25- Beautiful Traditions
"Okay then honey. I will be back. Enjoy!"
Red waved at him, Leaving Lucifer with no words to speak as he stood, doing what she said, watching her leave as a chuckle escaped his lips.
"Madam is surely energetic." Daniel complimented.
"Very."
"Ah, Sir, now that you are staying for the festival, you have to bother parting in pomp since you are married."
"Hmm? What tradition?" Lucifer asked.
"Every married guy gives his wife an anklet while the wife cooks his favorite food. It's the tradition to bring them close, showing gratitude, love and respect." he explained.
"What about the singles?" Lucifer asked, looking around.
"They cook for the one they love, if he or she loves you back, they will eat whatever you have made for them."
"Sounds fun. Let's get the anklet then." He smiled.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah. Iris's cooking is amazing anyways." Lucifer said and went with Daniel to get an anklet for Red. When they both returned from home.
Lucifer's eyes widened in awe to see red wearing a white shirt with a gray victorian shirt with her hairs tied in a french braid, looking graceful; seen from his eyes.
Red giggled and spun around, "Oh, Lucifer. How do I look?" Red asked, showing him her dress.
"I even got a dress for the ceremony. Have you bought an anklet for me? I am going to cook your favorite food." Red rambled on but Lucifer was enthralled to see her,
'Since when she became so pretty?' Lucifer thought and replied sincerely.
"You never looked this alluring even in the elegant dresses." He smiled, averting his gaze.
Red blushed faintly, "Really?" She asked and he nodded.
"Of course, Ma'am is so beautiful that every person, not only boys, girls too stared at her." Daniel's wife Jenna said.
Her words made Lucifer feel somehow jealous, "O-Of course, Re- Iris is a sight to behold." Lucifer mumbled, looking away.
"Ah, Aren't you going to change Lucifer?" Red asked.
"No... I am fine." Red pouted.
"Fine, I am going to look around." Red said.
"Wait, I'll come with you." Lucifer said, 'I will see who dared to look at you- Wait!? What am I saying?!'
"No, You go alone." Lucifer shook his head, changing his statement, making Red perplexed.
"You said you are coming, so you are. Come!" Red insisted and before her stubbornness, Lucifer couldn't do anything.
They were walking around, guys were still looking at Red who was talking non-stop, lost in her world but it irked Lucifer as he slowly put her hand over her shoulder and pulled her close.
Red stopped and turned to him,
"Huh? What happened?"
"Nothing. Why?" Lucifer shrugged.
"Why act like a couple all of a sudden?"
"Nothing specific, just you don't get lost."
"What-" Red made a bewildered face but it soon changed into a smirk.
"Oh, now I wonder why you did it." Red teased.
"Huh? What do you mean? I will remove my hand if you have a problem." Lucifer said hurriedly, still not removing his hand.
"Speak up." He said, sounding nervous, making Red chuckle.
"You are feeling like an outcast, aren't you. Look at your appearance." Red sneered.
Lucifer's jaw dropped by her absurd words along with a sigh of disappointment.
"Yeah. So what?" He acted the way she wanted.
"Aw! You are so cute!" Red beamed, pinching his cheeks. 'You are the type of guy a girl only dreams to have.' She thought, looking at him.
"Come on, let's get you a dress. You don't have anything to wear at the ceremony" She chirped, dragging him with her.
"I have told you Red-" Lucifer was cut off because there was no point as Red would not listen.
The couple did some shopping and went back. Daniel and Jasmine gave them their room since they are special guests.
"What's your favorite food, Lucifer?" Red asked, undoing her hair.
"Hmm... I don't have a specific preference but yeah, I do like Caramel Pudding."
"Caramel pudding is it then!" Red grinned and began to comb her hair.
Lucifer noticed the bed is a little bit cramped, not their king sized one where they can easily put a pillow in between and be comfortable.
"Uh, Red... Do you want to share the bed?" Lucifer asked.
"I can sleep with Daniel if you want."
"No, There's no need."
"I see." Lucifer walked up to her and held a strand of her hair in his hands.
"Your hair is beautiful."
