42.
AMBER'S POV.
I did not expect that the situation would be this difficult for Vincent.
For some reason, I felt that Vincent had spent more effort to find out who had spread the photo of the two of them. I felt uneasy because if the photo continued to spread without stopping, then people would find out about their marriage.
The Handerson Group and Hudge Group were not small companies.
I didn't want to get into any trouble that could expose her identity. Because if I became the talk of the town or the center of people's attention, she would not be free to find out who the Handerson Group traitor was who killed her parents.
Now I was constantly pacing back and forth in her private office. Asleena racked her brains to figure out how to hide from all the crowds. But on the other hand, her brain considered that she couldn't just run away.
"If they all try to find out the details, then Benny and I will have to sacrifice our identities," Asleena said to herself. Asleena bit her lower lip and thought hard.
Not long after, there was a knock on the door. Asleena gasped slightly in surprise and reflexively looked back. After giving permission using an exclamation phrase for the person outside to enter her room, it turned out that it was the package delivery man who knocked.
Asleena frowned. "Mr. Bobby?" she called out in surprise, then stepped closer to Bobby who was pushing a special stroller carrying packages.
Bobby gave a polite smile of formality while bowing his head briefly. "Miss Asleena, I have a package for you. Someone left this. It looks like he really likes you."
Likes Asleena?
Asleena just smiled with a grimace at Bobby's words. It's been almost three months since the first mail package someone sent. Asleena continued to get a mail package once per week.
"Here, Miss Asleena. There might be something that was also put in the envelope. You see... it feels a bit heavy," Bobby informed.
After receiving the letter in her hand, Asleena threw Bobby a sweet smile.
"Thank you, Mr. Bobby. Congratulations on continuing your task of delivering packages," said Asleena, who tried to hide her anxiety about getting this letter package.
Bobby only replied with a nod of formality and walked away again. As Bobby left the workspace of Asleena's private office, Rogger's figure suddenly appeared.
Rogger was surprised to cross paths with Bobby. But soon Rogger diverted his attention again and returned to Asleena.
"Miss Asleena," Rogger called out in a low tone. "Did you get something?"
Hearing Rogger's question made Asleena frown. Asleena was dumbfounded that Rogger would suddenly ask something that coincided with the arrival of this letter.
"How can you ask that question?" Asleena asked back, looking at Rogger in surprise. "I just got a letter, Rogger. But unlike other letters, I feel like there's something inside this one."
Rogger immediately shifted his gaze to the letter in Asleena's hand. He also felt as suspicious as Asleena at that moment.
"Did you open it?" Rogger asked.
Asleena shook her head. She was curious about this letter, but then she became curious about whether Rogger was hiding something or not.
"Let me open the letter, Miss Asleena," Rogger replied, asking politely for permission.
Finally Asleena let him. For a few seconds Asleena waited for Rogger to open the envelope that covered the letter. After the envelope was opened, Asleena realized that the object placed with the letter was a necklace.
Asleena was confused looking at the silver necklace. At first there was nothing surprising. Until finally Asleena realized that the symbol on this necklace was very similar to the one on someone's necklace.
"Read me the letter, Rogger," Asleena said without taking her eyes off the necklace still dangling from Rogger's hand.
Seeing that Asleena seemed to feel something, Rogger hurriedly put the necklace back into the envelope. Rogger picked up the folded paper before finally reading the written description on the paper.
"If you want to see me, come to Cafe Dottaria La' Venesco," Rogger said, reading the letter. Her brows furrowed even further. "That's all there is to the letter, Miss Asleena. Wait, who sent you the letter?"
Asleena paused to think about something. Seeing the look of the necklace, her mind immediately went to the object she saw a few months ago. It was on the day of Asleena and Benny's wedding.
The symbol of the necklace was very familiar to Asleena.
"No sender's name?" she asked.
"Nothing," Rogger replied. "What happened to you, Miss Asleena?"
Asleena, still with a dazed look in her eyes, turned her gaze to Rogger. Without answering Rogger's question, Asleena finally took out the necklace that was kept in the envelope. Then Asleena let the necklace dangle in front of Rogger's face for his intense attention.
"Did you notice something?" asked Asleena as she dangled the necklace.
Rogger's eyeballs moved left and right following the movement of the necklace. Rogger didn't actually notice anything so he still felt strange.
