29- Fashion Week
Lucifer and Red finally came back from their honeymoon.
Spending time together which brought them close without being aware of it as they made some unforgettable memories which would serve as a source of redemption in the future.
Red took a deep breath before plopping herself on the couch along with a grin.
"Hehe, We are finally home."
Lucifer chuckled, taking a seat beside her.
"Yeah. A lot happened but I quite liked this, I don't even remember when was the last time when I had enjoyed this much.
"You should do some outings, what will you gain by staying in the mansion?" Red asked with a sigh and leaning back.
"There's no use because I don't want to go." Lucifer replied, leaning back as well.
"Why?" Red asked.
"Just, my heart didn't want to." He turned to look at her, Red straightened her back and turned to him while she crossed her one leg.
"What can I say? But don't you worry, as long as I am here, I will make sure you enjoy life to its fullest." Red grinned.
"We will see." Lucifer tittered and shook his head.
"Oh, don't worry. Just leave that to me. I will show you life is to live, not spend."
"Who knows you might even teach me?"
"I will. You didn't even notice you are not even cold with me because you indulge in my company. We had a lot of fun."
"Do we have fun as well?" He teased, making Red frowned.
"Uf! It was futile to talk to you. You don't know I am the radiance of this house." Red said firmly, closing her arms at her chest.
"I never noticed it before." Lucifer mumbled.
"Please do."
Lucifer smiled looking at her and yawned.
"Okay then, see you in the morning. I need to go to work."
"What? You are going to work right after we come back from our honeymoon?" Red asked.
"Of course, It's important."
"And once again I will rarely see you." Red uttered, looking away.
Lucifer was about to get up and leave but Red held his hand and motioned him to sit back. Their hearts skipped a beat and Lucifer turned to her.
"Lucifer, don't lose yourself too much in work and clubbing." She said softly, still holding his hand.
"I feel lonely without you." Red said the last part to herself but he heard it,
"Then why don't you come with me?" Lucifer offered. "I don't like clubbing."
"What am I gonna do anyway?" Lucifer asked with a shrug.
"I am here! Spend time with me. Come out of your little world."
Lucifer pulled his hand away and rolled his eyes off.
"I am fine, don't meddle in my life, woman."
"Lucifer!"
"What!?"
"What happened? What are you trying to run away from?" Red asked.
"Nothing. I don't want to, it's my choice." He groaned, getting up to leave again..
"You were so different on our honeymoon, not exasperated like this."
"You irritate me all the time. Why are you saying this anyway?" Lucifer said.
"Because we will bond if we spend time together and that's how you will cry in the end."
Lucifer looked at Red in disbelief, "All this to make me cry over our deal?" He asked and she nodded with a wide smile.
"Have you swore to make me cry?" Lucifer asked and she nodded again.
"Yes! Don't forget, a single tear would count."
"Have you ever thought about what will happen after it? I will die for your love."
'Please don't, if I loved you, I can't live without you.' Lucifer thought.
"Why die for it? You can come to me." 'Maybe this way I won't lose you.' Red said.
"Would you accept my love?" 'Please don't accept it.' Lucifer asked.
"I don't know." 'Yes'. Red smiled.
"Why don't we leave it at that time? Now can I go to sleep?" Lucifer asked, making Red giggle and she nodded.
"And yeah, don't forget the London fashion week is about to happen, I have to take part in that brand show."
"Yeah, yeah... I know." Lucifer waved and left for his room.
The next day, Lucifer was working in his office but then Harry came.
"Sir, I have two pieces of news. First, we won the case, Larry has shifted to Mexico with his family and Felix has gone to jail for the next five years, everything has calmed down until then."
Lucifer let out a sigh of relief and smiled.
"Thank God, he won't bother us for at least five years," He said.
"What's the other thing?"
"Oh yeah, I did some research and there could be one point where Mr Black could know Red-"
"Mrs Grave." Lucifer warned.
"Right, Mrs Grave." Harry nodded.
"They went to the same university. Mrs Grave was the freshman of the fashion designing department and he was the senior of the business management. He must have known her in that year. But they never met after that."
"They didn't?" Lucifer asked.
"No, Sir. Apparently The main office of Black Fabrics was in California but shifted to New York City after he received his degree. He also has a shrink named April Lopez who came from the same university, she still lives in California and probably told him about her."
"April Lopez...But why would she do it?" Lucifer mused.
"I don't know, SIr,"
"Now what's the problem with this woman, April? When Erich left then why was she sniffing on them?" Lucifer snarled.
"Who knew he told her to do it?"
"But why would he? He was avoiding Red all this time. He even shifted from California to NYC to stay away from Red... but... why?"
All these thoughts stirred Lucifer's mind, he wanted to know why all of it is happening, why it is such an entangled situation.
Who is connected with whom and for what purpose was creating a blur he couldn't clear.
"But Sir, Why do you have to involve yourself in it?" Harry asked.
"It's for a brief time."
"Why do I feel like it's all this April's fault?" Lucifer said to himself.
"Sir, leave this matter. Your marriage isn't gonna last anyways and she will leave."
"Shut up, Harry! She is my responsibility, I have to protect her."
"Such words are rare coming from you. Are you alright?" He asked, concerned. Lucifer exhaled in consternation and rubbed his temples,
"I don't know. I just don't want Red to be hurt. She is like a bright star which could ignite every heart. I want to protect that light." Lucifer unintentionally smiled while speaking.
"All because she is a bright star?" Harry asked.
"Yeah, so?"
"Not because she is igniting your sky?" Harry's words came as a shock and the undesirable realization which he quickly declined.
"What a-are you saying? I-It's nothing like this. Go back to your work." Lucifer Scolded and Harry left with a frown of disappointment.
"And yeah, I want to attend London Fashion week with Red."
"What? Fashion week? Sir, you will look like an outcast."
"I don't care, just do as I say." Lucifer said coldly.
"Okay..." Harry left and Lucifer focused on his work again.
