WAR
VALERIE
As soon as the cold water touched my skin, I felt every wound, every sore on my skin healing.
The water was like heaven to me. My whole body was healed in no time and I gained all the strength back. But there was this painful stab in my heart that wouldn't heal.
My wolf was howling loudly with that pain.
She was trying to connect with our mate but it was not possible. He wasn't responding in the bond.
I was floating inside the ocean and I didn't know where Mark was. I didn't even care about him. I wanted Shawn.
Opening my eyes, I realised I was floating inside the water and so, I swam and stood in the middle of the ocean; the water was surface near my hip.
An unusual thing, I wasn't wearing my black jeans and top now. I was in a dress. A white off-shoulder knee length dress, which had ocean blue colored silk tie on the waist. The same dress that I wear every time when I meet the Goddess.
The dress signified that I was the Goddess's daughter and it was my appearance as the daughter of the Goddess.
I heard the sounds of waves which were furious because I was shaking with anger.
I wanted to see him.
My wolf wanted to see him. Growling maliciously, I looked around and splashed the water away. I was losing control to my wolf who only wanted him.
I screamed with the top of my lungs so loudly that it had all the bats flying away and the waves rising higher.
Using my werewolf speed, I rushed towards the shore and started climbing the huge rocks. Pretty soon I was on the top of the cliff.
The first thing I noticed was that Shawn was lying on the ground. His shirt and denim were torn here and there. But what bothered me was that he wasn't moving.
I heard a feral growl and that is when I saw a light grey color wolf that was standing a few feet away from Shawn. I have never seen a wolf before with that color. It was almost smoky grey and terrible scary to look. The grey fur of the wolf was pointed around its huge head. The wolf had red eyes and it almost looked like a serpent to me. The wolf was huge and scary.
It was Mark's wolf and my wolf instantly hated him.
He snapped his jaws at me showing me those sharp canines of his and then slowly started walking towards Shawn who was lying on the ground. I knew he was going to kill Shawn. I swear, I could almost see his evil grin.
I growled murderously when I saw him snapping his teeth again. Not my mate. Never.
He is not going to kill Shawn!
He is not going to kill my Mate!
He is not going to kill my mate, my wolf. And that was my wolf's thought.
The last thing I remembered was that I had lost control and shifted into my white wolf.
He is not going to kill my mate.
He will not even be able to touch my mate.
I am created to destroy evil in the world.
I am The White Wolf.
If he is the son of the dark moon then he has forgotten that I am the daughter of the Bright moon.
It is my duty to kill him and destroy the evil in this world.
The moment that evil wolf started charging at my mate, I ran towards him and snapped my jaws near his muzzle.
He took a step back and growled at me.
The evil wolf watched me with those hate filled gaze, while I lunged at him and bit the back of his neck. He rolled on the ground, pushing me away from him. I spat the fur that I had ripped from his skin.
Snapping my jaws, I walked slowly scrutinizing him. I knew his next move was to jump at me so I slightly bent my hind legs and waited for him.
Just like I expected, the evil wolf lunged at me and at the precise moment when he was about to bite me, I rolled and slipped away making him crash on the ground in a thud.
I took that opportunity to bite his neck as hard as possible.
He grunted in pain and tried using his paws to scratch me on my stomach.
The moment his blood was on my sharp canines, I let him go. His blood, which is what I wanted. I wanted it to be spilled on the ground. Licking his blood with my tongue, off my teeth, I snarled at him bearing my canines.
He then raised his front paws and scraped the side of my neck. I whined a little in pain and I saw satisfaction in the evil wolf's eyes.
Using my front paws I scratched him in the face creating a scar in between his eyes.
The moment blood started coming out from his skin, I snarled again.
Using my hind legs as support to stand I bit him in the back again. But it didn't hurt the evil wolf much because he kicked me, making me roll away. I was just able to scratch him, not rip a piece of his flesh.
When I saw him again he had shifted into his human form.
He was in his form wearing a black pant and shirt with the same black stone locket chain around his neck.
I didn't shift into my human form again because I wanted to see what the wolf is going to do.
When he closed his eyes I knew he was again using his gift to control the air.
Snarling once I quickly shifted into my human form. My form with the white dress, which signifies me as the daughter of the Goddess. I wasn't ready to step back and let my human side control me until he was dead. That is why, even after I shifted, I didn't let go of the control I had over my human side.
