BACK TO SILVERSTONE
SHAWN
Jasper was driving the car while I was trying to connect with Abed through the Pack link but he had his mind link blocked.
Bastard had it blocked when I need him.
I tried connecting with others and finally found the link with Dan.
'Where are you?" I asked him.
'In the house. Everyone has been advised to stay inside the house Alpha, there is a terrible storm outside!' he said his voice scared.
I growled thunderously and blocked my mind.
Mark had it all planned. He had created a storm so that no wolf from the Pack would be able to come help us or Valerie.
I was getting frustrated each and every passing second.
I just wanted her.
My Valerie.
"Drive faster!" I growled at Jasper.
One hour later, Oscar asked Jasper to stop the car and I immediately got out. There were two to three cars parked in the corner.
I looked in front of me and saw a building of which the construction had stopped a year ago.
The place was empty and in outskirts of Waterfall territory.
I had to give it to Mark, he had chosen a perfect place to hide!
The silence here was deafening and I smelt something fishy. This couldn't be possible!
"Stay alert!" I told Oscar and Nelson who were beside me.
We started climbing the stairs and I saw Nathan, Caleb and few fighters making their way towards the backyard of the dark and empty building while Jasper and Evie stood outside.
Despite Jasper's pleading, Evie had refused to stay in the house. She wanted to come to help Valerie and I respect her for that.
I know the bond these friends share is stronger than anything in this world.
We slowly started climbing the stairs that was completely empty. Like hell I would fall for this stillness.
I was walking through the stairs and heard someone groaning.
I knew that someone was faking it, but whoever he was would tell us where Valerie was so I turned to look at Nelson and Oscar who too knew that it was sham.
"I think I heard someone." Myron said slowly and I saw the amusement in his eyes. "I'll go check it out." he said and walked there with Oscar.
Smirking, I continued upstairs.
When I was upstairs I hear sounds of throat slitting and I knew Nelson killed the rogue.
"Scrawny!" Oscar spat walking with me.
I went upstairs and pushed a door open.
It was like a hall. The windows were covered with thick black curtains as if not wanting the light to reach inside.
There was a dining table, a stereo in this room.
As soon as we went inside we heard sounds of knuckles cracking from behind.
Smirking, I turned to face around twenty rogues behind us. Unlike last time they weren't pups. These were well built and knew how to fight.
I clenched my fists and so did Oscar.
"Nathan and others are rescuing the prisoners downstairs." Oscar said calmly staring at the rogues who surrounded us.
I didn't reply instead just made eye contact with all the filthy pets of Mark.
"I was promised a pouch full of diamonds if I finish you." one of the rogues said and smirked.
"That's cheap!" I said to him and his smirk vanished.
"How much for me?" Oscar asked them with humor in his tone.
"Sidekicks aren't prized." a mutt replied grinning at Oscar while he growled.
"But the Alpha's are right?" Nelson said and all the rogues turned to look at Myron who was leaning casually against the threshold of the door with a grin in his face.
"What chance do you three stand against us?" A rogue boasted and I snickered.
"Someone's full of himself!" Oscar muttered rolling his eyes.
"What will you do wolf?" another rogue asked.
"Ask me that if I fail to kick your ass." I said to him and kicked him in the stomach, crashing him against a wall.
And that is when the fight started.
"Go boys!" a rogue who told me my value said.
I turned and elbowed a rogue in the neck and punched another one in the face.
Nelson and Oscar had shifted into their wolves and were fighting with other rogues.
I kicked under the table breaking it and caught one leg of the table and hit a rogue on the head with it.
One mutt dared to hit my back with a chair, so I caught his collars and banged him against a wall cracking it.
Oscar and Nelson were snapping and killing other rouges.
After twisting the neck of a rogue, I saw the chief of the rogues, who told me my value running away like a coward.
I followed him and saw him running upstairs to the terrace.
Run all you want coward because at the end of the day, I'll still catch and kill you.
He finally stopped in the terrace and turned to face me.
When I walked closer to him, he picked the huge steel tank and threw it at me. I ducked and it hit a nearby wall.
Skidding, I went close to him and punched him on the stomach and he fell on the ground holding his stomach.
Quickly standing up, I kneed him below the chin and he groaned in pain. I punched him in the face first. When I raised my hand to punch him again, I felt an excruciating sting in my stomach.
It hurt like a bitch and so I stepped back.
At this the rogue began laughing. He rubbed the blood from his nose and stood up.
"The diamonds are mine now." he said and kicked me in the stomach.
My wolf started growing anxious because I was feeling Valerie's pain. The pain was coming from different parts of my body now.
