ASLEENA'S POV.
"Hello, Asleena. How are you?"
Asleena's whole body suddenly stiffened when she saw a very familiar man standing in front of her gate. Asleena stiffened and couldn't say anything because her brain suddenly went blank. Asleena still couldn't believe who she was seeing right nowqq.
"Why did you come here?" Asleena asked, her voice sounding low but full of emphasis. There was concern implied in her words. "How do you know the address of this house of mine?"
In front of Asleena, Robert curved a smile that implied meaning. Robert did not feel guilty at all despite realizing that his arrival disturbed Asleena's comfort.
"I had to know because I wanted to see you, Asleena," Robert replied very casually. He gave her a calm smile. "Why did you react like that? You should be amazed that I managed to get your home address."
Asleena laughed sarcastically while looking away with a disgusted expression.
"Why would I feel admiration for you just because of that? Hey, Robert. You don't realize how much you're annoying me," Asleena retorted with her arms folded in front of her chest, glaring sarcastically at Robert.
Robert did not show himself feeling guilty. Asleena's words did not affect his attitude at all. Robert still showed a relaxed gesture.
"I didn't mean to disturb you, Asleena. It's not my fault if you feel disturbed. You can choose to take my arrival casually. Haven't you been waiting for me all this time?" Robert asked.
Asleena was really sick of hearing Robert's words since yesterday. Asleena instantly regretted her actions that desperately wanted Robert to return to her first. Asleena even cursed herself after realizing she shouldn't have tried to find out where Robert was.
During their relationship, Robert's behavior was not excessive like this. Entha why after Robert left her, Asleena already felt that it wasn't important to know why Robert left her at that time. Asleena just wanted to live her life in peace without knowing things that were not important.
"Robert. Why can't you stop bothering me?" Asleena asked in exasperation. "I've stopped looking for you. Now, I don't need you to come and explain why our relationship ended at that time."
Asleena's words honestly squeezed Robert's chest. He didn't want to hear a sentence like that. Because Robert still wanted Asleena to wait for him. Robert wanted Asleena to still give him as much care as before.
"You were still looking for me a year ago, Asleena. Why did you marry another man so easily and take my place?" Robert asked in a complaining tone.
Asleena still folded her hands in front of her chest and watched Robert through sharp eyes. Asleena did not want to listen to Robert's words. But because she was trying to be respectful, Asleena tried to keep herself standing in front of Robert without saying anything.
"I don't know how to explain to you, Robert. You should understand that I'm no longer looking for you," Asleena replied with firmness in her words.
Robert was silent for a few seconds. He just looked at Asleena without any expression. That made Asleena squint her eyes slowly as her suspicion and caution surfaced.
"Can we talk inside? I actually came to tell you something related to Benny," Robert replied, his tone starting to get serious. So was the look on his face.
Asleena frowned when Robert said his sentence. Instantly her sense of caution kicked in. Asleena couldn't understand why Robert was talking about something so serious like that.
"No, you're lying," Asleena retorted with a sardonic laugh and a shake of her head. "If you're just trying to set me up, you might as well leave, Robert."
Robert knew that Asleena would realize he was lying. But he didn't want to show too much concern.
"I'm telling you something serious, Asleena. I know something about Benny. But... we can't talk here, can we?" Robert asked.
Asleena sighed heavily, showing a distressed expression. "Oh my God. Are you trying to get me close to you?"
"You're too sarcastic and to the point, Asleena. Why is it so hard for you to trust me?" Robert asked in a resigned tone of voice.
"Because I don't know what your intentions are, Robert. I don't know why you suddenly came and asked me to leave the house on the pretext that you know something about Benny," Asleena retorted rather sarcastically.
Robert still tried to remain calm after hearing Asleena's words. Since he was already in a relationship with Asleena and knew her character quite well, he knew how to deal with her.
"You just came, how come you know something important about Benny?" Asleena asked.
"I did, because I got information about him," Robert replied. "I don't know if the information I got is true or false. But, isn't it important that I confirm it with you? Don't you want to know the other side of Benny?"
The more Robert spoke, the more serious his tone became. Asleena felt somewhat shaken after hearing Robert's question. It was like Asleena was very curious about what Robert really wanted to tell her about Benny.
"You can't possibly know something that I don't already know. Benny always tells me things before anyone else. Meanwhile, I already know all the important things about him," said Asleena who tried not to be swayed.
Robert frowned. Soon, he curved a lopsided smile that implied meaning.
"Don't you know that every human being has their own secrets?" asked Robert in a tone that seemed to provoke Asleena.
Asleena was already curious. But at that moment, Asleena was already caught in a quandary. Between feeling confused whether she followed Robert or did not immediately trust him.
"I got the information from Bella."
Upon hearing Bella's name, Asleena was shocked.
"How do you know about Bella?" asked Asleena amidst her shocked expression.
