Complex
We soon arrive home where I was able to take my contacts out of my eyes, I know I said how easily I can take contacts out, but I've never done it this much. I soon join Jackson in the kitchen where he was still looking in the box of things, but once he spots me standing there, he sends me a smile.
'Back to Ally with your beautiful green eyes." He smiles which did make me blush slightly, I take a look down a little embarrassed that he just compliments my eyes. 'While you were upstairs, I looked more into all of this and found that some photos have dates on them." He explains holding up one of the photos, it read 15th February 2017, it even said where it was taken.
'He was really keeping track of everything that girl was doing." I say taking a seat at the counter so I could also see, but an idea soon comes into my mind. 'Couldn't we get a map and start to pinpoint where every picture was taken, would that help us at all?" I ask looking over at Jackson who smiles again, all this man does when I ask him a question is smile.
'It's like you were born to do this Ally, that is a great idea, but the only problem is, we can't have a map here as it's going to be quite difficult to hide anything like that from your mother." He tells me with a laugh, but I begin to look around to see if any hiding places were jumping out at me.
'You gravely underestimated my hiding skills." I say still looking around which only makes him laugh even more, he stands up putting everything back into the box before grabbing his keys.
'We can lead this whole investigation from my house, I mean we couldn't always be doing this from your mother's house in case she comes home unexpectedly, this makes life easier." He tells me beginning to walk towards the door, but I groan looking at him as he went.
'We have to go out again, I literally just took my contacts out." I groan looking at him while he holds his finger up, he pulls out a pair of sunglasses handing them to me. 'You want me to wear sunglasses in this weather, people will think I'm demented." I say looking down at the glasses in my hand, will I even be able to see?
'We can always go back to the contacts option." He says but I shake my head putting the sunglasses on my eyes, he smiles taking my hand once again and pulling me out of the house.
Peter walks back into the police station after going home for a few hours, he had been sat in this place more than he's been at home. It's been around two weeks since Ally went missing, but in Peters mind, the police are no closer to finding Ally or what happened to her!
'Just the man I wanted to see; I've been waiting for you to get back." William, the lead investigator smiles at Peter, if Peter would have known this he would have never gone home. 'I need to head over to the residence of the Carters; I want to see if anyone stands out to me that the officers on the scene may have missed." He explains walking out of the police station, Peter running behind him as he went.
'Why do you need my help to do that?" He asks as they reach a black car, Peter will help anyway that he can but joining William searching Ally's house, he didn't know how he could help.
'You know Ally and her family personally, while I will be looking for anything that may stand out from an investigation point of view, you can see if anything is out of place from what you know about them." He explains opening up the car door, Peter understood what he meant and ran around to the passenger side so they could head over to Ally's.
In no time they had pulled up at the house, just seeing the house again made memories of the night Ally went missing fill Peters. When they went their separate ways after work, he wished he had known what he does now, he would have stopped her ever leaving him.
'It doesn't seem like either Jason or Ally left on their own, both of their cars are still in the driveway." William says pointing to the cars outside, Peter nods his head agreeing with him as they both get out of the car.
'When I was looking for Ally the night, she went missing, I saw her keys sat on the counter." Peter explains as they walk past her car, William nods his head before walking over to the front door and unlocking it. 'Has anyone tried to get ahold of Ally's mother, I know they don't really talk much and Ally, hasn't seen her mother in so long, but she still should know?" Peter asks as they enter the house, to him everything looked the same as it did the night, she went missing.
'She has been informed, as she is a very respected lawyer my boss wanted to talk to her. She's being kept in the loop." William explains as he begins to scan the house, Peter shakes it head at how little Ally's mother cares about her family being missing. 'It's clear to me that there was some kind of struggle, which only solidifies the theory that Jason and Ally did not leave willingly." William explains still walking around the bottom of the house.
'How can you tell that?" Peter asks also looking around, he knew he wasn't a detective, but it really seemed as though nothing was that out of place to him.
'Well for starters, it's clear that somebody was making food on the oven, the open cabinets, ingredients out and the splattered food that is on the oven all points to that. While cooking, somebody had broken in through the side door over there, I can tell that due to the handle being ripped off and laying on the floor outside. Whoever was cooking was taken by surprise, I know this too because the spatula they would have been using is on the floor. If you look the residue from the food is splattered on the cabinet showing that the spatula was dropped from a height. But what this doesn't tell me is how they managed to get the second person out and which one of the two it was." William says with his hand on his chin, but that soon sparks a memory in Peters mind.
'When I came here and found they were both missing, I went to Ally's room to see if she was there, she wasn't but her work clothes and purse were still there. From the timeline that was made, Ally would have just gone home from work and was getting changed upstairs, maybe she heard what was happening and came down where she was taken." Peter suggests trying to think of what makes sense, William clicks with a smile on his face.
'That must be it, Ally would have come down and saw her father's food on fire where she threw it into the sink, hence the burnt pan of food. But there is only one set of drag marks per say, if she was dragged out like her father there would be marks on the floor. This leads me to believe that Ally came down and saw her father missing here she began to look for him, she would have seen the sliding door opened and walked outside to see if he was there." William said opening up the sliding door and climbing out, Peter soon follows as he walks down the garden path. 'You said the back gate was open, this telling us she left the gate and was looking at the road. Her phone was laying on the grass which could mean the struggle happened there." He says pointing to the patch of grass that her phone was found, but something was standing out of Peter.
He walks over to the patch of grass and finds money; he picks up with a glove and looks over to Peter. He soon looks behind him and runs over to stand in the road, where a skid mark stood.
'I don't think Ally and her father were taken by the same people, perhaps they operate the same way but not the same guys." He says kneeling down in the road, Peter looks around not understanding how William has been able to understand all of that.
'How do you know that?" He asks where William just smiles, he loves to explain things as it makes everyone aware of his genus.
'Well as you can see there has been money dropped into the grass, now that could be a random event, but her phone was found there. From the way it's laying, it hasn't bounced and doesn't seem like it fell from a great height. Maybe Ally was laying on the grass and her money slipped out of her pocket. Now you may be asking why she would be laying on the grass, I can tell from the first set tire tracks that the car speed away at a high speed, Ally may have walked onto the road to find her father and had to jump out of the way before she was hit. She would have landed on the grass right here, now there is a second tire track there which tells me another car was involved, this could mean that after Ally landed on the grass, another person from that car picked her up and drove her away from the scene before you arrived. I know this due to the second set of tire tracks, which begs the question, were they took by the same people?" William asks with a smile on his face, Peter looks over at him realising how complex this whole investigation may be.