My whole body felt sore.
How badly was he hitting her?
The rogue punched me in the face but I was busy panting and trying to compose myself to even care about him.
While I sat on the ground growling and panting I saw him go and pick the tank again.
Before he could hit me with it, I saw Nelson coming and elbowing the rogue behind his neck. The tank fell and he turned to face Nelson who caught his neck and twisted it.
I stood up slowly. "You have got to go. The place is going to self-destruct in three minutes. You have to go and save Valerie. One of the rogues opened his mouth. She is in some cliff." he said and I nodded.
"What about you all?" I asked him.
"We have to save the prisoners." he said as we were making our way downstairs. I stopped again and held my chest from the pain.
"It's Valerie, isn't it?" Nelson asked me his tone laced with sadness and I nodded.
"You know there is a statue of the previous white wolf in front of my Pack temple. Her name was Agnes. She was eight generations before me, but her stories were told to every one of us. She used to control fire. People say she was the strongest wolf of her time. No one dared to anger her because she was as fierce as fire. From the stories that I've heard, I think she was more dangerous than Valerie. Whenever I look at her statue, I always see fire in her eyes that will do anything to protect our kind and that same fire is visible in princess's eyes." he said and continued. "We all know fire burns everything, but water, it can be as forceful as fire because it wipes out everything. Valerie is different from us but she is just like Agnes. She isn't only a werewolf like us; she is the daughter of the Goddess just like Agnes. They have a unique look; it's their appearance as goddess's daughters. Agnes had someone who was not standing with her, but ahead of her, protecting her. He was Paul, her mate, her shield. And you are the same to Valerie. You have to go there. She'll need you, if not to get stronger then at least to control herself!" he said and walked ahead.
"Nelson." I called him.
"Yeah?"
"Thank you." I said. He nodded once and ran downstairs.
I went towards my car, opened the door, got in and started making my way towards the cliff.
My body was still hurting badly and I wanted to kill that bastard Mark for hurting my mate like that.
Now all I needed was to go to her.
*****
VALERIE
What the hell am I supposed to do now?
How can I fight him?
I thought the evil was something else, but I never in my wildest dreams thought that the evil is none other than the Goddess herself.
It was like me fighting against myself. All of a sudden, my knees started going weak.
"My child." the goddess called me in her angelic voice. Her voice so calm and filled with love, that for a while it made me forget all my worries. This was the voice I am used to hearing, whenever I talk to the goddess.
"My child." again the goddess called me but this voice wasn't like angel. It was more like hissing. That terrified me.
The two sides were complete opposites.
One with love, one with hatred.
Now, I understood what Mark meant when he said, we are equal. The moon was exact half. Half-moon day is when Mark and I are equal.
"From this day onwards, the dark moon will rule the world!" Mark said loudly bowing at his mother. It was like he was promising her that.
I looked at my Goddess, my mother.
Calm and serene as usual. That is what makes her special.
"Bless me." I whispered looking at her.
"You always have my blessings." she replied softly and then the two Goddesses disappeared bringing the half-moon back in the night sky.
I then turned to face Mark who was staring at me.
His green eyes turned into a darker shade of red. Great, his eye color is the same as mine!
I growled loudly and then my claws came out.
My wolf was tempted to come out but I still held her back.
I made the first move this time and ran towards him. He was prepared to stop me but I lunged high in the air and hit him hard in the face.
He fell on the ground from the force I used and I then kneed him on the stomach. Getting up, I elbowed him in the neck.
Growling ferociously, he caught my neck and threw me to a nearby tree. I collided against the branch of the tree which broke and scraped the back of my jacket.
Standing up, I removed and threw my jacket away. Growling, I lunged at him again.
This time I caught his nape and pierced him in the stomach with my claws. When I removed them out, it had blood in it.
So I held my hands in a fist and threw a punch at him.
I don't know how, but he caught a fistful of my hair in that moment and held my neck tightly.
I wouldn't scream, I wouldn't give him that satisfaction, I swore.
He once again threw me against a branch of a tree which broke, with the force I hit it with.
"That was good." Mark said wiping the blood from his nose. "Now let's begin round two." he said throwing his jacket away and then twisted his neck making his nerves crack. Dark wall of clouds appeared in the sky, covering the moon and the stars, followed by a roaring thunder. He closed his eyes and just like that, Mark's clothes changed into a pair of black trousers and black ill-fitted shirt with round neck. He also had a silver chain with black stone locket.
Looking at it, I knew it was his appearance as the son of the Dark moon Goddess.
Slowly, dirt and dust started flying around forming a tornado; I knew he was controlling the wind.
