17- Flawless Pair
Acknowledging the fact that Red Bennet and Erich Black were a made in heaven couple and they made it a reality by forging into a bond of undying love- Marriage.
No doubt they are our Flawless Pair.
It was quite obvious that such compatible partners are soulmates. Their passion is seen through their work. Mr Black, by providing fabrics to Ms Bennet received her heart in compensation.
A woman of strong facades and a man of remarkable seduction skill, when they collide- a mesmerizing love arouses.
Good Luck to the couple for their future, have a blessed life. Expecting to hear the story of your love after the exquisite honeymoon.
Red sighed after reading the headline of the news.
Not again. She thought and leaned back on the seat of Erich's Aston Martin.
They couple upholding their image and were going for their honeymoon to earn a reprieve from people and get to know each other considering the pinch of the relationship.
Rather than going to an exotic location- out of America to make the competition tough among other couples they decided to go Los Angeles by road and slack off.
Red shook her head and heaved, Erich noticed her coldness mixed with stress and asked,
"What happened?" Looking at her from the corner of his eyes.
"There's a headline about us, wanna hear it out?" She asked.
"I don't mind. Time will pass this way." He shrugged.
"Play some songs if you want." She retorted in irritation.
"Stop by at the next grocery store. I want some chips." Red said.
"Okay..."
"I don't understand why the media thinks that we got married because of work?"
"Because that's the frontage we put up. They don't know the reality." He said.
"Yeah... and if they do, your image of a playboy would turn into a crazy lover..." She chuckled dryly. Erich smirked and turned to her.
"I wouldn't mind it. It suits me a lot." Even though I am not. He thought.
"Look ahead." She muttered.
After a while Erich asked again, "Red... Do you hate me?"
She exhaled deeply and pinched the bridge of her nose.
"I feel nothing for you. Erich, you just freak me out sometimes... Who knows for how long you were stalking me?"
"Red, I never stalked you-"
"Oh, then knowing everything about me is not considered stalking?"
"Sorry.." he looked down, stopping in front of a grocery store.
"You know this sorry of yours is serving as a tape of a broken glass. Fix it if you can." She spoke her bitter words and went inside the shop.
She bought herself some chips and chocolates.
"I saw you eating snickers a lot... So I bought them for you." Red said.
"Thanks."
They then went to their hotel. Red fell on the bed and received a call from her assistant Carter.
"Hello, Sorry to disturb your honeymoon Ma'am."
"Nah, it's fine. Speak up."
"Ma'am, since we haven't sent the shipments this month the stock is overflowing at the outlet."
"Hmm. So?"
"What do we do?"
"Donate the old stock and make place for the new one."
"Donate... in a charity show?' He asked.
"Did I mention Charity Show? No. Just donate them."
"But Ms Bennet they are still trendy-" She grit her teeth in annoyance.
"I don't care. Do as I say." With this, she cut the call with a scowl over her face. Erich came out from the shower and overheard her conversation, taking a seat, he said.
"What are you trying to show by not sending the shipment? That you are overjoyed?"
"Don't meddle in my work, Erich." Red said.
Besides, He knows I don't compromise with my work... She thought.
"Red..." He called her.
"Hmm?" She hummed, using her phone.
"You came here for Disneyland, didn't you?" He asked.
"What else could it be?
"We could go to Hong Kong as well."
"I don't want to. I am too tired to visit abroad. I want to be in my country."
"Oh.. Okay."
The next day they went to Disneyland and Red's face lit up in delight to see it.
"Erich! Look, the castle- What are you doing there? Come here!" She called looking at the castle in front of her in admiration.
"I am getting your cotton candy, wait." Erich said and came back with her cotton candy, she was eating it, looking around in fascination.
Erich couldn't help but to smile at her exhilaration.
I die for this smile. I don't know when she will look at me with the same expression but I am willing to spend the rest of my life waiting for that one moment. Erich thought.
He badly wanted to hold her hand but refrained, just watching her clicking pictures. She held his hand and took him to Mickey Mouse.
"Erich, take a picture of us." She grinned. He nodded and took a picture of them.
By looking at her, Erich asked, "Is this your first time here, Red?" She nodded and he was taken aback.
"I came to LA for a show but never had the time to visit this..." She said,
"Hey... are you Mr and Mrs Black?" A random girl came to them and asked.
Red smiled decently and nodded, "Yes. It's us."
"Can I take a picture with you?"
The couple nodded and took a picture and caught the attention of the people around them and the crowd came around trapping them but they managed to slip out.
"Huff... Erich? Erich." She turned and saw Erich standing behind.
"There you are. Come, let's go for a ride." She said, taking his hand.
"Uh.. Do we have to?" Erich stopped, asking nervously.
"Why?"
"No. Nothing." He shook his head, passing a smile.
Raising an eyebrow, he put her hand over her waist, "Speak up. I know nothing about you."
"I am afraid of rides." He confessed, looking away embarrassed.
She made an 'o' face and hummed, "I see... then let's walk around." She passed him a faint smile.
"You sure? You can go alone."
"I didn't come here to be alone. Come let's look around, there's more than rides. Let's check out these snacks."
Her smile grew wide as she took him with her looking around and having a joyful day.
After the tiresome day, they went back.
"Ah... I need it." Red said.
"You do. Ever since you came back, you have locked yourself in work." Erich told her.
"I don't have time to enjoy life anymore." She lied, shaking her head.
"You don't have time or you don't want to?" Erich asked, speaking the words of her heart.
"Both... My heart neither wants nor I have time." She replied truthfully.
"Why are you doing this to yourself?" Erich asked deadpanned.
"Why are you doing this to me?" She asked in the same tone.
"I had no choice."
"Couldn't win against your obsession? Anyways, leave it. I don't want to ruin my day by arguing with you."
Red stood up and went to the bathroom and went to sleep later.
They were struggling to become a normal couple but something always came between them.
Wanting to give a chance but couldn't stick them in an undesirable situation where they can't attach their soul and shine into the darkness.
Maybe it was the destiny of their hearts to be annihilated by unrequited love.
The next day, they went to Santa Monica beach. It was sunset.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" Red asked, mesmerized by the sight before her.
"A lot." Erich returned the smile and watched her looking at the horizon.
"Let's go to the Pier after sunset."
"Sure." Always be happy. My worthless existence will only reduce the worth of this moment.
Erich thought and swallowed his harsh thoughts and turned away to leave but Red held his hand, still looking at the sunset.
"You took me here, share this moment with me." She said, tightening her grip on his hand and walking into the water.
"You enjoy it." He made an excuse.
"Thanks to you I am living this moment. Stay." She finally turned to him.
"Let's go to the pier." She smiled and they went there.
"Erich, One and last time." She said, pointing at the ferris wheel.
"Sure. I can do at least this much for you." He said sincerely.
"Don't worry, If you get scared, sit beside me. I will be there for you." She soothes his nervous form.
"Thanks." He smiled.
"Red..."
"I am happy." He told her.
"At least one of us is." She taunted unintentionally.
The sat and the wheel started moving and Erich held Red's hands, shutting his eyes tightly.
"Erich..." She called him when they stopped in the middle.
He slowly blended with the elegant sight and the presence of Red which provided instant lull to his fidgety form.
"What am I to you?" Red asked, out of blue.
"..." Erich remained silent, not knowing what to say.
"What am I to you, Erich?"
