66.
ASLEENA'S POV.
"I mean, I'm not forbidding you if you want to do something to Asleena, Bella. You know I can also do many things to protect Asleena. Don't forget that I have the power to do many things," Benny answered Bella's question firmly.
Bella laughed sarcastically for the umpteenth time as she looked away. She had no idea that Benny would be so assertive in her defense of Asleena. Her heart burned as she had never experienced Benny's protective side.
"I didn't know you would care so much about Asleena. Actually, what has Asleena given you?" asked Bella, who looked at Benny as if she was dismissive. "I know your marriage didn't happen because you loved each other. You had a marriage contract, right?"
Benny frowned with a surprised expression on his face. How did Bella know that the marriage between Benny and Asleena was a contract marriage? That's what was going through her brain at that moment.
Benny didn't know that Bella had looked that deep. I don't know where Bella found out about Benny and Asleena's marriage contract agreement. Even though the contract agreement is something very private. Even though Bella knew that Benny and Asleena's marriage was not publicized to everyone at first, Bella should not have known about the marriage contract.
"Why, are you surprised that I know about the marriage contract between you two?" Bella immediately asked with a chuckle after noticing the surprised look on Benny's face.
Benny was still somewhat dumbfounded watching Bella who seemed satisfied with his reaction. Just from the look on Bella's face alone, Benny could already read that Bella had a lot of cunning to get what she wanted. That's why Benny immediately got goosebumps to the point of shuddering in horror.
"Wow... you're really crazy," Benny replied expressively while shaking his head. "You have absolutely no respect for other people's privacy. You know things that neither Asleena nor I have told anyone. Do you feel proud about that?"
Bella sighed heavily. The look on her face regretted that Benny was showing such caution towards her. What Benny said did not affect Bella's feelings at all.
"Benny, where did I say I felt proud?" Bella asked. "I'm just making sure that my information is correct. The issue of where I found out about your and Asleena's marriage contract is not important-"
"Of course it's important, Bella," Benny cut in firmly and swiftly. "Because I need to know where you got your hands on such private information."
Bella sighed heavily with a grinning smile. She was genuinely satisfied to witness Benny's reaction, which seemed so worried. It was as if he had one level more power.
"Wah! Hahaha! I feel very satisfied seeing your expression, Benny!" Bella said as she clapped her hands together and laughed loudly. Her head tilted up as she laughed, implying satisfaction. "You acted like you were so powerful a moment ago. Now you look worried! That means I'm one level above you because I know loopholes that you don't realize."
Benny let out a long sigh, then froze watching Bella who was still laughing. But this time Bella repeatedly made apologetic gestures to the other patrons in the cafe where they were - because the patrons near their seats immediately looked over because they were somewhat disturbed.
"I hope you can still take care of Asleena if you can't figure out the loophole I found," Bella said with a lopsided smile.
Benny took a deep breath before finally letting it out. For some reason Benny couldn't feel calm after the conversation with Bella from earlier.
"So you're challenging me now?" Benny asked.
Bella lowered her shoulders with a facial expression that showed a mocking smile. She didn't answer anything to Benny's question. But from the expression on her face, she seemed to show a mocking expression.
"I'm just trying to tell you something important. You're really trying to protect Asleena, aren't you? You have to know the loophole I found if you don't want anything to happen to Asleena. Only then can you protect her."
Benny leaned his back against the back of the chair as he let out a long breath. For some reason Benny was now thinking about Robert. Until now, Robert had not come to this café, the place where they had made a meeting agreement.
Where was Robert? Why was there only Bella here and the two of them having a serious conversation?
"Now I ask you..." Benny looked back at Bella very seriously while straightening his sitting position. Benny pointed at Bella's face as his sitting position again leaned slightly closer to Bella. "Are you related to Robert? Tell me where Robert is now!"
