BENNY'S POV.
"Mr. Benny, this is a report on the progress of the Bukit Beach Housing project that Handerson Group is planning with Hudge Group."
Benny turned his gaze towards the document given to him by George, his personal secretary. Benny gave a brief smile of thanks to George before pulling out the document. He opened it slowly and read it with a serious look on his face.
"Since Mr. Bram was officially fired and put on the Hudge Group's black list, the development of the Pantai Bukit Housing project has been going quite fast. Bukit Beach Housing has reached the stage of completion, the calculation is approximately eighty-seven percent."
Hearing George's explanation made Benny feel relieved. Benny had actually suspected that the development of the Bukit Beach Housing project would run more smoothly if Bram was removed from the Hudge Group company. The case that happened to Bram a while ago had delayed the development of the Pantai Bukit Housing project.
"Of course the progress has accelerated quite quickly. We've gotten rid of the source of the problem that was holding up the project." Benny replied while giving George a proud smile.
George nodded his head. "It's good that Mr. Benny has managed to get rid of Mr. Bram. Poor Mrs. Asleena. Since the Hudge Group company was led by the previous CEO, Mrs. Asleena's father must have had a hard time finding out who the traitor in the company was."
Benny agreed with George. With a nod of his head while clearing his throat briefly, Benny replied, "Right. Bram should have been arrested a long time ago. The previous construction project should also have been completed sooner."
"That's right, Mr. Benny," George replied. "I'm very happy that Mrs. Asleena has been able to run her company well without a traitor like Bram."
Benny again nodded in agreement but this time he didn't say anything. Benny was still reading and looking at the outline of the Bukit Beach Housing building in the document. The original results looked satisfactory. Benny didn't expect this project to go smoothly, the results exceeded his expectations.
"Have you made sure Mrs. Asleena knows about this?" replied Benny who had finished reading the contents of the document.
George shook his head. "Unfortunately not, Mr. Benny. It looks like the rest of this document will be handed over to Mrs. Asleena today. Just like you."
"Ah..." Benny replied understandingly while nodding his head repeatedly. "That's good then. Mrs. Asleena will be happy to hear this news. Then, is there any other report you want to give me?"
When Benny tried to glance at George's hand that wasn't holding anything, George shook his head. George gave a formal smile.
"Nothing, Mr. Benny. The report I wanted to give you is just that," George replied later.
Finally, Benny closed the document that George had given him earlier. Benny then gave the folder of documents to George.
"Keep this, thank you for your report," Benny said seriously.
After Benny gave him the folder, George accepted it carefully. George was just about to leave Benny's presence when he remembered something.
"Mr. Benny. I have something to ask you," George said.
Benny, who was about to turn his attention to work, immediately turned his gaze back to George. Benny looked at George curiously.
"What is it?" he asked curiously.
"A few hours ago I got a report from the receptionist that someone wanted to see you. But the receptionist didn't know who it was," George explained cautiously.
Benny's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Benny froze for a moment thinking about who George was referring to.
"Is there someone who wants to see me?" Benny asked George for confirmation.
"Yes," George replied. "A woman. She hasn't made an appointment with you but is rather insistent on seeing Mr. Benny. She wouldn't give her name when the receptionist asked for it for the purpose of reporting to you."
Hearing George's explanation made Benny even more confused. Benny had no business or interest in meeting a woman. He rarely cooperated with any woman because he tried to keep his distance so that there would be no problems.
"Who is that woman? Do I have an agreement or business with a woman, George?" asked Benny.
Benny's question made George immediately shake his head. George held and recorded all the business of Benny's meetings with everyone.
"Nothing, Mr. Benny. That's what makes me wonder. When the receptionist tried to deny her arrival, she left a message for you," George said.
"The receptionist said she asked how Mr. Benny was doing. She wanted him to know that she was coming back," George continued, ending the conversation.
Benny frowned even more as he couldn't figure out who the woman was. As he remembered, the only woman he had ever really wanted to meet was Bella. But hasn't Bella never come again since her actions were exposed by the media? Benny felt there was no way Bella would dare to come again, let alone intend to interfere with his and Asleena's relationship.
