Chapter 18
DARIEL'S POV:-
'So you got remarried and didn't bother to invite your Uncle, Dariel?" The man I resent the most complained on the phone. My father's brother, Uncle Harry.
'Hmm. So? What difference was your presence going to make?" I responded in a cold tone, having no concerns towards him.
'Is that how you speak to your Uncle, Dariel?" He growled. Ignoring him, I entered my cabin where the man I called unwilling was present.
'Yes, I do and if you have any problem then don't call."
With a scoff, not in the mood to hear further of his whining, I cut the call before inclined on my throne as I stared dead at the blond man.
Emitting my supreme aura to assert my dominance in the room, I placed my phone away and rested my one leg over the other.
'There he is, Sir."
My most trusted man, my assistant Ian informed. Humming, I contemplated the guy with a sour expression.
'Good Afternoon, Sir."
'Listen here, Peter. Starting tomorrow, you are going to teach my wife how to paint."
I ordered seriously, resting my elbows on the armrest as my sleeves were rolled to the elbow perfectly.
My coat rested on my powerful seat while I was only in my black waistcoat, not trusting the man in the slightest.
'Yes, Sir. Don't worry, I shall teach her the best of styles." He smiled, almost proud to which I scoffed.
I had no interest in what he would teach her, ‘how' he would do them was testing me.
'Sir, I-"
The stupid man was about to continue but I put my hand in the air to stop him and pointed my index finger at him sternly.
'And let me tell you already, she is an innocent and exquisite one and I know how people like you are too." I spoke in a threatening tone.
I rose from my seat slowly with my hands in my pockets, walking up to him, scaring him by my power.
'W-What do you mean, Sir?" He gulped.
Smirking darkly, I brought my one hand and set his collar, hitching his breaths in dread when I continued in a dangerous whisper.
'That she is so unimpeachable and she won't know if you made an attempt on her. So touching is a distant matter. ‘If' I saw you even two steps close to her, you better be prepared for the consequences."
'T-Then how can I teach her if I c-cannot come near?"
Afraid, he moved back yet the fees I was willing to pay him, he would take it, no matter how much I scare him.
'I don't care. I am only warning you already so you think twice, okay?" I warned him seriously, not trusting his intentions at all.
'I u-understand."
'Hmm. Leave."
I didn't want to call a male art teacher in the first place. But, Saafia whined so much about being bored at home that I had to hire whoever I got first.
Sighing, I pinched the bridge on my nose and took my seat again. My assistant, Ian, smirked at me with a slight chuckle but my glare shut his mouth instantly.
'Sir, Here is the list, it needs your signature-"
He was about to hand me the file but Saafia called.
'Wait. Your Madam is calling." I spoke, clearing my throat and picking her call, using a much harsh tone- which had become nonchalant for her at this point.
'Hmm? What do you want now?" I smirked, leaning against my seat when she gasped.
Honestly, in this month of our marriage, pissing her off had entertained me more than anything. It was a good time.
'Now? What I said before?" She argued.
'Are you going to tell me or not?" I sighed, faking frustration.
'I want to go and see my Father. Driver is not letting me leave saying that I need your permission. What is your problem? Do you want to cage me?" She hissed.
I ordered him to not take her to the hospital alone and seemingly she had misunderstood but like I would correct her.
'I am coming home. I will take you myself." I ordered.
'That is not the answer-"
Before she could continue, I cut the call with a smirk over my lips. Imagining how infuriated she must be. Shaking my head to not think about it, I took the file and signed it after checking it.
'Ian." I called, becoming serious slowly while handing him the file back.
'Yes, Sir?"
'Is everything ready?" I asked, a deadly aura taking over me, reflecting the intentions I kept at bay all this time for the fake image to get the deal.
'Yes. Our deal is secured. You can continue teaching Jared a lesson now." Ian smirked back to which I chuckled malevolently.
'Good."
‘Soon you will see what I would do to you two'
After wrapping up my work, I returned home where Saafia was waiting for me. Pacing around the room, holding her sides.
Guess, I won't hear a ‘welcome home' today.
'Here you go." I cleared my throat, leaning against the doorframe on my shoulder, raising my brows at her.
'What the hell was that? I don't need ‘your' permission to leave. I already left my job on your order. I won't give my freedom to you." She hissed, pointing her finger at me.
I sighed, 'Giving me a call or a message won't kill you to let me know where you are, woman."
‘So that way I won't be worried about you.' was silent.
But, like hell I would say. That would melt her and that was the last thing I wanted from her. I had seen, my two soft words made her flutter.
And I had no intention of softening her. She needed to be cold.
'Still. You don't tell me anything." She scoffed.
'Anything?" I smirked, almost amused. Straightening my back, I came closer, stopping before her. Wallowing in her innocent puff.
Always trying to look strong and competitive while knowing it would only take me a snap to scare her.
'I told you the biggest secret that it was all an act. No one knows it and if you recall, I let you know too that I would be late so you don't wait for me." I spoke, recalling her. If I went to a party too, I informed her beforehand so this argument was invalid.
'I-"
Narrowing her eyes, she opened her mouth to retort but nothing came out, realizing I was right.
'Okay. I agree. I am sorry."
'Let's go then."