Hearing Benny's insistence made Bella somewhat surprised. Bella was silent for a few seconds, looking at Benny with a confused expression. But her shock and confusion only lasted for a moment. Bella soon chuckled at Benny's words.
"Who's Robert? I don't know him," replied Bella who then looked away.
Benny watched Bella with a serious gaze. Throughout that time, Benny tried to find out whether Bella was lying or not. Only then, Benny knew whether Bella knew Robert or not.
"I'm not sure you don't know him. I had an appointment with that man when I came, at this cafe. But all I found was you. How could you be in the same place where I had an appointment with him? How could you have arrived at the time of my appointment with Robert?" Benny asked then. He deliberately spoke to the point.
Bella was dumbfounded by Benny's questions. She immediately felt a bit nervous because she didn't expect Benny to realize such details. Even so, Bella tried to look so that she didn't feel nervous.
"Wait... you're too passionate, Benny. What happened to you to think of such bad possibilities about me?" Bella looked at Benny with a nervous laugh that was actually meant to cover up her awkwardness.
"Don't be so evasive, Bella. You can't hide your nervousness. Don't forget I've been with you for years, so I can understand your gestures," Benny replied, deliberately implying a somewhat threatening tone.
Bella immediately laughed sarcastically again. "Ah, I just found out that you have now become someone who really understands others. You didn't even understand me during our relationship."
Benny sighed in exasperation with an expression that showed even more annoyance.
"I need you to tell me the truth, Bella. Where is Robert? Do you know Robert?" asked Benny, trying to push Bella.
Amidst Bella's rather awkward and covered-up expression, Bella shook her head.
"Of course not. If I knew him, how would I know him?" Bella threw a question back at Benny.
From Bella's words, Benny knew that the woman in front of him now would not want to admit honestly. Benny finally let out the umpteenth harsh breath because his feelings were really very annoyed. It felt like Benny had run out of ideas to find the right way to get Bella to answer his question.
Benny straightened his seat and leaned back with a nervous grunt. He looked away as his mind began to search for possible answers to Robert's whereabouts. To Benny, it seemed impossible that everything that was happening now was a coincidence. He didn't know how to find out where Robert was.
"Why don't you take it easy, Benny? You should know-"
"I don't have time to be casual, Bella." Benny replied quickly and cut Bella off. His gaze quickly shifted to Bella with a hint of sharpness.
Bella was a little surprised, then she fell silent.
While Benny was silent looking at Bella sharply, something suddenly flashed in his brain. Benny's face suddenly turned flat. Benny imagined the possibility that Robert had deliberately made himself meet Bella, but Robert came to another place.
Then in the midst of those thoughts, Benny also imagined how Asleena was doing. Since a few hours ago Benny had not called or given Asleena news. For some reason his gut feeling was not good thinking about Robert who could have come to another place while Asleena was only at home.
Wait, why is there no news from George?
Why didn't Benny check his cell phone earlier?
Benny immediately turned his eyes to his cell phone after being jolted into panic just like that. On the other hand, Benny began to think about Asleena's condition who might have been visited by Robert, considering that Robert had not come for two hours-since Benny arrived at this cafe until now.
"What do you want to do?" asked Bella, watching Benny's hasty movements. "Are you trying to contact Bella and find out how she is?"
Benny just glanced at Bella without caring or answering the question. On the other hand Benny was about to search for Robert's contact, but all he found was Roger's number repeatedly becoming a missed call.
Benny's heart sank. His concern for Asleena's condition instantly grew. Benny froze for a split second, before opening the message from Roger.
[Mrs. Asleena met with Robert, Mr. Benny. She didn't tell him where they were going. I am now searching for Mrs. Asleena's whereabouts. If you have read my message, you can catch up]
Then there were also quite a few missed calls from George. There were two messages.
[Mr. Benny, I arrived home. But Mrs. Asleena is not there]
[I got word from Roger and now I'm catching up with him. I'll send you the coordinates of my location]
"Damn!" Benny immediately cursed himself.