"Who is that woman?" Benny wondered out of curiosity. "Ah, but I don't really need to know who she is. Just tell the receptionist, if that woman comes again and insists on seeing me, there's no need to come if she and I have nothing important to do."
George nodded briefly as if he understood Benny's request. There was no argument from him. George then slightly bowed his head as a sign of goodbye. Before George finally stepped away from Benny's presence.
After George had left the office, Benny let out a rough sigh. Both of his shoulders slumped limply. Benny didn't understand why it felt like strange people had been arriving since yesterday. As if it wasn't enough that Robert insisted on seeing and being with Asleena, now there was a woman who insisted on seeing Benny.
"I hope there won't be any more problems when Asleena and I settle down," Benny murmured hopefully.
Just as Benny was about to turn his attention to his laptop to continue working, he heard his cell phone ring. Benny was surprised and turned his gaze to where his cell phone was.
"Gosh, you startled me," he grumbled to the phone.
Benny picked up his cell phone which was lying not far from him. Then Benny saw an unknown number displayed as the contact who had called him.
Benny's eyebrows furrowed. He didn't pick up the call immediately. For a few seconds, he just looked at the phone screen with an astonished expression. He didn't know whether the person calling him now had malicious intentions or not.
Because he was wary of that, Benny finally let the phone call ring while his cell phone was left lying around. Benny shook his head briefly before turning his attention back to his work laptop.
"I don't understand why people have been wondering since yesterday. Who called me when I didn't save their number?" Benny asked himself. He felt strange, but didn't want to think about it too much.
The phone call stopped. Benny's eyes briefly glanced at the cell phone, then returned to his work.
Then shortly thereafter Benny's cell phone rang again because of a second phone call. Benny stopped the movement of his fingers that were doing his work.
"Same number?" Benny muttered again after seeing the unsaved number displayed on his phone screen.
With a puzzled look on his face, Benny kept looking at his phone. Somehow he felt uncomfortable if he didn't pick up this phone call. On the other hand, Benny was also worried that this phone call was a prank call that trapped him.
"Damn. I feel so uncomfortable right now," Benny complained as he let out a rough breath and leaned his back against the back of the chair.
Benny didn't take his eyes off the phone. For the second time, the call on his cell phone stopped. There was still no reaction from Benny except to chuckle softly repeatedly while considering the estimation of who was calling him.
A few seconds after the call stopped, a pop up notification of a message appeared from the top of the phone screen. Benny's attention was somewhat drawn after witnessing the appearance of the notification. Spontaneously, Benny straightened his sitting position to read the message on the phone screen more closely.
The message read 'Pick up my call, it's Robert. Are you busy at work?
Benny was both stunned and confused as to why Robert was calling him. He had no idea that the unknown number on his cell phone belonged to Robert.
"Robert?" asked Benny in disbelief.
After the message appeared, within seconds a phone call appeared again. Benny was no longer surprised. But he needed to prepare himself by staying still for a few seconds.
Until finally Benny decided to pick up the phone call from Robert. Benny did not immediately say anything when he put the phone screen to his ear. He deliberately waited for Robert to speak.
"Hey, Benny," Robert said to open the phone conversation. There was a small chuckle in his words. "Is it true I called Benny?"
Benny cringed at the sound of Robert's voice, which sounded like he was deliberately mocking him. He rolled his eyes in disgust, then let out a rough sigh.
"No, it's not. It's not Benny," Benny replied in a tone that didn't sound friendly at all.
From the other end of the line, Robert laughed with an amused snort. Robert realized that Benny was very annoyed at the sound of his voice.
"You're supposed to greet me in a friendly manner, why do you sound annoyed with me instead?" Robert replied with a joking laugh.
Benny, who was somewhat disturbed by Robert's phone call, straightened his seat. Benny let out another rude breath for the umpteenth time.
"I don't know why you're calling me like this all of a sudden," Benny replied in a firm and emphasized tone. Even so, Benny still sounded calm. "If you don't have any important business with me, it's better to end this phone conversation. I already have a lot of work to do."
Robert's eyebrows furrowed sharply at Benny's threatening words. Robert still looked very calm on the other side of the phone, flinching for a moment.
"Hold on, Benny. I actually want to talk to you about something important," Robert said, trying to hold Benny back.
