42- Till we meet again
"How long are you going to wait? It's been a year, if he wanted to come, he would have done it sooner."
The harsh reality broke her heart as she involuntarily replied to herself.
"I am going to London, if he doesn't come to meet me there. I ...I will take it off." Red forced a smile and went to London.
Her heart was pulsating with unwanted sensations she was trying to avoid and putting up her cold posture. She was setting things up for the show but Carter told her someone came to meet her.
Red heart skipped a beat to think it might not be Lucifer.
An instant smile came to her lips, she set her hairs and smiled sweetly, going to see who came to meet her but to her disappointment, It was Peter and Parker- it's not that she was unhappy to see them.
She quickly hugged them, face lit up in extreme happiness.
"Oh my God! You guys! What are you doing here?! Gosh, I missed you so much, you didn't even wait for me."
Apart from April, these two also knew what happened to Red.
"Hey! We missed you too, Girl." Parker hugged her back and grinned.
They pulled away and laughed a little. "We couldn't come to your first show so we decided to come to this one." Peter said.
"And when I have a show in Paris, I will surely come to you guys." Red smiled.
"Yay!" Red laughed a little, averting her gaze.
"Red.. are you okay?" Peter asked.
"Huh? What do you mean? I am absolutely fine."
Red chuckled nervously but she knows she is not and cannot hide it from her friend who has known her ever since childhood.
"Ah, I am so busy right now. Text me about your hotel, I will catch up with you guys after it." Red smiled, patting Peter's back.
"Are you sure you are okay?" Parker asked, scanning her.
"Yeah." Red faked a smile.
"Just tell us the name, providing the body is our duty." Parker said seriously.
"I told you, it's nothing. Let's talk later." Red smiled, waving them goodbye.

"When he loved me too then why didn't he come back to me!? I... I waited for him all this time and he.. Didn't even try to contact me!" Red cried, holding Parker's shirt tightly while hugging him, sobbing loudly.
They got drunk and Red spilled her heartbreak. They were sober but Red was drunk and she will remember what she said when she woke up but couldn't contain her ravage anymore.
"Why didn't you go to her?" Peter asked softly, rubbing her back.
Red pulled away a little, sniffing and wiping her tears and stopping her hiccups from constant crying.
"I did. I came back, I even went to the parking lot but didn't find his car. But he wasn't there, how could he leave me?"
"He never tried to contact you?" Red shook her head no.
"You should have tried to." Parker told her.
"I couldn't... H-His last words.. I got frightened... Afraid to see his obsession which could break me and I...I don't want to hate him... G-Guys, h-he scared me. Th-that time I came back but now I can't. And w-what about him? Why can't he come?"
She said in a hoarse voice, trying not to cry but her efforts were fruitless. She lowered her head for a second and broke into a loud sob again,
"I love him so much!"
Just at the same time, A certain silver-eyed guy deluged in sorrows was drinking near their counter and heard a wail,
"I love him so much!" He frowned, irritated.
"Why can't they keep their heartbreak to themselves?" Lucifer mumbled to himself, taking a sip of his drink. The sound of cries was ruining his already in a wreck mood.
"Please tell him to come to me for once!"
Her friend and anyone hearing her could feel the desperation laced in her words and it made Lucifer enraged as it reminded him how pathetically he hid from Red and didn't dare to come.
Lucifer rose from his seat and went to Red who was crying while hugging Parker again, hiding her face in his chest.
"Please come to me." Red whispered, hopelessly, loud enough for him to hear. Lucifer stiffed for a second, recognizing this voice.
'It can't be, Lucifer. She is not here. 'He told himself.
"Could you please stop Ma'am? She is creating a scene." Lucifer told them calmly.
"Sorry dude but bursting is a mark of her existence." Parker sighed, rubbing her back.
"Stop crying. You were never like this." Peter said.
"Yeah, don't ruin your life for one asshole who can't even love you properly. It's not love if he can't break boundaries for you." Parker said, pulling away and Lucifer's eyes widened.
Flabbergast to see none other than Red before him.
His heart stopped for a second, his whole being stopped functioning, watching the woman before him who is none other than Red.
Red wiped her eyes and looked at Lucifer from the corner of her eyes.
"LUCIFER!" She shouted, jumping into his arms, hugging him tightly, taking him by shock.
Lucifer, who was left with the incapability to think, remained motionless while Red cried again in his chest.
"Lucifer! Why didn't you come back!? You loved me, didn't you? Y-You said nothing could take me away from you if we me-meet again. We did! Please don't torment me more."
Tears streamed down her face as Red Looked at his face expectantly, not in her sense, drunk and miserable.
Tears soaked Lucifer's chest, as his skin engraved the await, she did, losing her shimmer he died for- Fading.
Lucifer looked at her in pity when she held his collar.
"Are you crazy, Red? You are drunk!" Parker scolded.
"My eyes can deceive me but my heart can't. It's Lucifer!" She shut her eyes, breathless, helpless.
Lucifer's lips began to quiver and he knew other than a sob, no sound could escape his lips, I never knew she'd suffer this much without me.
Lucifer swallowed the lump in his throat and put his hand over hers, 'I am a coward who can't express his emotions.'
A tear fell from his eyes, he let out a shallow breath and pushed her away, staggering her.
'But I can at least lessen your agony so you don't wait for me.'
He gave her a cold look and asked in his usual bored tone, "Who are you?"
The sentence might be simple but it felt like a sword stabbing her heart to Red.
Her eyes widened in horror, "L-Lucifer... I-I am Red. Y-Your Red."
'I wish you were mine.' He thought.
"I am sorry, Ma'am. I don't know you." Lucifer said, setting his collar. His piercing gaze, pricked her, crumbling her in betrayal.
"Lucifer." She whispered, holding Parker's arms, trembling.
"You must have misunderstood me for someone else. Stop crying, you are bothering everyone here." He spoke his stone-cold words which killed Red from inside.
Her mind went blank as tears rolled down her cheeks.
"You didn't hesitate to kill the last ray of hope, Mr Grave." Red said in a feeble tone as another tear rolled down her cheek followed by a stream of them as she ran out of the club, weeping as her friends ran after her.
"I am sorry that you have to love someone like me." Lucifer said sadly, looking down in shame.
Before Red knew it, she passed out and woke up in her hotel room the next day. Her head throbbed in pain but she clearly remembered what happened last night.
Pained, desolated, despaired, she looked around and saw Parker sleeping on the sofa and Peter beside her as his foot was over her neck.
She growled at him, grabbing the pillow and took out her anger on him and put the pillow over his face, suffocating him. Peter pushed her away and shouted,
"What the fuck, you witch!? Are you trying to kill me?" He asked, breathlessly. Red gave him a cold look and got out of the bed.
"I just wanted to kill someone." She mumbled.
"Then do it with your Lucifer not with me!" He shouted back, going back to sleep.
Red didn't reply and went to fresh herself. She stood under the shower as tears mixed with the water, Red clutched her hairs, falling on her knees, biting her lips and not crying.
Each drop of water which fell on her face, cleared her mind and made her realize that the path she chose brought nothing but devastation. It will lead nowhere but to gates of hell and the labyrinth of anguish.
Red covered her mouth and cried in the shower. The darkness consumed her, deceiving her to believe it a dream of sweetness but she finally saw it was nothing but a nightmare.
She stopped her journey of await, as her moist eyes stopped looking for the person she once called a lover.
'Why are you punishing me so badly that you even refused to recognize me?'
