50.
ASLEENA'S POV.
"Alright. Our meeting is over and we will end it now." Asleena closed the meeting with several of the company's division managers and division heads.
After Asleena said her words, the managers and division heads stood up. They dispersed as Asleena tidied up the documents in front of her.
Asleena sighed heavily as she tidied up the documents. Actually, Asleena still felt uneasy remembering the incident when she received the package box from Robert.
All she could think about was worrying about the worst possibilities. No matter how Asleena tried to calm herself down and not think about it, in the end the images of the worst possibilities still flashed.
"Mrs. Asleena. Are you okay? The meeting is over but you're silent," suddenly came Roger's voice from the side.
Asleena flinched slightly at Roger's arrival. She looked around with a surprised expression for a moment before letting out a long breath. Asleena turned her gaze the other way so that Roger wouldn't notice the anxiety in her eyes.
Roger raised both eyebrows because he sensed something strange about Asleena. Roger didn't know why Asleena seemed to be hiding something.
"I'm fine, Roger. I just don't know what to eat when I get home from the office." Asleena had to lie to keep Roger from suspecting her.
Roger immediately frowned. He couldn't believe what Asleena had just said. For some reason, his gut feeling told him that Asleena was thinking about something that she didn't want to tell anyone.
"Wait, Mrs. Asleena. My job is to take care of you and make sure you're okay. Are you really telling me the truth?" asked Roger who tilted his head to look at Asleena more intensely.
The more Roger tried to pay attention to Asleena, the more Asleena turned her face away. Just so Roger couldn't notice the anxiety on her face.
"I'm really fine, Roger. Why are you acting so strange?" Asleena asked without showing her face to Roger.
Hearing Asleena's answer made Roger unable to take his eyes off her. Instead of feeling relieved by the answer, Roger sensed that Asleena was hiding something.
"I don't know why I feel like you're hiding something from me, Mrs. Asleena. If you're all right, why turn your face away?" asked Roger who was still trying to push Asleena.
It was then that Asleena finally let out a rough breath and turned her gaze to Roger. Asleena immediately raised her face, which already looked fine. As if to show confidently that she was indeed okay.
"You see?" Asleena asked, her tone slightly irritated. "My face is fine. I don't have any problems."
After seeing the expression on Asleena's face-which was actually intentionally signaled to look fine, Roger finally let out a long sigh of relief. Roger finally straightened his body slowly and did not try to push Asleena.
As she looked away, Asleena felt that she had to convince Roger even more Asleena wanted to make Roger think that she really didn't feel any unrest.
"Look. I have to take care of this much paperwork, and I just heard a serious discussion about the company's internal problems. How can I not feel dizzy, Roger?" Asleena deliberately grumbled long enough to convince Roger.
Beside Asleena, Roger instantly felt guilty for pressing her. Roger nodded in understanding even though he still felt something was off.
"I'm just worried that you've thought of something or that you've got things bothering you again, Mrs. Asleena," Roger replied. "I'm sorry, I was just doing my duty to look after you."
Asleena was immediately touched by Roger's words. The annoyance on her face slowly faded away. She paused with a blank look at the documents in front of her, then turned to Roger.
"Hey. I didn't mean to blame you. I just don't want you to worry about me too much," Asleena replied. "Ah. It's possible that because I just received a package from that annoying guy today and I'm listening to the company's internal problems, it's affecting the mood I'm in."
"As for the package from Robert, or Robert's actions that might bother you, I can take care of that," Roger replied firmly.
Asleena turned her anxious gaze to Roger.
"Roger... I don't want to make you have to face Robert. I know very well how that man is when he has a desire," said Asleena who was annoyed with Robert.
"So, should I make Mr. Benny face Robert?" asked Roger.
Roger's question surprised Asleena so much that her shoulders jerked.
"No way. Do you know that Benny won't find out about the box?" asked Asleena, a little scared.
Roger snapped his fingers and nodded briefly. "That's why I'm the one dealing with him, Mrs. Asleena. I'll make sure Mr. Benny doesn't find out about Robert's package," he replied.
Asleena finally decided to give in because she knew Roger was more familiar with such strategies. Asleena was speechless and intense when Roger rejected her.
"Maybe I can help you also to avoid Benny from knowing about Robert." Asleena said her suggestion.
Roger nodded his head in agreement.
Soon Asleena felt a vibration on her cell phone. Asleena suddenly lowered her gaze to look at the cell phone. She hurriedly took the phone out of her pants pocket and read the name on it.
"Oh my. We were just talking about Robert, now he's already calling me," Asleena said while looking at the phone screen in annoyance.
Roger immediately frowned. "He called you, Mrs. Asleena?"
Asleena showed her phone screen which showed Robert's name as the caller. She had kept Robert's number for a long time, that's why it was still there.
While Roger automatically moved closer to the phone screen to get a better look. Roger frowned even more sharply.
"What you said is true, Mrs. Asleena. That man will do anything if he wants something," Roger commented back. The look on his face showed horror as if he was worried about Robert's behavior.
"Aish..." Asleena hissed in exasperation before looking at her phone screen again in annoyance. Asleena immediately turned off the phone call. "Why did Robert go to this extent? He should understand that I'm married, what does he want?"
Roger immediately flashed a satisfied grin when he noticed Asleena's actions. Roger knew that Asleena wouldn't cross the line behind Benny's back.
"You'd better go see Mr. Benny, Mrs. Asleena. I'll come with you to keep an eye on Robert's whereabouts," Roger said.
Asleena seemed to have just remembered something.
"Ah, right. I knew I should have gone to Benny instead." Asleena said.
Asleena then called Benny in a hurry. Asleena smiled happily right after Roger made the suggestion.
"Hey, Benny. Are you busy?!" Asleena greeted Benny enthusiastically.
While in front of Asleena, Roger only curved a faint smile while shaking his head. Roger felt relieved that Asleena was indeed doing well without having to think about the things that burdened her.
