Chapter25
Zonar
I smirked at Scott after he left the dungeons and then Zen appeared from the shadows in his disguise. Zen chuckled quietly and then he said to me.
"Zara was his mistress? that's a shocker."
"Well, at least now you know what her motives are for helping him, however, I highly doubt she'll be working alongside him for every long once we get to the mountain."
"Why?"
"Because not only will she find out about Kassandra's true power, she'll meet a familiar face there."
"And who would that be?"
"I can't say it out loud, walls have ears as they say."
Zen leaned closer and I whispered in his ear about the person that Zara knows all too well. Zen's eyes widen when he heard the person's name and he leaned back and asked me.
"What? are you sure? how did you find out about this?"
"Yes, I am sure. Karen told me before Scott tried to kill me."
Zen couldn't believe his ears when I told him about this person.
"Zen, you cannot remain by my side for much longer, the dragonslayers are getting suspicious about you."
"What would have me do?"
"Get out of Cassina, find Kassandra and take her to the horde's sacred place. It's the only way for her to awaken the Dragon spirit that's sleeping inside of her."
Zen understood what I meant and he nodded his head.
"All right, I will not let you down. Take care of yourself, Zonar."
"You too, and be careful."
Zen nodded his head before he disappeared once again. His ability to camouflage himself has become very handy since I've been captured but, his usefulness has come to an end because Kassandra needs to get stronger before we show up or else we're back to square one.
Scott
I got into my office and I drank another bottle of wine. Memories of the past continued to haunt me and I couldn't shake them off. Just then, Zara came into the room and she smiled at me.
"What happened and what caused you to drink this time?"
"He knows..." I mumbled as I looked at Zara.
"Who?"
"Zonar, he knows that you and I were in love before Karen came into my life."
Zara frowned and she said to me.
"That little shapeshifting reptile is going to pay for that."
"Relax, he's not going to say anything, for now anyway. However, I'm more worried about how Kassandra is going to react if she finds out."
"She won't find out because once we find her, I will make sure to use my powers to mess with her mind again and she will forget about that mate of hers and she will be your daughter once again."
Zara told me as she massaged my shoulders. I started to relax but, I couldn't shake the feeling that wasn't going to happen and Kassandra won't listen to reason.
"I know what you're thinking but, you shouldn't underestimate my powers, my dear King. After all, I was the one who gave you everything. You wanted this Kingdom from your father and so, I killed him in his sleep. You wanted a Queen, well, you did have me for a while until you traded me for someone else."
I looked at Zara and I noticed that she was angry but, I smiled at her before holding both of her hands.
"Karen is gone now, as soon as this is over and once Kassandra forgets this whole ordeal and once Zonar is gone for good. I will make you my Queen once again."
"You swear you won't betray me again?"
"I swear."
I told her before I pulled her towards me and we kissed. Zara kissed me back and then I bent her over onto my desk before she pulled away from my lips.
"Just like old times, except this time, your daughter and Karen will never know about us."
I nodded my head in agreement before I pulled Zara towards me and then I kissed her lips. Zara kissed me back and then she sat on my lap and wraps her arms around my shoulder to deepen the kiss. I pulled away from her and I told her.
"Bedroom?"
"Bedroom," Zara replied before teleporting us back to my room where our passionate night began.
Kassandra
The next day, I was near the lake and my Aunt was training me again. We showed off our Magicka (that's our magic energy) and then I started using my fire spells on her. Aunt Katrina used her water shield and then it put out my flames. I knew she was going to pull that move and then I used my ice magic on her shield and then it crumbled to pieces. I clenched my fists and then I thrust my right hand causing a very strong wind to appear and then it destroyed my Aunt's shield.
Once the smoke appeared, I used this opportunity to create a clone and then I sneak behind my aunt while using my invisibility spell to hide my presence. While my Aunt was busy fighting my clone, I grabbed her wrist and I pinned her down onto the ground thanks to Leo's hand to hand combat training.
"Ow..." Aunt Katrina mumbled.
"Looks like I won."
I spoke with a smirk and then Aunt Katrina chuckled after I released her.
"So it would seem, you've certainly gotten stronger the last time we fought like this and I see you've used hand to hand combat, where'd you learn how to do that?" Aunt Katrina asked me as she sat up from the ground.
"Leo taught me. When I was still Cassina's princess and when I was still under Zara's spell, Scott forbade me from using my spells but, I trained in secret at night and when Leo had the time, he would give me private lessons. I couldn't use a sword since they're always heavy but, Leo decided to teach me hand to hand combat and he also taught a few takedown moves."
"Impressive, I better remind myself to thank him the next time I see him."
"Good luck with that, he's been a little busy with Crystal."
"Oh?" Aunt Katrina asked in a teasing tone.
"I wasn't referring to that! I meant he was busy getting to know her and it looks like things are going so well with them."
"That's good to hear, however..." Aunt Katrina looked trouble for some reason before she continued.
"Whenever I look at Leo, there's something very off with him."
"What do you mean? he's not trouble, I can promise you that much."
"No, it's not like that, it's just that. I can sense this aura from him. I mean yes he's loyal to you but, his aura seems very familiar. It's almost as if I've sensed it somewhere before."
"When you say his aura is familiar, you mean he could be related to someone you knew in the past?"
"Possibly, I'm not sure who or where I've sensed it though. But, if something clicks in my mind I'll let you know. Anyway, shall we continue?"
I nodded my head and then I took a few steps back before getting into a fighting stance.
However, before we got started again, Liz called out to me.
"Kassandra!!"
Aunt Katrina and I looked at her and she ran over to us in a panic. She came to a halt in front of us and she panted in exhaustion.
"You gotta...you gotta come quick! it's bad! very bad!!"
"Whoa! slow down, where's the fire?" I asked her.
"Lord Drago is fighting another dragon."
"So what's the problem? he's probably training for the raid."
"That's not it!! this dragon wants to talk to you but then, Lord Drago refused him and he tried to send him away, however, the dragon wasn't going to leave until he spoke to you and now they're-"
"Fighting as we speak?!" I shouted at her and she nodded her head.
"Come on!" I shouted at Aunt Katrina and then we made a run for it.
We got to the area where Drago was fighting against a green dragon. I watched Drago growl and he tried to bite his neck but, the green dragon flew away from him in time. I squinted my eyes as I looked at the green dragon.
"Aunt Katrina, doesn't that dragon look a bit familiar to you?"
"You know, now that I take a closer look at him, he does look familiar."
Suddenly, Drago sent the green dragon flying onto the ground and he crash-landed. Aunt Katrina and I used our arms to shield our faces from the dust and the strong winds. I moved my arms out of the way and then the green dragon turned back into his human form. The man sat up and then Drago lands back onto the ground and he turned back into his human form.
"Pathetic, I admit you're a good fighter but, not good enough to take down a dragon lord."
The man glared at Drago and then I recognised his face immediately.
"Now for the last time! get off my mountain!"
"Not until I've seen-"
"Zen!?" I shouted at him.
Zen looked at me and he smiled brightly when he saw me.
"Kass?! is that you?!" He spoke with a grin on his face after standing up.
"Zen!"
I shouted happily before I ran over to him and throwing my arms around his neck and then he caught me before he spun me around while we both laughed happily while Drago and the others stood there with shocked and confused expressions on their faces.
"Uh...what just happened...?" Drago asked us.