"I know, right? I have taken care of them greatly. I applied oil on them almost everyday. Used the best hair products... Ah, I love my hair." Red sighed with a smile.
"Okay. okay." Lucifer chuckled.
"By the way, people are so kind, don't you think?" Red said.
"Yeah..." 'Except those boys who gawk at you.'
"I am surprised you are not vexed by anything." Red mumbled.
"Why would I be vexed?"
"Because you are born rich. Had luxury all your life and still didn't feel awkward or repulsed."
"Why would I be? Do you think that's low for me? What's wrong with it?"
"No, I just-"
"Besides, you know my parents, they have brought me quite well, she also taught me to be grateful for what I have received."
'You are too good to be real.' Red thought.
"She?"
"Ah, no one."
"And that's how you are returning to your parent's teachings... by a deception." Red taunted.
"I have told you, It's a selfish purpose."
"Anyways, I am glad to see you being a gallant guy and not a rich spoiled brat."
"Money comes and goes, if your heart is tainted, your condition doesn't matter." Lucifer said, moving back and sitting on the bed.
"Oh, Such deep words." Red said, putting the comb down.
"Leave it, better share the talks of the heart with the person you want to connect your heart with." Lucifer sighed.
"Then connect it with me." Red winked, sitting on her side.
"No need. You already have a lover." Lucifer teased, making Red frown.
"Don't ruin my mood by mentioning that stalker."
Lucifer chuckled to see her mood, "Okay, Okay... why don't we sleep?"
The next day, Lucifer was watching Red while helping everyone in setting things for the festival.
He couldn't take his eyes from her, watching how Red was standing on the ladder while tying flowers outside, decorating the house like everyone else.
He couldn't help but to be drawn closer as he took a flower and called her, "Iris!"
"What?!" Red replied, engrossed in her work. "Look at me."
"Tell me, I am busy."
"Look at me!" Red sighed and turned to look at him as he threw the flower at her and she caught it.
"You are looking very captivating." He complimented her with a wide smile.
Red chuckled and shook her head, tugging it behind her ear.
"You look even more captivating now."
Red laughed as her heart picked its pace, "Okay, okay."
They set up the decors and everything else necessary for the festival and went to get ready.
"I am looking like a cartoon." Lucifer frowned, looking at his reflection in the mirror.
He was wearing a black suit with a white shirt and a white cravat around his neck, annoying him.
"No, you are not."
"I have never worn a cravat before, it's suffocating me." Lucifer frowned.
"You look great, Lucifer. You are hot, no matter what you'll wear, you will look good in it."
"Besides, did you see when all the girls were looking at you?" Red asked.
'Just like all boys were looking at you?' Lucifer asked himself.
"Really? Did it make you jealous?"
'A little.' She thought. "No, Why would it?"
"Yeah.. why would it?" Lucifer muttered.
"Anyways, get ready, dearest wife."
"Yeah.. I will, after preparing your pudding." Red smiled, setting the collar of his shirt.
"You go and enjoy, I will join you soon." Red said. Lucifer hummed and walked out of the house. Red went to see her pudding.
"Although it was a bit sweeter but it's okay, he will eat." She mumbled.
Flipping her pudding in the bowl to get it a perfect shape and pouring caramel over it but the shape didn't turn out well and it spread all over the place.
"What the fuck!? Why now of all times? My dishes never fail." Red mumbled worriedly, not knowing what to do with the pudding anymore.
"What do I do now?" Red said, frustrated, pacing around then Jasmine came.
"Oh, Ma'am, didn't you get ready?" She asked.
"The pudding is all ruined, I don't know what to serve him now, it will take almost an hour to make another one and I have to serve it soon and there's no shop open to get ingredients. I don't know what to do now!" Red was extremely worried.
"It always happens to me, everything was going smooth and something wrecked everything. Why does it always happen to me?" Red pulled her hair and growled.
"Don't worry, Ma'am. It's okay, he loves you, he will eat it."
"He will mock me endlessly for this shit." Red spat.
"I don't think so, he will eat it happily."
"I don't think so..."
"Please don't think about it. Get ready, don't miss the fun because of it."
"Urgh!" Red groaned and went to the room to get ready.