Standing stiffly opposite him, I patiently waited until the wolf was ready.
I smirked at him when he created the same wind storm using the air around.
He had a confused look in his face when he saw me smirking.
The wolf does remember that air cannot be caught like water, but the wolf seemed to have forgotten that air can be pulled however you want it to.
Closing my eyes, I started concentrating on the water in the ocean.
I started creating a huge round wall of water in the ocean and using my hands I started rotating it continuously until there was a waterspout in the ocean.
The evil didn't even expect what came next because the storm created by him was pulled in by the waterspout within seconds, swallowing it. He couldn't even form the tornado.
Gritting his teeth, the evil wolf made some more moments with his hands and then smirked when he saw the storm. At the same time, I raised the waterspout high, the sounds of the water twisting like a tornado in the ocean, audible like a roar of thousand lions. The evil wolf, unaware about this flicked his hand towards me, guiding the storm to hit me but before it could hit me, I raised my hands high in the air, motioning the mouth of the funnel, of the waterspout, towards the storm so that it could pull the destructive thing.
This happened for few minutes. He created around five to six storms which were all pulled by the water.
Growling, he finally gave up and then proceeded to attack me.
This time when he brought his fist towards me I skidded and then kicked him in the thighs making him fall on the ground. He fell on the ground by the force and snarled at me.
But that wasn't enough for me. I wanted his blood. He had few cuts in his body but I wanted him to suffer more.
Using my gift, I brought the water from the waterspout around him and made it splash all over him completely soaking him.
I wanted him to suffer the same way he made me suffer by sending me flying in the air. Clenching my teeth, I started raising the waves higher and then brought the stream of water and splashed it all over him multiple times.
Getting hit by cold and salty water with that much force was hurting him. The proof was the grunts of pain he used to make when the salt water used to touch the wounds in his skin.
Whenever the salt water would touch the graze in between his eyes his healing process would slow down and then he would grunt in pain all over again.
Literally rubbing salt in someone's wound had never been this fun. I saw that the dark clouds created by the evil wolf, who was standing in front of me, in his human form, were gone and the moon along with the stars were visible.
He rushed towards me and holding my arm, he roughly pushed me to the ground such that, I fell face first against the ground. I spat out the sand in my mouth and glared at him. He then bent down and holding me by my hair, started dragging me but before he could do whatever he wanted to do, I dug the sharp claws of my hands into his thighs which had him yelping in pain. Pulling out my bloodied claws, off his skin, I punched him in the stomach with as much force I could muster. It hit him, because he skidded backwards before falling flat on his back.
Standing up, I concentrated on the water again and using my hands motioned for it to come up. Drawing a small quantity of water towards me, I formed a small spheroid in between my hands and pushed it with full force on him.
He crashed against a tree and the sound of him crying in pain was like music to my ears. I saw him controlling the wind again and before I could attack him, he guided the wind towards me compelling me to fall back. Standing up, I saw the smirk in his face when he saw the cut in my shoulders.
"You will die today, white wolf!" he sneered. His red eyes turning a shade darker.
Running towards him, I leapt in the air kneeing him in the neck. Catching a fistful of his hair, I knocked my head against his nose.
His nose started bleeding and I punched it all again before clawing him in the chest.
He caught my neck and then pinned me against the trunk of a tree. While I tried to loosen his hold on my neck, he caught me by my waist and threw me against the same rock again. My head hurt when I hit it but still, I tried standing up. However before I could stand up, the evil wolf caught me by my hair and then held my wrist against my back. Before he could twist it, I knocked the back of my head against his nose and then using my free hand, I clawed his hand which was holding my hair forcing him to let go off me. Turning around, I shoved him in the chest and then snarled cruelly.
Walking back a few steps, I started running towards him and then using his chest as stairs, I leapt over him. Standing behind his back, I wrapped my one arm around his neck and used the other to hold his head.
Growling once again, I twisted his neck and heard the sounds of nerves crack and bones snap.
He fell on the ground in a loud thud.
That wasn't enough for me. I walked in a circle around him wanting him to get up.
One moment I walked in my human form and the next moment I shifted into my wolf form.
I was walking around him but he showed no sign of getting up.
The darkness in the sky was slowly fading. The stars were disappearing. The sun would rise soon but I wanted to kill him before that.
I didn't want an unworthy opponent.
The storm he had created had already passed away. He had become weak and so has his powers.
