25. He Sucks Me
AMBER'S POV.
"Welcome to Mr. Joshua's office, Miss Amber."
I was stunned to witness the view of her father's office that she had not known about. The size was so large, exceeding the size of the living room and the bedroom of the poor family's house combined. There were glass windows that stretched wide and wide so I could view the city to her heart's content. There were two floors, but the second was only small and filled with wide bookshelves against the walls.
I walked slowly while looking around. I was so amazed, my body almost swayed several times.
"Is it true that this was father's office?" I asked Roger.
Roger nodded his head, he just stood watching my behavior that was almost unsteady earlier.
"That's right, Miss Amber," Roger answered between his faint smiles—almost laughing at me. "This is Mr. Joshua's office. Has Mr. Joshua never told Miss Amber?"
I stopped looking around the room and turned her eyes to Roger. "No, Roger. That's why I'm so amazed now. You should have told me about that."
Roger felt sorry for me, who still looked sad because of her father's departure. Because Roger himself still imagined how kind Joshua treated him. Or when Joshua was trying so hard to take care of me.
By now, I was in front of Roger. He remembered Joshua's message that he wanted him to look after me.
After my words earlier, Roger couldn't give any comment. On the other hand I was already by the window, enjoying the view with sparkling eyes.
"Roger, has my father been working happily?" I asked as she stared at the view outside the window.
Roger didn't answer right away. He thought for a moment, immediately imagined that in the past few days Joshua had indeed been thinking a lot about things. But Joshua did not explain more clearly to Roger about his worries and what he was thinking.
"It seems you already know how much responsibility Mr. Joshua holds as the owner of the company, Miss Amber."
Hearing Roger's short answer made me avert my eyes. I didn't answer for a split second, noticing the look on Roger's face that seemed to hint of sadness.
"Yeah, I know," I replied with a small sigh.
I curved a smile and walked towards the room's work desk. The table used by the father.
"Would you like to set up a meeting between me and the construction project team?" I asked after she sat down in her work chair.
Roger bowed to me in approval.
"Ready, Miss Amber. What day do you want to have the meeting?"
While looking at the desk sign with her name on it, I asked, "Can't that meeting be held today?"
Roger's brows furrowed. "About that... I got information that there is still a meeting with one of the companies, Miss Amber. Mr. Joshua should have come, but now you have replaced."
My movements stopped. He looked up and watched Roger through surprised eyes.
"Meeting with what company, Roger?" I asked who still gave her small smile.
In my presence, Roger hesitated for a split second and hesitated on what to say. But Roger sighed in the end. His steps moved closer to My desk as he took out a tablet from the tablet cover, then placed it on the desk.
"Handerson Group, Miss. There is talk of joint development of another project, they need land from our company."
Hearing that, I immediately widened her eyes. What she did not hear you correctly? The Hendersons Group?!
So I'll be going to see another annoying jerk CEO, aka Vincent?!

"For this one development project, I have prepared a concept design in an orderly and thoroughly mature manner. But the Anderson Group company and I would not have been able to carry out the project without the help of the Hudge Group company.
Based on what I have presented so far, I state that the Anderson Group needs cooperation on building land issues so that this project can run smoothly."
In front of five investors and parties from the Hudge Group company, Benny's gaze was fixed on Asleena. Benny actually didn't expect that it was Asleena who was holding this development project with him, not the old CEO of the Hudge Group. But he had no choice but to present his revised building project in front of Asleena.
"I'm actually interested in hearing all the details you've put together about this building project, Mr. Benny," Asleena replied, then propped her chin on one hand. "But are you sure you won't make this project a stalled project?"
Benny was silent for a moment. His face was so calm after getting Asleena's question. From his side, he noticed that there was a mischievous smile in Asleena's expression, as if deliberately trying to provoke her.
"Abandoned project cases really suck for the Hudge Group, don't they?" Benny answered at once implied sarcasm.
Asleena immediately faded her mischievous smile slowly. At that time, he did not answer anything, but realized the sarcasm implied in Benny's question.
"Handerson Group has never had a track record of abandoned projects. Miss Asleena, as the new CEO of Hudge Group, can find out on any site. Because for the Handerson Group, we prioritize responsibility and want many parties to get their dream home..."
"So, we try our best not to cause a track record of abandoned projects, Miss Asleena," explained Benny casually without feeling intimidated at all.
Asleena looked thoughtful for a moment. His heart was irritated—it had been irritated since the first time he entered this meeting room. What's more, I have to meet Benny, the CEO of the Handerson Group, who seems very lightheaded.
Just watch now. Why did Asleena feel that Benny was deliberately teasing her?
"Approved. Send the proposal personally to me for signature. Thank you for your presentation."
Benny curved a smile that actually looked like a grin.
"With pleasure, Miss Asleena."

"It sucks! Does he always act like that?!"
All the while walking through the hall after exiting the meeting room, Asleena couldn't stop grumbling in annoyance. Asleena chuckled in annoyance over and over again because she remembered the snotty expression on Benny's face during his presentation in front of her.
"I've tried to be professional by getting rid of my personal feelings for him. But it's like he's making fun of me on purpose," Asleena continued grumbling.
Beside Asleena, Rogger covered his mouth to hold back his laughter. He couldn't stop himself from watching Asleena's non stop grumbling behavior.
Asleena realized this. Instantly, with a confused expression but a hint of exasperation, Asleena looked at Rogger.
