Epilogue
3.5 Years Later.
SAAFIA'S POV:-
Today was Jacey's engagement with Jared. Both of them got an instant connection already but they were so scared of commitments that it took them three years to decide to be together.
And on that day, I was running after my three-year-old daughter who was running and I was worried if she wouldn't fall.
'Lillia, come here, stop running!"
Not caring, she ran and jumped into her father's arms, 'Papa!"
'Be careful, princess, you will fall," Dariel laughed a little, picking Lillia who was hugging him with a wide grin.
An important work came so he had to leave for a few hours but in that time we all fell asleep.
Because my sweet Lillia's six months old younger brother had sworn to not let his mother rest.
'Welcome home," I sighed, shaking my head as I gave Dariel a side hug.
'Thank you," He smiled, kissing the top of my head while putting down Lillia, giving her his office bag so she could take it to our room.
'Oh thank God, you are here, Dariel," I sighed when we entered our room where our son was sleeping.
I had no idea why but both of my children looked like their father.
'What happened? You are not ready yet? The event is in two hours." Dariel asked, checking the time.
'Then tell your daughter to settle down. I have to get Chris ready too." I sighed.
'It's alright, my love. Don't panic. I will get the kids ready. You relax." He smiled, pinching my cheek, easing my stress a little.
'You will?"
'Of course. I am a perfectionist, I do everything immaculately."
I giggled. I honestly believed that after becoming a father his arrogance would lessen but no. That man and his superiority complex was unmatched.
'Yes, yes, Mr. Cannedy. Good luck." I giggled, pinching his cheek as I went to the closet to take out my dress.
'Ah, my baby,"
Dariel grinned, plopping beside Chris to kiss his forehead while holding his tiny hand with an arresting glow on his face.
'He is sleeping. Freshen up and then dress her up first and then Chris and don't forget to change his diaper." I reminded, going to the bathroom to get ready as I no longer had the time to go to a salon.
'Yeah, yeah,"
It took a while for all our family to get ready as we all wore royal blue matching outfits for the engagement.
Dariel looked exquisite in his three piece suit jacket, that color suited him, well everything looked eye-catching on him if you ask me.
Dariel was done with kids and now helping me to straighten my hair.
'Helder is calling." I informed him, setting my a-line simple dress.
Our terms with him had gotten better, he returned and cried so badly to the point it made Jacey and Dariel cry too and they got reunited.
He is family now.
'Put it on speaker," He sighed, totally focused on my hair.
'Yeah?"
'Where are you guys? Guests have started to come. There is so much to do, I can't handle everything alone, Dariel," Helder scolded being the responsible elder brother he had proven himself to be.
Dariel disappeared for his work, leaving all the work in his hands and he had been engrossed for the past few hours.
'Me and the kids are all ready, Saafia is taking too much time."
'Liar! I am not! You are one who still hasn't learned how to change a damn diaper." I argued.
'Chris cried for half an hour until we found out that the mister put on the diaper wrong," and ended with a hiss.
He said he would take care but instead increased my work.
'So? Heck, why would ‘I' change diapers?" He defended himself.
To which I merely glared at him through the reflection.
'We will be there soon, Helder." I enunciated and cut the call.
'What were you saying?"
'Just kidding. By the way, you are looking tempting." He grinned, kissing my cheeks after putting the straightener away and how I could be angry at my beloved.
Grinning, we finally got ready and left.
The second we entered, Helder came, who was dressed in a gray waistcoat and white shirt, causing the girls to drool at him.
That was why I placed Chris on Dariel's arm to let them know he is ‘booked'
'Finally you are- Oh my God, I didn't know a princess was coming." his annoyance disappeared the second his eyes fell on Lillia.
'Uncle!" She beamed, hugging him.
He adored her too much and she did the same. Both of them were a team.
'Good evening, Her Majesty, how are you?" He grinned, picking her up as all his worries disappeared.
'Good." She grinned back, refusing to leave him anymore.
'You are looking tempting, my love," Dariel whispered, winking at me.
'Stop it,"
I blushed, shaking my head in denial before this man's urges got loose, I cleared my throat, 'Where is Jacey?"
'In the dressing room. Come with me."
We entered and saw Jacey dressed, the distress on her face made my chest clenched as her last event was not so good after all.
'Finally you are here, I thought you would come after the event." She sighed, coming to us, scanning when our family was matching outfits.
'Sorry about that and congratulations." I apologized, hugging her firmly to reassure her that nothing could go wrong at this moment.
'My, you guys are looking so cute." She admired checking us out.
'Thanks."
'Congratulations, Jacey." Dariel smiled sweetly.
'You guys are happy, right? Am I making the right choice?"
Jacey's felicity vanished for a moment, her disquiet thoughts not allowing her to be at ease. She was happy but scared.
'I will fix him into a right choice-" Dariel was about to declare but Helder frowned, giving his shoulder a scolding pat.
'Hey,"
'What?"
Helder smiled aesthetically, placing his hand on Jacey's shoulder as he gave her a side hug with a blessing.
'May you guys find all the happiness and he become your best decision of life,"
Jacey teared up and hugged Helder tightly, breaking into a soft sob. Everything that happened probably flashed before her eyes.
And Helder's treatment of the best brother in the past three years had melted her heart.
'Thank you for being here, Helder," She cried a little, not letting him go.
The sound of her cries made us all teared up. The moments of glee were little but the invitation of future laughter brought tears to our eyes.
Nothing could go wrong anymore.
'Bless you,"
We all said at the same time, wiping our tears, doing a family hug, creating an unforgettable memory.
Soon the ceremony went great, Jared had become a gentleman for Jacey. He changed for her sake, to be a better future for her sake.
He truly loved her a lot.
Good thing he left Veronica, though after being abandoned by everyone due to her deeds, she left the country and went far away.
Everyone was enjoying, dancing, a truly lively event as I was with my husband.
'Ah, this makes me want to marry you again. Ours was so simple." Dariel whined, not leaving my hand and kissing my knuckles.
'Don't overwrite that beautiful memory, ah, how it all started at Jared's wedding and now ending at his engagement," I beamed, getting lost on the day we met, becoming emotional at the ups and downs of our lives but finally we became one.
Like how we were meant to be.
'It was always his damn fault." Dariel mumbled, glancing at Jared and back at me with a seductive smirk again.
'By the way, did I tell you you look tempting?" He whispered, leaning to bite my earlobe but I poked his cheek to keep him away with a blank response.
'Yes. Five times."
'Ah, I can't tell you how much I love you. Good thing Helder is single, he is a professional. I can have you all for myself now," He exclaimed, abruptly wrapping his hands around me to embrace me firmly.
I was taken aback for a second but soon relaxed, allowing my body to be captured in him entirely because it felt homely. I loved remaining where I belonged.
Where we were meant to be.
'I am all yours, my love." I whispered, resting against his completely so he could stare intensely at me like always.
We had completed four and a half years together yet those stares held a magical effect on me. It evoked a spark I could never resist, every, single, time.
'Saafia," He called, turning me to him so those hands could grip the side of my neck, making me turn oblivious of the musical and lousy world and focus on him.
'Hmm?" My eyes started to gleam when we connected gazes keenly.
'I love you," He whispered sincerely, lovingly, passionately and I responded in the same tone, 'I love you too,"
Closing our eyes, we captured our lips to never part again, creating out little moment in the beautiful event, pouring our feelings which expressed that-
‘I knew I was right to trust my destiny, it brought me to you after all, my love.'
THE END.
