THE CONDITION

VALERIE What did I get myself into? How could I make a deal with that devil? Hello?? This is Shawn we are talking about. He is your mate and he is hot, sexy... Oh shut up! Perverted mind. Have you forgotten he is arrogant and rude and mean and cocky..... But you cannot deny what I said.... Imagine living with Shawn it is going to be amazing. That is what I am imagining; living with Shawn will be a total disaster. Screw disaster; think about having him close to you all day and especially all night.... This is how the rational and irrational side of my mind is thinking. Ever since I stepped out of his office I have been worrying about it. Part of me wants to go and tell him that the deal is cancelled. The decision was made when I wasn't thinking straight. It was a moment of madness on my part! Another part of me is all excited to live with him. To have him close by with complete privacy guaranteed. And that is the irrational part. "What's up?" Evie asks me holding a packet of biscuits. "The sky." I say groaning. "What's down?" she asks giggling and I stare at her. "I made a deal with Shawn." I tell her and take three pieces of biscuits. "What deal?" she asks me. "If he lets Cherry join the Pack then I am going to move in with him." I say. "Yeah right!" she says laughing. I look at her and frown. She stops dead on her tracks. "You agreed to it!?" she asks in horror. "In case you didn't hear me clearly, I made the deal, though it was proposed by him!" "What? Why?" she asks me scowling. "It's a long story." I tell her munching. "I have time." Then I go on to tell her everything that happened in Shawn's office. "That man is a Royal Bastard!" she mutters at the end and I scowl at her. "He emotionally blackmailed you!" "He didn't do it on purpose." I tell her and frown when I see Ivan coming towards us with hope in his eyes. 'It's between you and me.' I tell Evie and she frowns. "What happened?" Ivan asks me. "He agreed." I answer and I'm immediately engulfed in a bear hug by him. "Thank you." he keeps on repeating. "Anything for you." I tell him and he nods, pulling away. 'You have to accept her.' he tells me nodding at Cherry who has a wide smile on her face. "Go to Shawn." I tell her and she has a panicked look on her face. "Ivan, go with her." I suggest and makes my way into the Pack house with Evie beside me. "How are you planning to break the bomb?" Evie asks me closing the door to my room. I flop down on my stomach in the bed, "Don't remind me." "When are you going to move in?" She presses, sitting on my bed. "Today." "What?" she shrieks. "I'm going to kill him!" she mutters and my wolf growls at her. "Please pack my bags." I tell her. "You are not going anywhere!" she snaps at me. "Evie, I told you it was all me. If I wanted to I could have found a way to escape but I was so caught in the moment that I agreed without thinking of the consequences." I say turning on my back. "Besides, now that I have forgiven him, I really, genuinely want to be with him. It's not just my wolf. It is me too. Yes, my wolf likes him a lot, but I kind of am attracted to him too..." I whisper the last part, and cover my face with my hands. When Evie doesn't say anything, I continue, "I had a teeny-weeny crush on him when I was a kid." I share my deepest secret with Evie. "You did?" "Not as much as I had on Hugh Jackman!" I'm quick to point out. "It lasted only for five minutes because he was such a jerk!" I say coolly and then groan. "But yes, I am attracted to him and since I have decided to forget and forgive everything he did to me, I do want this. It will be a fresh start for both of us. He was right about one thing, because I do feel that he cares more about me then I do about him. My wolf too agrees with it and I... he is my mate and I want to get to know him better. I never did. Like I had said the other day, we were never close, even though he was a long time family friend. That's why I didn't choose the escape route." She flops on her back beside me, "I know you always find a way to escape. However he is your mate and it is only natural your attraction towards him but it looks like he is the one in control here." "What do you mean?" I ask frowning. "You know, Edith taught me some cool tricks to 'seduce' your mate!" she points out using air quotes on the word seduce. "You mean to say I should dress like a slut for him?" I bite out scowling. "No stupid. There are different ways to seduce and I am talking about those which doesn't involve skimpy dresses!" she says tapping my arms. "Oh!" "Listen to me carefully...." She says and then I hear all the tricks, gasping at some and laughing at some. "Shampoo..." "Packed." "Conditioner...." "Packed." "Hair dryer...." "Packed. Brush, make-up kit, and laptop everything is packed. The only thing left is to inform the Pack." Evie says spreading her arms in the air with annoyance. "I'll do it." I say and open my room door. I can hear noises from downstairs and I immediately close the door, "I can't do it!" I say and thump my head against the door. "You have to." Evie mutters. "Some friend you are!" I say scowling and I see her grinning. "I hate him!" I mutter and hold the door knob. "Come on Valerie, you are strong, you are brave." I whisper and take a deep breath before opening my room door. Carrying my bag, I go down and like expected I catch everyone's attention. And you can lie... I think and fake a huge smile at my Pack who are all staring at me. "Where are you going?" Oscar asks me. "Guys, I