46- Present
~ Present ~
They were in the party, Erich had a call so he went to attend it, leaving Red and Lucifer alone, which she doesn't want.
Red was extremely cold with Lucifer, they talked and Red showed no interest and Lucifer out of blue asked, "Are you happy?"
"Huh? Of Course I am." She said, taken aback by his words. Lucifer gave her a compassionate look and said slowly.
"Red, You promised me that you will never lose the shine of your eyes."
Moving closer he asked desperately.
"Those eyes, Red, which have the power to overcome every obstacle with a smile. The shimmer which attracted me to you unwillingly. Where are those eyes you promise to keep dedicated?"
Lucifer gulped, controlling his emotions,
"At least, I could have fulfilled your one promise."
A tear sting in Red's eyes when she heard it, heart ached in misery.
"Those eyes...?"
Lost in the depth of turmoil she pointed her finger at him in contempt and continued with a hoarse voice.
"All of them died the day you let me go..." She sniffed, trying not to cry and continued.
"That desire to live, the connection of hearts, that light... you took all of it."
A tear fell on her cheek and she moved back. Exhaling to not cry.
"You emptied me, let me go..." She whispered.
Lucifer was on the verge of breaking into loud sobs a tear shone like crystal in the corner of his eye,
"By which right, I could stop you? Who were- no who are you to me that I show right over you?" He asked, breathless, anguished, broken.
'And you proved our bond was never an attraction of hearts but mere right. Sad.'
"Then why are you here?"
"I have some uncertainty that you are not happy.. Now I know you are not." He said, wiping his eyes, not crying.
"I am his."
"You were never mine in the first place." He told the bitter truth. "What do you want?" Red asked.
With another tear and a smile, Lucifer replied, "I wish I could be selfish enough to this- you."
His answer shocked Red to no extent, "Then why are you here?"
Lucifer abruptly hugged and whispered, "Be happy."
And pulled away without saying another word with tears he couldn't hide anymore streaming down his face which reflected his devastation and torment.
The point of his life where he lost his track and now stood alone in a crowded place with a shattered heart.
Lucifer was about to leave but Red called him.
"Mr Grave, wait." Red's tone was again emotionless.
Lucifer gulped and wiped his eyes so Red wouldn't see his tears and turned to her, "Yes?"
Red came closer, giving him a stern look, hissing.
"You have touched me today, don't you dare to do it again." He warned, crushing his heart under her feet, stealing the dreams he was losing from his eyes.
"I-I am sorry, M-Mrs Black." He said, lowering his head, trying to stay composed.
"Red, I-" He was about to say something but Erich came back at that time.
"Red." Red turned to Erich.
"Oh you are back. Who called?" She asked.
"It was my therapist, she just wanted to congratulate me." Erich shrugged.
"You had a therapist?" Red asked.
"He stopped taking it long ago." Lucifer said.
"Mr Grave, I am talking to my husband."
Red passed Lucifer a mocking smile. Lucifer cleared his throat.
"I apologize." He said and left.
"Are.. you okay?" Erich asked.
"I wish." Red scoffed.
"I am sorry, I should have realized-"
"It's okay." Red passed him a faint smile.
"Leave it." She shook her head.
"Uh.. Red."
"Hmm?"
"Is the offer to dance still valid?" he asked expectantly.
"Sure." Red took Erich's hand as they left to dance as Lucifer's fiery gaze followed their trail.
"I didn't know you take therapy sessions." Red said.
"Oh, those were irrelevant, we just used to have sex." Erich shook his head, spinning her.
"Why are therapy sessions for? You can get any girl. What's so special in it?" Red asked, not caring for what reason he had behind them.
Erich stopped and pulled Red to him, he held her waist, smirking at her, leaning close as he whispered, "The only person special for me, Is you."
"How?" Red asked, staring into his eyes, moving her hand to his chest but he pulled away.
"You are my everything." Erich said with in-depth emotions of adore.
"Since?" Red asked, her eyes persuasively following his movements.
"Since I am breathing." He replied in a charming tone, making Red smirk.
"You should know, Your manipulation won't work on me."
"Trying won't hurt." Erich abruptly pulled Red to him again as she held his collar while boring her gaze into his deeply.
When Erich saw her azure gems, he turned oblivious of his surroundings. Nothing but this brief moment which means the whole world existed.
He couldn't help but to smile at the benediction of having her in his life as he pulled away, breaking their gaze.
"Thank you." Erich said sheepishly.
"For what?"
For those little affections you shower me unintentionally, "Nothing."
"Hmm. I will be back." Red said and left.
After Red left Erich turned his attention to Lucifer. Their predatory gaze when collided turned into a cluster of malicious intention they concealed professionally behind their unbreakable facade.
Erich walked closer, contemplating Lucifer as when his steps walked past him, he spoke up.
"She is my wife, stay away from her."
Before Erich could take another step, Lucifer stopped and put his hand in his pocket, "Her emotions are connected with mine."
They both turned to each other as Erich smirked darkly, "And fate with me."
Erich took a step closer, their glares clashed, holding wrath and envy inside.
"And before destiny, emotions are meaningless." Erich enunciated.
"And I will turn the tables of fate-" Erich cut Lucifer off.
"Lucifer it doesn't matter how we get married, I only have this chance to enlighten my emotions in her heart."
His words came as a source of amusement to Lucifer as he smirked, knowing all too well what Red thinks about him, "We will see."
"We will."
They both turned their backs on each other and left.