Robert chuckled. "You didn't expect that, did you? Of course I know because I read about the case that happened to you and Benny," he replied casually. "I got the information about Benny from Bella. Do you still not want to believe that the source of the information I got was Benny's ex-girlfriend-someone who was already with Benny, even engaged to Benny?"
Asleena was instantly even more shocked after learning that new fact. The shocked look on her face gradually faded into a dumbfounded look. For a few seconds, Asleena was silent with a face that was trying to think. On the other hand, Asleena was getting more and more shaken.
"Bella is engaged to Benny?" asked Asleena. Her voice was low, but still audible to Robert's ears.
Robert nodded his head. He began to feel secretly satisfied as he realized he had successfully provoked Asleena.
"That's right. Gosh, didn't you know about that?" Robert feigned surprise in a rather excited voice.
Asleena was still silent. But this time she was completely silent. She felt uneasy for whatever reason. Asleena remembered when she and Benny first agreed on the marriage contract, was Benny already engaged to Bella at that time?
Why didn't Benny tell Asleena about it?
"I don't know," Asleena replied.
"You better come with me. Because I'm going to show you something about Benny," Robert replied. His tone sounded very convincing to Asleena.
Asleena let out her breath to calm her nerves. Her gaze was still wary of Robert. But Asleena didn't seem as stubborn as before.
"If you don't want to-"
"Alright, I'll come with you. Where are we going?" Asleena asked.
Robert curved his big smile. He almost showed his satisfaction at persuading Asleena. But Robert quickly normalized his facial expression.
"We'll go now," Robert replied with a brief nod.
Asleena began to walk with Robert out of the fence. She did not need to get ready in detail because her clothes were already neat. Asleena took out her cell phone from her pants pocket and searched for Roger's contact.
There was one message from Roger.
[Miss Asleena, I'm on my way home with your food order]
Asleena typed in a reply.
[I'm going somewhere with Robert, Roger. After you get home, you can keep the food. You can also eat it if you want to.]
After typing a reply, Asleena put the phone back into her pocket and didn't think about what Roger's message was. Asleena walked straight back to Robert's car and started her journey.
***
On the other hand, Roger frowned after reading the message from Asleena. He suddenly felt bad after reading Robert's name in Asleena's message. Moreover, Robert was going to leave with Asleena.
"Miss Asleena is going with Robert? Where and what are they meeting for?" muttered Roger who felt his foreboding getting worse.
In the middle of driving the car, Roger occasionally looked at his cell phone screen. He had replied to Asleena's message asking where she was going. But until now, ten minutes after his last message was sent, Asleena still hadn't replied. Roger felt worried about how Asleena was doing.
"Did Miss Asleena not activate her cell phone? What happened?" asked Roger, muttering worriedly. "Miss Asleena should be sending her location like last time. Why isn't she sending her location now?"
Roger began to think of various bad possibilities in his head. For some reason, Roger couldn't shake his uneasy feeling.
Without further ado, Roger pressed the button to call Asleena. Roger waited for the ringtone to echo in the silence of the car. Roger occasionally looked at the phone screen in between focusing on the highway in front of him.
[MISSED CALL]
Suddenly, the phone's ringtone was cut off. Roger was surprised and his panic increased after hearing the sound of a missed call. Roger was almost glued to the screen of his cell phone because he was so shocked. Because of this, Roger almost lost his concentration and suddenly lost control of the car's steering wheel.
Fortunately, Roger's spontaneous movement was fast enough for him to immediately hit the brakes. Roger's body jerked forward and almost hit the steering wheel. Roger felt his heart beating fast with surprise mixed with worry about Asleena's condition.
"Oh, my God. That was close," Roger muttered with a sigh of relief.
Roger pulled the car over to the side of the road. After the car had stopped in the right position, Roger took out his cell phone and looked at the screen.
"Why isn't Miss Asleena picking up my calls?" Roger muttered, looking at the screen frantically.
In the midst of his intense worry, Roger decided to switch to Benny's contact. Without even bothering to send a message, Roger pressed the call icon. Roger was forced to cross the boundaries of the rule that he couldn't make calls without Benny's permission or knowledge.
As long as the ringtone rang, the phone still only showed the call had not been picked up. Roger waited with an uneasy feeling while tapping his index finger against the dashboard of the car.
"Come pick up my phone call, Mr. Benny. I want to ask you about Miss Asleena," Roger said as he waited a few seconds for the phone to ring.
[PHONE CALL MISSED]
Roger was dumbfounded after the phone call was disconnected. Roger immediately gasped and looked at his cell phone which showed the display back to the homepage.
"Why isn't Mr. Benny picking up my calls?" Roger asked in a worried tone of voice.
On the other hand, Roger's premonition was getting worse. What exactly was wrong with Asleena and Benny? Were the two of them separated?
