LIBRARY TIME

VALERIE I make sure that I don't go back to the Pack House. I don't want to hear whatever that rhino wants to 'talk' about. Well I actually do, but I will not give him that satisfaction....not so soon at least! Therefore, I spend the day roaming the city. Few things here and there have changed, like there are a few new buildings, boutiques, a new club, food court etc. Many shops have been renovated but other than that it's the same, the entire town is owned by the Franklins. Shawn Franklin as of now. All I can see are buildings with the Franklins' logo. After dropping Patrick at school, I spend the whole morning shopping for furniture with Evie and Oscar. I ordered for everything in that room that wasn't mine to be burned so I need new furniture, bed, cushions and I purposely asked Donald to get the photo of me and Evie from my Pack House and bring it here. After lunch, I ask Oscar and Evie to go back while I go to my favorite place, the library. I spend the entire afternoon in the library and while reading one of the novels, I fall asleep in the library. The lady over there wakes me up at around six-thirty in the evening and she's lecturing me about the library rules. I ignore her and take out my mobile from my pocket. My eyes widen when I check my mobile and notice that I have seventy missed calls and thirty messages. Thank goodness, my mobile is on a silent mode. I yawn loudly because looking at them will be a waste of time. I get up from the chair and stretch my arms. A guy who is sitting at a nearby table is looking at me and I notice his gaze is on my stomach that is exposed when I stretch. "The show is over mister, now keep your eyes on your book!" I say, scowling at him and walk away from there while the lady over there is now lecturing me about manners. 'Hey, Evie.' I say through the link but there's no reply. 'Oscar?' I call out in my mind. 'Where the hell are you?' he yells in my mind. Oops, bad timing. I block my mind so that I can take all that yelling at home. I'm walking out of the library when I bump against someone near the door, but luckily this time there are no tingles in my skin. "Sorry." I say and look at the girl in front of me. She's a beautiful blonde and a wolf too, but I don't recognise her because she wasn't there when I left the Silverstone Moon Pack. "No, I'm sorry. I should have been watching my steps." She tells me. Her books have fallen down and I bend to pick them up along with her. I can't help but smile when I notice one of my books amongst the books that are down. My second book titled, Sold. "Dorah Caren. You like her books?" I ask the girl in front of me while she stares at me. "Oh! Right, I forgot. Hi, I'm Valerie." I say and extend my hand for her. "Cherry. I know who you are." She says, still staring and I panick. Does she know that I'm the author Dorah Caren? "You are the Alpha's mate. Our Luna" She says shaking my hand and I relax but not for long. Luna? 'I'm going to kill Shawn!' I think while my wolf completely dislikes that thought. "I'm not your Luna yet." I remind her and immediately decide to change the subject. "So Cherry, you like Dorah Caren's novels?" I ask her. "Yeah, she's good." She tells me smiling. I feel extremely happy hearing that. I like it whenever people appreciate my work. I feel proud of myself. It feels like I've achieved something in this life. "You read all her books?" I ask her smiling just to hear more praises about myself. "Yeah. So far, I've read and liked all her books." She tells me and I'm flying in the air. "I know she's good." I tell her while grinning. Self-praise... everybody does that. "Are you new to this Pack?" I finally ask her. "Yeah, I joined recently." She tells me carefully. It looks like she's scared to say anything wrong to me. "You are not going to the bonfire tonight?" she asks me softly. "What bonfire?" I ask, confused. "The one, to welcome the new Pack... I mean your Pack." she tells me. May be that's the reason I have so many missed calls. "Uh... I'll go there." I say to her and walk past her. "It was nice meeting you Cherry." I call out while the lady in the library starts preaching again. I don't know who this new lady in the library is because the one who was here six years ago was more polite than this one. I reach the Pack house in my Arrogant; I notice a few people from the Silverstone Moon Pack outside, something that turns my good mood to a bad one. The way they are ogling at me, it looks like I'm going to be the latest exhibited model for quite a few days. I overlook those lewd gazes and walk inside the house. One step inside, I'm surrounded by my Pack followed by a million questions like- "Where the hell were you?" "Do you know how worried we were?" "Why didn't you take the call?" "Do you know how many times I called you?" "Did you even check your phone?" "Did any one of these ugly losers hurt you?" The last one obviously from Oscar. "Tell me because I'm going to kill them if they did." He says again. "Oh..... Looks like I'm in trouble." I say looking at the five people in front of me. "Damn right you are." They all say together glaring at me. "Then I better run." I say quickly and turn my back towards them and run sideways, jumping and landing on the balcony to Evie's room. As I get into the room, they're all there still glaring at me, which assume I'm in deep, deep trouble. "It's not a joke Valerie. You could have at least told us where you were?" Oscar begins. "We don't know this strange city at all and you just.... disappeared." Edith says. "Sorry guys, I fell asleep in the library." I tell them guiltily and they all sigh at that. "Whatever, just inform us next time, okay?" Nathan says and I nod at him. "Did you get any books in the library?" Edith asks me after Nathan and Oscar leaves "No, but I did meet a girl who liked Dorah Caren's book." I tell her while grinning. "Was she hot?" that comes from Ivan. "Oh, shut up!" I tell him and he walks out of the room, pouting his lips. I look at Evie who's sitting silently on the couch and I know instantly something is wrong. This isn't like her; she is the one to go more crazy if I'm lost or somewhere else. 'Talk to her.' Edith says and leaves the room. I sit next to Evie on the couch. "What happened?" I ask her softly. "We kissed." She blurts out and my eyes widen. I know 'we' means Jasper and her. "Butterflies?" I ask her smiling and giggle when she blushes. "Sparks." She replies. I smile but frown later. "Eww... not something a sister would like to know about her brother.!" She smiles at that but later the smile disappears "I feel like I'm betraying you." She blurts out and my mouth drops open.