I only got the time to stand up when he made some hand moments and shoved a powerful wind against me which made me fly and land a few inches away from the edge of the cliff.
Gritting my teeth, I rolled away from the edge and stood up.
My nose was bleeding and I wiped it with the back of my hand.
I saw him again, raising the wind. This time the leaves started flying everywhere before dust spread around us. Few of the dust went into my eyes and he used it for his benefit, because he punched me in the stomach that exact moment.
It hurt me very badly and even my wolf whined at that.
I bit my bottom lip to stop myself from screaming.
"I expected a powerful opponent but you, you are a meek." he spat at me. "Maybe your Goddess didn't teach you how to fight!" he said to me, amused.
I didn't get a chance to reply because he caught my neck and raised me from the ground and then threw me away. My whole body was aching from the pain.
I don't know how long he continued doing that.
He used to control the wind and then throw me away with the force of the wind even before I could stand up.
"Do you know why I used to give you those pieces?" he asked me and then kicked me in the stomach. Crouching down, Mark held me by my hair and growled showing off his canines, "So that you could form a new statue and after I kill you, it will be the first statue that will turn dark followed by every statue in the country, which will turn dark forcing the wolves to worship my goddess! My own goddess!" he boasted.
"Over my dead body!" I said to him.
"I'm arranging that!" he said chuckling and then raised his fist. Before he could hit me I raised my legs and kicked him in the neck.
He fell on the ground and then smartly used his power to control the wind, throwing me away, before I could even make an attempt to hit him.
"Seems like your gift is useless." he said chuckling and pushed me away just by using his hands. I fell few feet away and hit my head against a rock. Blinking rapidly, I saw that the dusts were circling around quicker and quicker. He was preparing something big to kill me.
Placing my palms on the ground, I registered that Mark Ambrose was ripping a branch of a tree. Blinking again, I stood up and saw that my top was torn exposing my stomach. My whole body was sore from the cuts I got while he pushed me against a tree, repeatedly. I felt dizzy and then fell on my knees. I was kneeling on the ground clutching my stomach when he hit me hard, with a branch of a tree.
The smash was so hard that I fell on the ground on my stomach. I couldn't see anything clearly.
All I could see was black spots.
My head hurt a lot and I knew it was useless even trying to stand up straight.
Everything fell silent around me and I could hear my own breathing which was rough. I tried getting up but it was not possible.
I dug my claws into the ground even that didn't help because my claws had disappeared. My wolf was trying to heal but it was very difficult after so many wounds in my body.
I peeked through my droopy eyes and saw Mark closing his eyes and controlling the wind. He was creating a tornado and I knew that was enough to kill me right now.
I think that thing would rip my body into pieces considering how weak I am right now.
I felt so weak that even blinking was agonizing to me. Blood was oozing out from the corner of my head where he had hit me with the branch.
My hair was wet with that blood. My throat was dry and it was burning badly inside. I desperately wanted water.
I felt pathetic while I wailed from the pain.
I felt so weak at that moment and then the words he said to me flashed in my mind.
He would force everyone to worship his Goddess. Everyone to follow him and those who refuse will be treated badly.
Images of how I had seen Veronica, Nathan and everyone else in the dungeon flashed in my mind. How Zelia died flashed in my mind.
I will not let that happen.
Never!
Slowly taking a deep breath, I caught a fistful of red sand in my hand and stood on my fours on the ground. Growling and gritting my teeth, I managed to leave the support from my hands only to kneel on the ground. But it was better than lying limp.
Mark still had his eyes closed and gathering more dust and wind for the tornado, that was in front of him. The tornado which was twisting faster that a blender does.
Growling louder, I stood up again while Mark opened his eyes and smirked at me.
I saw the moment he made with his hands for the tornado to come in my direction.
From where I was standing, I could sense the devastation that thing would create.
I took a few steps back because everything around me was being attracted to that. The trees, the leaves and even the ripped pieces of my shirt were pulled by it.
It was coming closer and closer and I couldn't do anything. I watched Mark who was watching me gleefully. But the tiny drop of sweat, on the corner of his temple, caught my attention. He had used all of his energy in creating this destructive tornado.
He was tired but I was worst. I couldn't even stand straight, let alone fight him. My gaze then fell on the tornado and I knew I would be hit by it any second now.
Just when the tornado was about to hit me, I was pushed with so much force by someone that I went flying in the air and landed on the edge of the cliff where I rolled and fell into the ocean.
"No!" I heard Mark Ambrose yelling when I splashed into the cold water.
I was saved but I doubted about my savior.
And the pain that I felt in my heart told me my savior was Shawn, my Mate!
