29.
VINCENT'S POV.
"Can't you cancel the wedding between Benny and his future wife?" Gerald's voice sounded pleading. His eyes watched me, Waston, and Kathrine in turn.
I really didn't expect that there would be a family meeting like this. Outside the VVIP hospitalization room, I followed his parents who were invited to gather with Bella's parents.
Hearing Gerald's question made me unable to say anything. He did not expect that Gerald would ask for things that were very impossible to obey. On the other hand, I felt uncomfortable answering Gerald's question.
"Gerald, I know this may sound painful. But we can't cancel what your grandfather has planned," Waston said with a facial expression that regretted his own answer.
In front of Waston, Gerald immediately let out a rough sigh. Gerald looked confused and anxious at the same time, especially when his eyes fell on Bella's hospital room. There was something he was thinking about.
"I just can't bear Bella," replied Gerald who was still looking into the room. His forehead wrinkled as his anxiety grew stronger. "If she continues like this, we'll face danger. What if we don't keep an eye on her one day?"
I was still watching Gerald who was subtly insisting. His hands were folded in front of his chest. He deliberately wanted to know the extent to which Gerald instigated his parents.
"Gerald, it should be your and your wife's responsibility to tell Bella. She can't force anything to follow her wishes," Kathrine replied, her tone more subtle. It might have been uncomfortable for her to say that.
"Yes, we know, we've already done that," Gerald replied. "Unfortunately Bella is very stubborn. I'm worried that she might do something-"
"Then it's your job to look after Bella," I said quickly, cutting Gerald off. "Why are you forcing others to do what you want? We've already told you the logical reasons why we rejected you."
Gerald instantly fell silent after hearing my words. His lips were silenced for an instant. There was a faint shock on his facial expression, but on the other hand Gerald seemed somewhat offended by my words.
Gerald immediately did not say anything else. From the look in his eyes as he looked at Tyas-his wife, a mixed sadness and confusion was implied.
"Benny," Kathrine admonished me with a warning expression. "Don't be like that. Don't say anything that could hurt Mr. Gerald."
I was a little annoyed at Kathrine's reprimand. Turning his head, I leaned toward Kathrine and said something.
"Mr. Gerald wasn't thinking when he said that to us. Why should I think about whether my words hurt him or not?" I asked. But instead of using a low voice, Benny raised his voice slightly.
As a result, Gerald heard what I was saying. Gerald was shocked, and so was Kathrine.
Meanwhile, I just straightened his sitting position with a forced smile. As if he didn't feel guilty after saying his sentence.
Not wanting to prolong the matter, I sighed heavily. "I already have a lot to think about. I have to go," he said.
Without waiting long, I stood up from his chair and let his parents reprimand him through facial expressions. I adjusted the collar of his shirt first, gave a quick smile to Gerald and Tyas, then nodded to his parents.
"I'm leaving now," I said.
That was all.
I walked away from the gathering even though he hadn't gotten an answer. Somehow I couldn't hear more of Gerald's persuasion that he wanted him to cancel the wedding plan.
As he walked, I thought about himself. I had never really wanted to get married. Why did he maintain his wedding plans and reject the Bella-women who had already gotten to know him?
I really didn't understand.

"Ah, so it turns out he has someone very close to him," Amber said after getting a report from Rogger about what I was doing.
"But I don't know who that woman is yet, Miss Amber. It looks like she's from a fairly wealthy family because the hospitalization room is VVIP," Rogger replied, explaining again.
In front of Rogger, Amber tapped her forefinger repeatedly while biting her lower lip. Amber tried to guess who the woman was who had gotten close before her.
At that time, Amber did not expect me to keep another woman close to him. For some reason she had a bad feeling. There was a nagging feeling about her, but I didn't know what it was.
Unable to say anything, I finally let out a rough breath. I let out a small chuckle.
"Why didn't he tell me he had a girl he was already close to?" she grumbled.
Hearing that made Rogger frown in astonishment. Rogger looked at Amber both confused and suspicious.
"Why does Miss Amber sound upset?" Rogger asked.
Amber immediately turned to Rogger, realizing the suspicion in the look before her eyes. Amber was silent for a moment, frowning strangely and awkwardly at Rogger, then sighed heavily while rolling her eyes in disgust.
After Amber tried to neutralize her awkwardness, Amber chuckled. She pretended to wave her hands as she shook her head. Acting as if nothing was bothering her.
"You're too suspicious," Asleena snapped. "I was just asking. I mean, if he has a woman he's really close to, how will she feel when she finds out he's getting married?"
Rogger was speechless. His eyes squinted slightly at Asleena as if he was getting suspicious.
"Ah, I thought you were jealous that Benny was with another woman," Rogger replied with a small, joking laugh. "Mr. Benny certainly wouldn't care about that woman."
Asleena, despite her feigned indifference, had a curious glance. "Why? How did you know?"
"I don't know, Miss Asleena. I'm sure of it. Maybe they're just close as friends and Mr. Benny must have made sure she didn't interfere."
"How can you be sure?" Asleena still looked doubtful and worried. Of course, she was a woman too.
"Miss Asleena, I've heard that Mr. Benny is very close to his grandfather. So it's likely that the wedding plans won't be interrupted," Rogger replied without any hesitation at all, as opposed to Asleena.
For a few seconds Asleena was silent, Asleena immediately exhaled slowly. At the thought of someone suddenly disrupting Benny and her wedding plans, Asleena shuddered.
"I'm not jealous," Asleena said, answering Rogger's earlier question. "This was my father's request. And you also said only Benny's company can save this company. So, I feel like I can't let the plan fail, let alone have the other party find out and try to mess it up."
"I understand Ms. Asleena's anxiety." Rogger looked at Asleena with a slightly pitying look in his eyes. "Take it easy, Miss. I'll take care of you too."
"Can you make sure no one will mess up my wedding plans with Benny?" Asleena asked.
Rogger nodded confidently. "Of course. I should be able to do that."
Only then could Asleena arch a smile. There was a slight feeling of relief that swept through her heart. Although she could not deny that the sense of worry and caution had not disappeared.
Asleena's brain still imagined the possibility of someone leaking her marriage with Benny. Meanwhile, her position as the CEO of Hudge Group could not be told publicly. Also, if the marriage between the CEO of Hudge Group and the CEO of Handerson Group were to spread, perhaps the enemy would hide even tighter.
Asleena wanted the traitor her father was referring to to feel safe. Only then could Asleena catch him.
"You know, I'd be really embarrassed if our marriage got out. Chaos would ensue."
"Yes, Miss. Moreover... Miss Asleena must know who the traitor is in Hudge Group Company."
Asleena nodded in agreement. Justifying Rogger's words.
"How do we find the traitor?"
