mountain since we wanted our friends and the horde to witness our engagement. Drago looked at me and he smiled at me. Before Father passed me over to Drago, he kisses my forehead and he said to Drago. 'Take good care of her." Drago nodded his head and I wrapped my arm around his arm before our ceremony began. After we said our ‘I dos', Drago and I put the rings on our fingers and then he kisses me. The dragons roared in happiness when we became husband and wife. Afterwards, we got into the main hall and this is where all of the dragons come together to have their dinner and celebrations. Drago had me sitting on his lap as everyone drank to their heart's content and they happily as well. After eating and drinking so much, I rested my head on Drago's shoulder and then I heard Nuri growl quietly in response. 'I can't believe this happened to me." 'Are you happy?" 'I am, not only did I get married to the one I love, I have my whole family with me. Even though I said those hurtful things to you in the past, I'm glad you were the one who kidnapped me and brought me here. If you hadn't, I would have been married off to a prince and I would have been still under Zara's spell." 'I'm glad too. I love you, Kassandra." 'I love you too." We kissed each other and then Midnight shouted. 'Oy! get a room!!" The others chuckled when Midnight shouted this and then Drago smirked. 'Already got one." I looked at him surprised before he scooped me in his arms. The guys started cheering and whistling at us. 'Please excuse us while I go and spend some time with my wife." 'Do us a favour and keep it down!" Sparx shouted with a grin. 'I can't wait to see some Kassandra and Drago Jrs running around!" One of the dragons shouted as Drago carried me back to our room. Once we got there, Drago puts me down and he smirked at me. 'I've been waiting for a long time for this moment. Now let's get you out of that dress." I felt a little nervous as Drago started to undo the back of my dress. 'Um...Drago...just so you know...I've never done this before...and I know you saw me in the baths but..." 'Hey." I looked at Drago before he kisses me on the lips. 'Don't worry, you don't have to be afraid." I trust Drago and then I let him take off my wedding dress. He grabbed the edge of the dress and he gently pulls it down until I was bare to him. Drago growled with that lustful look in his eyes. 'Finally, I can claim you. Why don't we pick up where we left off in the baths except this time, we don't need to worry about anyone walking in on us." I smiled at Drago and then he picks me up in his arms and carries me over to the bed. He gently laid me down on the bed and then he got on top of me. 'You're mine, Kassandra." 'All yours," I whispered against his lips after he kisses me and then our passionate night began. One year later... After a year passed, everything has changed in a good way. Leo became King and he asked Crystal to be his Queen and now they're already expecting their first child after travelling around the world for a few months. My father stayed on the mountain with his horde until he finally found his mate. It took me by surprise when he told me that he found his mate until he explained to me that Dragonshifters can have a second chance mate and found one. My step-mother's name is Maria, she's also a Dragon shifter and I hope she makes my old man happy. As promised Aunt Katrina became a teacher and she was able to teach young sorceresses and witches to use their magic for good and not evil. Speaking of Evil, King Scott was supposed to spend his life in the dungeons until one day, Leo and the guards found him dead in the cell. Turns out, he killed himself and he also left a note that contains a confession about everything he had done to me and the Kingdom. As for Zara, she has done another disappearing act and hopefully, we will never see her again. Right now I was sitting at the lake with my large bump. That's right, I'm pregnant with Drago's child. I felt his arms wrap themselves around me from behind and he placed his hands on my bump. 'What are you doing out here? shouldn't you be resting?" Drago asked as he rested his head on my shoulder. 'I needed some fresh air besides, it's not gonna do any harm to the baby." Drago sighed and he gently rubbed his hand on my bump. 'You're right, sorry. I'm just a little protective of you since you told you were pregnant with my son." 'Or your daughter," I spoke with a smile. 'True..." I looked at Drago and I asked him. 'Drago, what would you like our child to be?" 'I don't mind having a son but, I would also like a daughter so I can spoil her rotten," Drago spoke with a smirk before kissing me. "Me too, if I give birth to a daughter, I'd spoil her too and teach her everything I know about magic and dragons. Oh!!" I jumped in fright when I felt that kick and then I started chuckling. Drago chuckled back and I said to him. "Did you feel that?" "I certainly did, I think you are carrying my daughter in there." "I think so too." A few months later, I gave birth to a beautiful girl and we named her Leila. She inherited my magical abilities and her father's dragon abilities. As she got older, she became the protector of the dragons and Drago and I were so proud of her. And this is where my story ends. I found the love of my life, I found out my birth family and I'm a mother now and this also concludes how I became ‘The Dragon's Bride.' The end...