"I feel familiar seeing the crest on this necklace, Rogger," Asleena replied. "This is a similar necklace emblem to Bella's necklace. It looks like Bella deliberately informed herself as the sender through this necklace's crest code."
Rogger was surprised to hear Asleena's words. "Are you sure, Miss Asleena?" he asked.
Asleena nodded her head firmly. "Yes, I'm very sure. Otherwise, why is the emblem of this necklace shown so clearly?"
Finally, what Asleena said made Rogger think again. Asleena couldn't figure out more clearly how to explain to Rogger. However, her conviction did not change.
***
Asleena's guess was right.
When she came to Cafe Dottaria La' Venesco and sat down in a special chair in the private area, Asleena found Bella. Bella was sitting with her back to the entrance of this private area, apparently just sipping hot tea. Asleena stepped into the empty chair opposite Bella's chair.
"That's right, you sent the letter," Asleena said before sitting down, watching Bella with an intense gaze.
Bella had just finished sipping her tea. Then she slowly lowered her hands that held a cup of Dutch tea. This scent was very recognizable to Asleena.
"Can you guess who sent the letter just from the crest on the necklace?" asked Bella without looking at Asleena. Her smile curved serenely, then quickly averted her eyes. "No wonder Benny agreed to choose you as his wife. You're both clever and meticulous."
Asleena looked at Bella with both suspicion and confusion. "So, you've been the one sending me letters?" she asked as she slowly sat down in front of Bella.
Bella was speechless for a moment. She then showed a confused expression on her face. "'All this time' letters to you? What kind of letters? I've only sent you one letter."
Suddenly, Asleena was shocked. The smile and sarcasm on her face was held back for a moment. Before Asleena finally openly showed interest.
"Then, why did you send a letter instead of being able to send a personal email or something?"
Bella smiled meaningfully while watching the chopsticks in her hand.
"Because... what do you think?" Bella asked back. "It's not important, Asleena," he said, then put the golden chopsticks back in place. "Shouldn't you be thinking about something else? Like... who's really the one who spread the pictures of you and Benny?"
Instantly Asleena's frown faded after hearing Bella's words. Asleena changed the look on her face to a flat one. As a sudden feeling of discomfort attacked her, Asleena folded her hands on the table. Asleena looked at Bella very seriously.
"Why do I see a look on your face as if you're hiding something?" Asleena quipped as she looked Bella right in the eyeballs.
Bella was not provoked. Still with the calmness she had a few seconds ago, Bella also folded her hands on the table. Bella followed Asleena who leaned her sitting position so that she could look closer.
Only then, Asleena was able to realize that Bella was indeed hiding something. Bella's lopsided smile curved as a sign of relief.
"You should take better care of yourself and Benny, Asleena. Shouldn't you find out who is the traitor in your company?" Bella said so calmly, her voice smooth like running water, but able to provoke Asleena's emotions.
"Traitor..." Asleena suddenly choked up, a dazed look on her face for a moment. "How do you know about traitors?"
The corners of Bella's lips curled in a cunning manner. "No one told me, I just guessed. You seem to be hiding yourself from a lot of people. That means you're looking for something."
I don't know why Asleena's anger erupted at Bella at this moment. Asleena really couldn't figure out how to deal with someone like Bella. Also, she couldn't guess what Bella was thinking at that moment.
"Tell me, did you have a specific intention of inviting me to meet here?" said Asleena because she couldn't help herself.
Bella felt interested after successfully provoking Asleena. She nodded her head. "Of course. I'll let you know that there's someone who really wants to help you, but you're hurting him instead."
"Help me?" Asleena smiled wryly with a sardonic laugh. "What do you mean help?"
"I'm helping you not to have so many worrisome incidents. But since you... you were desperate to do something, I was unfortunately forced to do something too."
Asleena didn't understand what Bella was talking about exactly. But as long as she watched Bella, who gave a sly smile, Asleena knew that Bella's intentions were connected to the events of the past few months.
"If you're just rambling, I'll leave-"
"Eits, you can't just leave," said Bella holding Asleena back. "I want to tell you that the photo spread won't stop easily."
Asleena felt uncomfortable at that moment. Especially after Bella gave her a lopsided smile.
"Because my picture with Benny is on your phone?" Asleena guessed.
Instantly Bella dropped her sardonic smile. "How did you know?"