know this is sudden but I have decided to move in with Shawn." I mutter and everyone's eyes widen while I hold my breath. "Damn right, it is all of a sudden!" Oscar shouts. "Why?" Nathan asks me. "I- I thought... I" I say while Oscar holds my luggage and begins dragging it. "Oscar!" I scream. "You are not going anywhere!" he says and begins dragging while I try prying it from his hands. "Done packing?" I hear Shawn asking me near the doorway with a smug look on his face while I glare at him. Oscar throws the bag and heads towards Shawn, "Fucking son of a bitch! I know you are behind this! Tell me what you said to her!" he spits. Shawn looks at me and I shake my head and place my index finger on my lips to tell him to keep his mouth shut. "Bark, you pathetic mutt!" Oscar says while shawn growls at him and raises his hands in a fist. "Shawn!" I scream and rush to his side, immediately pushing him away from Oscar. 'Oscar!' I command using my Alpha tone. 'Step back!' I say and he nods. "Give me some time, until then stand outside!" I say to Shawn through gritted teeth and he leaves the room after shooting one nasty look at Oscar. I close the door to the Pack House and turn to look at my Pack. 'Mind link!' I command everyone because I don't want Shawn hearing the conversation. 'Why?' Oscar asks in a whisper. 'He is my mate!' I say and he nods and goes upstairs. I blink repeatedly so that I will not let the tears come out. I know Oscar is sad that he hasn't found his mate but I have no other option but to tell the truth. The truth is that I want to be with Shawn. My wolf seeks for him always and it feels like a part of me is missing whenever he isn't around. 'He asked me to move in and I agreed.' I say completely dropping out the Cherry part. Everyone nods at me and makes no protest. 'Hey, I am still your Alpha. I am not leaving the Pack!' I say smiling and everyone chuckles but the smile doesn't reach their eyes. 'You will one day!' Oscar says in my mind. 'I will not until you find your mate and become the Alpha.' I say to him but there's no response from him. 'Oscar?' 'I am not coming to that pig sty, so if you want to meet me come to the Pack House!' he mutters and I chuckle. 'Love you..' I say to him and he replies with a 'love you back'. 'I'm going to hunt because I cannot kill your mate!' he says and blocks his mind. 'Remember what I said.' Evie says and I blushes. "We'll miss you." Edith says while crying and I frown at her. "Oh! Come on guys. It's just a five minutes run from here." I say to them. "Hey, I am hormonal okay?" She says sniffing. "I'm not a werewolf and I cannot run that speed!" Patrick says while pouting. Bending a little, I kiss him on the cheek. "I am going to come here daily to train you" I say grinning. He smiles and kisses my cheeks. "I am going to come here daily so don't act like I am never going to come back." I say to everyone in my Pack and open the doors and hear everyone chuckling. I drag my bags and see Shawn waiting for me with his back leaning against his white Lamborghini. He has that same smug look on his face while Jasper, who is standing beside him, is frowning. "Bye Valerie." everyone from my Pack screams happily. "Shawn if you don't let her visit here, I'll kill you!" Nathan says glaring at Shawn who growls in return. Everyone uses all the threats under the sun at Shawn while he simply growls or rolls his eyes. 'Go in!' I say to everyone in my Pack and everyone goes in except for Evie who is glaring at Jasper. "Set any ideas in your head and I'll feed your eyes to peacocks!" she says to him. 'Go in!' I tell her and she nods and goes inside. I glare at my brother and mate before putting my aviators. I drag my luggage and see Shawn opening his passenger door. Faking a smile, I walk past him and throw my bag on the back seat of my Arrogant before getting inside. I look at the rear view mirror and see him shaking his head and smirking at me. I growl and start driving. I park the car in his driveway and see him getting out from his car. Cherry and Ivan are standing near the door. Shawn is lifting my bag from the back seat when Ivan asks, "whose luggage is that?" "Mine." I say and see him looking at me with confusion. "I am moving in here." It doesn't take him much time to put two and two together. "That is why he let Cherry leave?" he asks growling at Shawn who is now smirking. "You don't have to do this." Ivan says shaking his head. "Let's go back." he says holding my hands. In a flash, Shawn is beside me, holding my arm and placing me behind him so that he's standing between me and Ivan. "Mine!" he says through gritted teeth to Ivan. "She will not be staying here with you, I am-" it's all Ivan gets to say before Shawn punches him. Cherry screams and goes to stand next to her mate. "What is wrong with you?" I snap at Shawn and I go to check on Ivan. I only take two steps before Shawn holds my wrist and pulls me back. "You are mine" he roars growling at me. He's shaking with anger and his eyes are complete black. I growl back at him and immediately pull my hands from his hold. "Ivan, go to the house. I'll meet you there." I say to him and he nods while glaring at Shawn who is glaring back. 'Not a word about this to anyone!' I say through the link using my Alpha tone. "You hit anyone in my Pack again and I am going back to the Pack House!" I say to Shawn through gritted teeth. He growls but don't say anything back. "Accept her request!" I snap nodding at Cherry before picking my bag and walking inside.