Looking at my mother in the sky, I howled loudly. This was to warn everyone to stay away from my kill.
He was mine and I am the only one who is going to kill him.
I stepped over his dead body and noticed that he had stopped breathing.
Looking at him in the ground, I went and bit his neck hard decapitating the evil wolf's head and throwing it away.
When I was done with him, I howled again. It was to send the message to everyone who followed the evil to come and fight me, if they dared.
I was waiting for others who wanted to fight against me by supporting the evil.
Snapping my teeth, I looked around the woods. They were many wolves who were coming to the woods but all stopped in their tracks when I challenged them to come close.
They all bowed their heads indicating they weren't going to oppose me.
When I was sure that no one wanted to fight me, I shifted back into my human form.
My mate was the only one that came into my mind. I closed my eyes and tried to connect with him through the bond but I felt nothing.
I walked closer to him and fell on my knees.
Running my fingers through his hair, I tried shaking him. Growls were coming from me when my mate wasn't replying to me.
I cupped his face in my hands but he wasn't moving. He was as cold as ice.
"Val." a dark brown haired she-wolf l called from behind.
I snarled at her and she stepped back immediately looking scared. Another wolf came and pulled her closer to him.
I turned to look at my mate, my wolf, who wasn't responding to me.
My whole body was shaking with anger since he wasn't replying to me.
I placed his head on my lap and tried waking him up but he didn't move. I didn't want to hurt him because he was my mate.
I shook him a few times but there was no response from him.
"Valerie." someone called again.
Growling at the wolf, I pulled my mate closer to my chest to protect him from any harm.
The wolf was looking at me with sympathy in his eyes and I knew I didn't need that.
"Valerie, leave Shawn, let the doctor do a check up on him." the wolf said but I shook my head and held my mate closer to me.
I am not going to leave him.
He is mine. My mate.
I snarled at the wolf and he flinched.
"She is not in control!" the same wolf said in a sad tone.
I had wrapped my arms around my mate's shoulders and tried waking him up.
When I rested my head against his, I couldn't hear his breathing. I pulled away not able to believe it.
He... he can't leave me. I shook my head a few times and tried connecting with him through the bond with no response.
Not able to believe it, I looked at my mother in the sky and screamed loudly.
She cannot do this to me.
I want him back. I want my mate back.
I wanted my mate back now.
She cannot do this to me.
I looked around at the other wolves. They all had sadness etched in their faces. I didn't want that from them. I didn't want anything other than my mate.
No. This is not going to happen.
I will not let this happen. I will not let him die on me.
I tried shaking him again and again. He was like a rock on the ground.
No! no! no!
My whole body started shaking with anger.
I wanted to save him, heal him, however I wasn't capable of doing that. I had lost my gift.
I still wanted him back.
I looked at the Goddess again wanting her to appear and save him but she was also a rock in the sky.
No!
Not my mate. I won't let her take him!
My whole body started shaking with anger and thunderous growls erupted from my chest.
If saving our kind means losing my Mate, then I am going to destroy everything, kill everyone, around me!
Everyone will die if I lose him.
Everyone! Gently placing him down on the ground, I stood up and looked at the Pack of wolves in front of me.
I wanted to kill them. If he is taken away from me, then everyone will die!
They all panicked and stepped back when they saw me.
Growling maliciously, I started making my way towards them but stopped when I heard an angelic voice.
'My child.' she called me.
I stopped in my tracks and looked at her in the sky. For a moment, my vision got blurred and I couldn't see her.
'My child.' I heard my mother calling me again but she wasn't anywhere.
'Come to me.' she said and I closed my eyes.
When I opened them, I was in the same place where I had first seen the Goddess.
The moon flowers were entwined around the white pillars.
She was sitting in a silver chariot; her face wasn't visible to me. She was shining like a million stars this time.
She radiated happiness.
But I couldn't find that happiness.
My heart was breaking inside me. I wanted Shawn.
"Do you know how many prime stars are there in the constellation Ursula Major?" she asked me softly and hearing her tone, I knew, she was smiling. I didn't answer for a long time because I was dull. I wanted Shawn, my mate.
I also didn't know why she asked me that, but since she had told me last time that six people who died for me belonged to that constellation.
"Six." I replied to her.
"No my child, there are seven prime stars and now it's time for me to bring back the seventh star." She said in the same angelic voice.
I felt the ground collapse beneath me after hearing her words.
Seventh star?
Shawn is the seventh star?
